Honestly Gen 5 Gyms were some of the coolest they’ve ever been. The fact they all had unique themes in BW2 just made it that much cooler. I would sometimes go and stand still inside them just to listen to their music...

Alan Brito That’s not what I meant. Yes, the cannons and fans are the gym gimmick, but the main point of the gym was to inspire the player and present them with a new challenge. Everything went into that: new sprites, new mechanics, new music, the whole nine yards. Everything was thematic, tied to the gym leader. Eventually, it culminated in a hard fought battle with the gym leader. Contrast that with modern gyms, specifically the ones from Sword/Shield. They were very obviously designed from the gimmick first, then the experience afterwards. Take Milo’s gym, for example. Not only is it laughably easy, but there’s nothing special about it. No special music, no theme, nothing. Hell, without the game telling you that it was the grass gym, one would think it’s the normal type gym. It’s just a bland experience that ends in a bland battle with the same bland music.

The most dangerous gym in the entire series has its own great soundtrack. And it's even better due to this remix! Like, seriously? People being shot out of cannons should blast them to pieces, but not in the Pokemon universe. People being blown by a massive fan shouldn't be possible either. And getting smacked against a wall with that pressure would be bound to do some type of damage.

Legit though, Skyla had some neat gym designs, but she was really forgettable and was easy as hell to beat. She used Swoobat and Unfezant for God's sake. She 100% is positively remembered because she is hot and people want to have their Onix critical hit her Cloyster if you catch my cold. *and I mean they're not wrong and I would too but-*

@@Squishito If I'm being honest, the moment her gym hits is when I think the difficulty nosedives. Gyms 1-5 are genuinely challenging especially on a first playthrough. Gym 6 is where I feel there should've been 4 Pokémon on her team, and definitely a higher level because I was always overleveled for her.

@@cartercs1757 Exactly. 3 Pokemon teams for every gym leader was seriously lame in gen 5, Skyla and Brycen needed everything they could get. And unfortunately, the least difficult gyms are in the least exciting portion of the game too. Still though, Black and White at it's worst is miles ahead of X and Y at it's average. Despite Skyla and Brycen not recieving a lot of attention, I still remember every gym leader vividly and fondly in gen 5, I don't even remember the ones from gen 6.

(Sorry for bad english) so a month ago i bought a copy of black 2, in the cartridge there was a save where the player was in this gym, all the other trainers were defeated execpt for skyla, he probaly stopped playing the save because he couldnt beat her because of his underleveled pokemon that were around level 25-30 and a lv.39 lucario (probaly one of those kids who only cared about the cool looking pokemon). Soon i will restart the game, but before i did what i had to do, beating skyla to honor the save, by using some pokemon on the box and lots of potion, after some tries i managed to beat her, now im sure the save can rest in peace 🫡, i did tha for you, CRI.

Alright imagine this...when they decide to remake gen 5 they b/w and their respective sequels into one massive 80+ hr story split by the time skip and when you hit that time skip you start from the beginning level wise but the AI enemies would be smarter and would play at a higher skill level as well as pokedex data would carry over but not any pokemon you've caught, wild and trainer pokemon would put out more exp to compensate for the increased difficulty and once you reach the post game you can unlock the national dex and once you complete the unova dex you get access to the nature preserve where you can challenge hilbert/hilda from the first half of the game with the team you you used in the first half just scaled up to level 80 replaceing one pokemon with the opposite legendery from the game you pick (IE you pick white they will have zekrom) and once you beat them you gain access to your original team only now scaled up to lvl 80 minus the box legendary they used and you can buy the costume of the original avatar. once you complete the national dex you can go back and catch the shiny haxorus like in the original but you can also unlock the Super PWT where you can do all the regular battles from the regular one but now theyre scaled up to the max difficulty and level and would hold the hardest battles in the franchise and would offer duble the rewards.

Gen 5 had the best gym designs unfortunately ... unfortunately since we have 4 more gens who didnt manage to reach it ... i miss the graphics and gym designs plus having a slightly different gym theme everytime
