I decided we share our findings.
I'm taking the S2000 to the LHT / CHD Meet at the Fontana Dam and didn't want to drive a stock car.
We decided to do a back to back test from completely stock to the Skunk2 header.
It was tuned with the stock header shown in a previous video .

Jeff Evans mentioned before that the factory s2000 header was pretty good from the factory. Although I’ve always trusted his judgement, I’m glad you guys were able to show us all with dyno comparisons.

04 s2000 here. I have this header, along with Berk-70mm cat, Skunk2 exhaust, k&n intake system. Really sounds great. Love the channel, thanks for continuing to upload great content. Also... If my engine ever hypothetically blows up, I want you guys to do a j37 swap for me.

Looks to me like the entire low to mid range before the VTEC crossover actually lost power. Am I reading that dyno graph correctly?

Save your money and buy a test pipe and get a tune with that

Wish I could make it!! In my slow ass GD3 Fit... Bur my wife's birthday is the 16th and despite my best efforts, I can't convince her this would be the best way to spend the weekend lol

I've had a mixed bag of results with Skunk2 parts ranging from suspension to exhaust parts. I've had Skunk2 valvetrain parts, no problems to note. I did have a super cheap OBX exhaust manifold at one point before "upgrading" to a Skunk2. Lol. Granted all of this was back in the early to mid 2000s.

Without actually doing them back to back on the same dyno it's hard to say. The problem with most tests, someone is profiting from the part that produces the most power. In our case, I don't care.

what was the difference between these and oem on a supercharged car? I had a really crappy obx and went back to oem and it does feel a lot better, wondering if its worth going anything else since everything I've read and was told by a tuner is that oem headers flow the best. currently have full exhaust and test pipe with oem headers on top of the supercharger.

The OEM header is very good. In our testing on supercharged cars, the larger tube headers start to show gains in the upper HP range. At around 400whp there’s very little gains but at 450+ we’ve seen 8-10whp . Same as exhausts. It goes to shown how good the oem parts are. Now turbo is completely different, the oem exhaust really needs to go.

@@rayclaudio4141 It’s not that we can’t do It, just very difficult to price. Custom work is often priced by the hour as there’s usually RD and figuring solutions to problems. It’s not something we can put a price on unfortunately.

Is there a trick to getting that header to fit an AP1? I bought the header and for the life of me can’t get it to fit. People on forums are talking about removing motor mounts and shifting the engine over to get it to fit.

Drop the sun frame bolts 1.5”. It will go right in.
