This sheet has been available in Season of Duets.
Sustained notes are played basically as directed. Other notes are extended according to the player's personal interpretation.
However, for the cello, the notes without sustain are intentionally played shorter to show the difference between sustained and non-sustained notes as a demonstration performance for commentary.
