To all of you who say the film is bad, you are right, but in case you somehow don't know there is in fact two more sequals, completely animated in 3D, Starship Troopers: Invasion and Traitor of Mars. They do take place after the three films, not seriously long after as Rico is still alive and fighting, and are really good. They have power suits that are akin to the ones in the original novel, albiet they still get skewered easily but they can fly for a short while, and have shoulder mounted weapons including missles, a chain gun, and a nuke. And they have Mauraders mechs still, but let's just say they got some serious upgrades as they are now MKII's and for those that read the novel they are more akin to the novel version. Emphasis on akin. And while the two movies don't retcon the terrible stuff from the 3rd movie or anything really it also doesn't bring it up at all. The Godbug is not mentioned one bit. So give them a watch, or just watch clips on youtube to see if it catches your fancy.

@@darthraider7935 I agree. Invasion was MAD HYPE. I felt it was more in line with the original movie. ACTION packaged. HOT babes, tough guys. I admit invasion had many side characters, Hiro i though would be the main protagonist was so silent I did not really know him, Johnny coming in the end felt he stole the show. Traitor of mars I think they tried to have less characters and more focused on Johnny but none of the side characters were cool as the the ones in invasion.

Because they used blanks as well as great sound editing. IIRC at the time of filming, it was the most blank ammunition ever used in a movie. Might still be a record considering movies started using more and more CGI

@@relefgdude what? 2 was WAY better than 3. In 2, the bugs look on par with the original and the federation music kicks ass. It also has great atnosphere and horror elements for being made on such a low budget. Despite its obvious flaws, I actually have a lot of respect for 2. 3 is a travesty. The warrior bugs look pathetic.

Yes it was a direct to video release but it wasn't as horrible as you would think - certainly better than the first- and Casper Van Diem actually does a good job. What kills the movie are the really terrible special effects and production values.

I find 2 to be the best of all the sequels. I really liked the infiltrator bug and the effects were top notch for a 7mil budget. The federation theme song was also awesome and so were Dax and the angelina jolie look alike. I think peoole just bash 2 cuz they hate horror movies. Imo, it was really cool to see an isolated horror movie in the ST universe

"Shed no tears for me,my glory lives forever!!" Fucking epic

Now I know this movie is like fucking vegetable gravy, but hear me out. If you changed the context, this scene would be really, really great. The solving of the compatibility problem with the bodies, the worship of an alien that calls itself God, and the embrace of being fucking eaten by it, that is really, really good sci fi horror. It's a horrible Starship Troopers movie and just a bad movie in general, but this scene, if taken by itself, is pretty god damn good.
