I was a teen when this project started and im almost 30 now. I'm so excited to finally play this next year. Thank you to this team for all their hard work this looks completely amazing
I am so excited!!! I am almost 40 and I feel like a kid excited for Christmas waiting for this game. Thanks for everything you guys have done/do, this means so much to a lot of us.
This looks much better than Skyrim. Considering that Oblivion is better written and has more complex cities and guilds I think many players will live it.
I wonder what effect this will have on Bethesda themselves? When more people realize just how great Bethesda games could be with passion put into them. Maybe it'll be like Fallout New Vegas all over again.
@@noob19087if it drives companies to stop producing crap it would be awesome. Sadly people are simpletons and will give them money regardless, so we only have people like these modders who can do the community justice.
Oblivion was also boring fantasy compared to Skyrim and Morrowind. What I like about this is they replaced Oblivion's plastic esqe, samey and painfully generic overworld and replaced it with something that has similar vibes as Oblivion but has that magic and originality that Skyrim and especially Morrowind has. Basically taking all the good things about Oblivion and not just updating it to Skyrim engine, but actually giving us a better version of the world. It's great work.
@@noob19087just because BGS doesn’t make the type of game you want doesn’t mean there’s no passion in it. I’ll admit Starfield was a weak entry, BGS is still my favorite developer though. Also, F4 > FNV. Don’t @ me
The Interiors look amazing, better than both Oblivion and Skyrim. The exteriors look beautiful, the lighting and the weather changes make everything look darker and more mysterious than in Skyrim, more like the British medieval fantasy weather and style than the brighter Scandinavian look of Skyrim which was exactly what the original feeling of Oblivion was. You captured that world's gloomier and "wetter" aesthetics to perfection. It also seems to be a much better game design and aesthetics to the interior spaces, each with their own unique look. There is so much thought and attention to detail shown in each of the spaces whether the Inn and spaces within the city, the caves, the ruins or the mines, each of the locations looked unique and fleshed out.
Thousands? Why? I like these games too, but after playing them twice they get a bit boring. And there are hundreds of other games to play and most of us have very limited free time.
It`s quite smart of Bethesda to support the modding to the extent they are doing it, they sold a lot of Skyrim copies with the Enderal, they did sold a lot of Fallout 4 with the Fallout London release and they will sell a lot of Skyrim and oblivion when Skyblivion launches.
Imagine if Activision published Skyrim. They'd put Skyrim on sale in the days leading up to this mod's release, and then shut the mod down after thousands of additional sales of Skyrim, and after years of dedicated, hard, unpaid work from the Skyblivion team. You know, just like they did last week with Modern Warfare Remastered.
And like they did with Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, they seriously did white wolf and the other studios involved dirty. I agree Bethesda are champions in the AAA market for supporting modding, it's like being an Indie studio amongst big name iconic titles.
played oblivion as a kid, didnt know what i was doing at all. I remember spending lots of time in a battle arena, doing the thieves guild quest and going to summerset. Ive now spent 1000s of hours on skyrim but never really came back to oblivion, but there was always a nostalgic feeling i get thinking about the game, words cant really describe it. Been following this project for years, 2025 cant come any sooner.
Same, I played Oblivion for the first time when I was in 5th grade or so. I spent so much time playing that game, it felt so big back then. Oblivion always has, and always will hold a special place in my heart because of that, and hearing all the old music and sounds in this video brought back so many memories.
@@pelatho yeah the lush greens and music definitely stuck in my mind. I don't know if it's just my memory but I remember a lot of the quests having a lot more openness to the way you do them
I want to thank you all for taking on this colossal project, and working so hard and consistently, without getting paid for it, to make a game that I believe will surpass Skyrim in many peoples eyes. You do realize how big that is right? Skyrim is one of the most successful RPGS ever. You remaking Oblivion to this quality, will at least equal what Bethesda did to release Skyrim. You're truly doing something huge here, and you'll have our gratitude forever.
