On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being extremely exposed, I would give it a 7 or 8. Once the sun comes up you're exposed almost the whole time.

Awesome! Were you a volunteer or a runner? There were times where I was so sick of carrying the gimbal. But in the end I'm glad I brought it.

No I was running. I saw you again at the Lewis turn around which was a hard point for me.

I'm debating on getting a 360 cam like the ginger runners uses on is last few videos. It's pretty smooth and you get all the sweet angles

Great race, great video, thanks for sharing! Maybe a dumb question from a non-ultra-runner, but why are you sometimes running and meeting face-to-face other runners? Shouldn't you all go in the same direction on the same paths?

Thanks for watching! For the vast majority of the race we are all going the same direction on the same trail. However, for 2 sections up to the peaks it is an "out and back" where you go out to the peak as a checkpoint and then you double back on the same trail until you get back to the route. I hope that makes sense. (btw- that was not a dumb question!)

Hi! I'm thinking about doing this as a training run in prep for a 50 mile race. What was the longest stretch of incline? Seems the first 9 miles or so to the top? Thanks! Video is awesome. Congrats!

You wouldn't be alone in using this as a training run. I bet half the runners in this race were training for the Bear 100 or another Ultra. And yes the first 9ish miles are the longest stretch but you have another stretch from around 13-19 (I think) and that is also some significant climbing. I hope that helps!
