I saw it described as Skynd being an unseen entity that is at these horrific scenes, not causing them, but cataloguing them. Similar to the reaper, he doesn't necessarily cause death, but he is there unseen witnessing it happen.

The young lady's look said it all. That chanting by $aber made it real ominous. Admittedly, my guts started to churn a bit during the build up of this video. I was in college when I came into my apartment, turned on the TV, and the news channel showed one of the kids covered in blood hanging out a second story window. Those moments you remember when the $--t gets real...

She can always come up with more. Even if she managed to actually do a performance for every story thus far, unfortunately there will always be more. Literally my friend was asking me tonight what would happen if she ran out of stories, and I was like, I guess we'd finally have peace. It's too bad that will never happen. I never leave a comment on a video but I just had to! I discovered SKYND last week and have been listening to then almost all week long. My hubby and I have been watching a lot of true crime stories and it captivated us as soon as we heard it. I saw the names of the songs and loved the concept before even listening to the songs. Then in the past days I started watching her videos and wow. I saw the interview where she says she’s but the story teller and boy can she tell a story. The lyrics are so well though, I noticed that when a lyric repeats itself often it’s because it’s an important fact of that case. Her videos are so captivating. It makes you want to look away in discomfort and at the same time you do not want to look away. So when I saw the reaction video of Columbine I had to watch it. I had chills watching it with you guys again. So happy I discovered them!!!

Yours is the first reaction channel I’ve seen cover this song. I love, love, love Skynd. She’s a true artist. Subscribed!! I graduated high school in 1996, so I still had friends in school when the Columbine shooting happened. It felt so relevant to me and sparked in me a desire to understand the psychology behind young kids who commit mass murder and also the kids who idolize them. So far, I haven’t seen any negative press about this video, which surprises me. People tend to get up in arms over hot button subjects, so I believe it’s a testament to her artistic choices that this video/song have not been met with anger.

Thanks Kristy for the sub. You are well and truly a Chugganut at heart. I'm also very glad that there has been no backlash in the press towards the video. We need more striking videos like this to remind us that things like this are still as relevant in 2020 as they were in 1999. Cant wait to hear what comes next from Skynd. If its anything like her previous works it's going to be AMAZING!
@Calistarius79
@Calistarius79 3 года назад
I obviously do not know... but I would not be surprised if part of why this song/video has not goten any negative press might be because the "general public" just do not know about the band Skynd and their music. Skynd is just not that well known outside of their audience yet, and as such might still be going under the radar of people who would/might criticize it. If Marilyn Manson had made and released this song/video, I am sure the critics would be crawling out of the woodworks.

This video gave me sooo much anxiety! I lived with my sister and my nephews last year and I would hear them getting ready in the morning for school. A few times I heard them talking about and going over ALICE drills, which are the active shooter drills here in America. The fear and anxiety that comes over you when you are listening to a 6 and 8 year old going over what to do if there is a shooter at school fills you with so much dread! Like they were talking about pushing desks against the door or possibly tackling the shooter or doing something to distract the shooter to save their classmates. Every time I heard them go over this I wanted to cry and be like WTF??? Why would you put yourself in danger? I asked them this one morning and they told me "But if I can save my friends of course I will" Like what do you even say to that???? When I was their age I had fire and earthquake drills, no where near the same thing! I never had to worry about potentially dying when I was dropped off at school.

It was so powerful too, to have him let the girl go, not just because they did let some people go. But all the problems with survivors guilt etc, she got let go, her friend wasn't let go and she got away. She had to run away and leave her behind. People think of the dead yes, and the trauma directly from the scene , but never think these people had to or out of chance got away, while their friends did not.

I know the topics that SKYND chooses to go over are dark, but I respect them for doing it. They are not trying to make the killers some form of "star". This isn't for them. Their music is for the victims, done in their memory, and to those impacted by it. Not to mention to bring light to the subject. As the end quote said "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it".

I was 21 when Columbine happened and my daughter was 2, as a parent I was disappointed. The killers were victims in their own way, every single one of those kids from the shooters to their victims were failed by their parents and schools. We have a bad habit of waiting for crap to hit the fan before we do anything, those boys clearly needed help of some sort and there was NO reason those parents should have missed that. The parents to the bullies failed because you KNOW when your kid is the type, personality and behavior for bullies isn't something that just goes away. The school failed the Innocents caught in between, when they didn't take action of an escalating situation. Before Columbine happened there were kids across America getting caught for bringing knives and weapons to schools and bullies would get caught using them to threaten their victims. There were many people like me and those that even went to Columbine who knew a shooting was coming, but no one really expected it to be their school, which made it more dangerous because everyone was watching the news and not what was happening around them. They were watching the news, but seemed to forget that they someone was going to end up on it.

It is not that shocking lol love to see them watch any horror movie if they think this is bad

this is not something to be compared to horror movies. This is terrifying and anxiety filling just because it can happen to anyone and well it's based on real thing and not some fictional bull crap

I just found skynd because is her Chris Watts song. She blows me away! The videos are thought provoking and intense. She definitely does her research and she catches the small details and puts them in her songs. Like with Columbine she says “no vendetta seeking fame” which is what really happened not because they were bullied like the media pushed at the time.

Not going to lie, it's not my favourite SKYND song, though the clip is agian REALLY well done. Small suggestion, if you need another "underground, unsigned and upcoming band" : check out Nova Twins. They just happened to win the HMA for breakthrough UK Band but for some reason there are no reactions to them. Taxi is a fun video, Play Fair is their latest clip. Enjoy:D

@Faeryn Winters that was a rather random comment, wasn't it?

I guess technically they are a duo yes. I always forget about how involved The Father is in the entire musical processes

They are a duo, Skynd is the singer while Father takes on more of a producer and instrumentalist vibe

OMG. Stop talking and looking at each other and pay attention to the video. You probably missed half of the lyrics and a lot of the substance by doing this.

In the USA, this band should get banned everywhere