I've only played Skyrim. So the first time I walked into Whiterun, I was impressed. But now I understand why seasoned Elder Scrolls fans found it underwhelming. The scale of the cities in Oblivion appear far more impressive.
Excellent work team TES Renewal Project! 😎 My ultimate wish, is being able to exlore the entire map of Tamriel all in one game, I'll call it Elder scrolls 10 for now. I also wish to still be alive, in order to play the massive game.
@@anderporascu5026nah we'll be into full on neurolinks before we see the Elder Scrolls 10. In fact WE may not be here. Hopefully our AI oppressors will continue the Elder Scrolls series.
@@bryanx0317AI being able to realistically experience fantasy worlds when I'm locked in my meat shell is the final straw, I'm gonna buy a cabin in the woods 😂😂😂
The attention to detail the team has put into this is outstanding. This might become the best version of an Elder Scrolls game to date. What your team have learned making this mod will help them tremendously in the next game they work on... Who knows maybe that might be ES6.
Can't wait for this. It's hard to believe Bethesda hasn't already remade the old es games and instead rereleased skyrim 100 times. We're lucky you guys are so passionate about this endeavor.
I mean what was bethesda supposed to do If they made an official one it would completely invalidate all the work that's gone into this and they're going to get a ton of hate for it, which they're getting a ton of hate for it for not remastering it so it's really just a lose-lose
@@ggodd1080true, but any other company wouldn't give a shit about a modding team, and shut this project down right away. It's pretty interesting tho, bc yea, you'd think they'd want to make money off of remastering/remaking their own games. But this is probably smarter on their part; the modding team does all the work, practically *remakes* the whole game instead of just a slight remaster (meaning the mods are probably providing a better experience than if Bethesda had done a simple remaster), and Bethesda will likely see at least a noticeable uptick in sales on the mods release. They didn't pour any money into the project like they would've had to on their own remaster, so those increased sales are just profit from free marketing. And don't get me wrong. Not saying Bethesda is a great company. I feel they've stagnated in their writing and game design over the last decade. But their understanding of the mod community's value to their player base and their support for the mod community is commendable, and beneficial all around.
@@skapunker96 My only problem with this is I have a PC but I recently lost all audio and it can just barely run Skyrim so I doubt I could be able to run it console players won't be getting this and there is a big chunk of the player base there modding on console is actually pretty popular cuz it's more streamlined and there is just generally fewer issues you're going to run into
This is so epic. Oblivion is a year older than I am and yet it feels like a defining part of why I got into videogames. Good luck and thank you, what youve accomplished so far is already a feat within itself!
Every update just gets me more amped up for this amazing game. Truly a work of art and manages to give me multiple layers of nostalgia while still capturing atmosphere and visuals better than most RPGs released in the last decade.
I can't wait. They nailed that high-saturation theme of Oblivion, while still increasing the graphical detail. Oblivion was my first RPG and I can't wait to experience it again in 2025!
@@anderporascu5026 You should read the lore of The Elder Scroll and look for the part about Oblivion and what happened to them. Many places were taken over by bandits and other things that made the world less alive...
This is a great example of consistency importance. Step by step, sometimes slower, sometimes faster, but finally you are almost there and it will be a Legendary Success.
Oblivion was my first venture into The Elder Scrolls and I completed it all the way through, Shivering Isles and all. It has a special place in my heart, I've always loved and favor it over Skyrim. What you have done here is nothing short of incredible, its a nostalgic trip like no other for me. I can't wait to play!
This all looks stunning, well done guys! 24:05 - The low sun shinning behind the trees above Weynon Priory is enchanting, I can't wait to see this for myself! The sound design of the inner forest is incredible too, I played Oblivion enough to hear the familiar bird calls but what you guys have added to this makes it so much more alive, thank you!
You guys are so good at what you do that you managed to make the Sword have a double incantation to make the player double jump. Amazing stuff guys, it's such a pleasure following along your project and your progress.
i've been following this for so long now and i can wholeheartedly say that i have never been more excited for anything in my entire life keep up the brilliant work you talented people
So hyped for this! Hard to believe its only a year away now, I remember when it was first announced, that was a very long time ago, the hard work and dedication is truly paying off!
Utterly stoked. Ty to everyone behind this, it's something to live for. I always thought if I got insanely rich I would give it all to Todd for an Oblivion remaster
I cannot wait. I was maybe 10 years old and Oblivion was basically one of the first games I really played A LOT. Despite the great mechanics, story and atmosphere, the engine really didn't age that well so I stopped coming back to it.. And since I mostly played games like gta sa and oblivion as a mere sandbox - I never did the quests. The feeling that I can soon re-live it and finally finish the main campaign is just incredible. Really looking forward for it and thank you for reviving my childhood!
Just commenting here to voice my excitement and appreciation for all the work you folks are putting in. Oblivion holds a special place in my heart - as I'm sure is the case for everyone watching here. I'm thrilled to visit Cyrodil again.
Crazy times we live in folks, been following this since 2016 and cannot believe that there is an end in sight. Beautiful work as always guys and look forward to not only seeing the excellent work you guys have put in, but how this will sculpt the future of modding (for Skyrim, large scale projects, and for the modding scene it will create itself)
"Rub your grey braincells together" is a phrase in my country, when something needs deep thinking. And results here are obvious & glorious; checked from every angle ❤. Leaving that power butterfly in as a feature is just 😚! Level of details and finishing touches...insane 🤯! Thank you guys and gals 🙏🏻!
teekeeus LOL great job on the mod the interiors and chorrol stood out to me the most as high quality as all get out. love the voicelines as well. incredible work all around
You can say what you want about Bethesda in a negative sense, but it's undeniable how supportive and welcoming they are to the modding community for all of their games. They are one of the few companies out there that don't file lawsuits or attack people for wanting to just be creative with their games. They actively encourage it and are supportive, and they also recruit people and give them jobs out of these projects. This is why fantastic projects like Skyblivion can exist and Fallout London, along so many others.
Still haven't even played oblivion because of this project. I could wait for another 5 years even. I enjoyed skyrim so much that no matter what I know the wait will be worth it. Love the passion and work put into this project.
Great work guys, can't believe what a great visive result you achieved particularly with armors. Well done; looking forward to see this project live. 👍
This is my all time favourite game and was a huge part of my childhood.. I had friends don’t worry, but I also found my imagination with this game and had multiple 1,000 hour characters. I haven’t played this game in ten years, and super excited to get back in with your version. Even if I have to buy a pc I will do it
Honestly guys oblivion has been my favourite game for nearly 20 years. Morrowind close second. I cannot thankyou enough for this incredible effort. I know im a voice amongst many but this is very close to my heart and means a lot. This game got me through so much in 2006 and it’s definitely the world I go to for comfort. I would ask one thing though. Please make the OG map accessible as an item. One of my favourite things about oblivion was the character menu. If we could get some of that back in some form that would be incredible!! I understand it’s not possible in creation engine but something would be awesome!!!
So weird to think that in 2 decades we’re having a complete remake of a classic RPG in it’s sequels engine, by fans entirely. Absolutely wild, and I really hope this goes on countless portfolios and these people continue or start working in the gaming industry. People with this kind of passion are so so needed.
I am very excited about this mod, appreciate the whole team and looks absolutely amazing. I always liked Oblivion, that was my first introduction to Elder Scrolls all the way back in 8th grade. I still remember playing this on my laptop all summer, it will be great to return with all these enhancements. Appreciate the whole team and work you guys are putting in, this looks really good.
your rendition of Brussef Amelion's armor set is elegantly beautiful. Finally it looks like an expensive pawnable item unlike it's original counterpart that looks like washed-out ebony leather lol. Really can't wait for 2025 to play this masterpiece. Kudos to all the hard working individuals/team involved with the project 💯
I'm only 20 but i started playing this awesome game when i'm 14, and as i started learning how to mod my game i came across this project 4 years back (pre-covid) and though i am as stoked as many players that have been waiting for this mod, i don't mind waiting much longer for the finished product, 2025 is right around the corner anyway.
