@@Ratmanbiggy the thieves guild doesn't count, they have their own hide out in the rat ways which can be accessed outside the city walls. In the city itself Kajiit aren't welcome
1. Kahjiits refer to their different breeds as, "furstocks". 2. There are 17 confirmed furstocks, though only 9 have ever been shown in games. 3. All khajiit children are born the same and then morph into their furstock as they grow. 4. According to Khajiit creation lore they were originally a race of shapeshifting forest dwellers and were given their permanent cat forms by Azura.
It would have been interesting in Skyrim to have at least one "wood elf" khajiit who travelled with the caravans and could enter cities under the guise of being a bosmer
Something hilarious: let's say that "wood elf" is a female and gets interest of very high ranking noble or even an emperor (because why not?). Couple months later pet kitty heir is born...
@@mateuszslawinski1990 Noble Husband: What is this?! Why did you give birth to a damn cat?! "Wood Elf": Because, this one is a Khajiit. Noble Husband: WHAT?! YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU WERE A KHAJIIT!!! "Wood Elf": You did not ask this one if she was.
@@szabok1999 Woah crikey, check out this Skeever?! Now, this little fella can give you a pretty nasty bite, definitely a risk of getting rockjoint, but I'm gonna jump in here and pick one up
@@Elrond_Hubbard_1 woah crikey! Check out this big fella, this is called a Giant and since its so *giant* i cant pick it up but i can tear his toe off... *Fighting sounds* CRIKEY! WHERE AM I!? *Skyrim Space Station*
A lot of cats love affection. If a cat points his/her nose to the ground and gives you a head butt, they are actually saying, 'I love you.' In the Shivering Isles dlc for Oblivion Sheogorath asks, 'Who puts cats in bags, anyway? Cats hate bags.' More BS. Cats love to play in bags, especially paper bags that make a lot of noise. I know a lot about cats. I didn't get a dog until I was in my late teens. Until I always had at least one cat.
@@vivianwing2341 congratulations for know so much about cats but it could be said that the person who said "cats hate bags" is just insane, because everyone in the Shivering Isles are insane.
@@AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH Of the person who said that is insane. It was Sheogorath himself who said it. And I know so much about cats because I always had at least one cat until I was well into my teens, when I got my first dog. Many of my cats loved to play in paper bags and make a lot of noise. From a certain age I would help the grandma who helped raise me take care of our cats, and learned even more. When I got my first dog she started teaching me how to care for dogs. I used a lot of what she taught me to get an eight month old Chihuahua puppy through parvovirus. The Chihuahua, who I named Duchess, celebrated her fifth birthday last month and is doing wonderfully. I used what grandma taught me to get the puppy to start eating again. It was the first time I had to take care of such a sick puppy on my own, but I did it.
I remember when I was a wee lad I had always picked the argonians because I thought it was more lore friendly and cool because they looked like the dragons I faced lol
Except that the Dragonborn's Nordic. Native to Skyrim with the Nord being the Native. I always lol'd thinking that a Nord had a child with a Khajit/Argonian. An Orc is just Beer goggles.
"M'aiq is tired now. Go bother somebody else". One of my (and probably everyone else's) favorite characters in any Elder Scrolls game is the mysterious roadside kitty cat with the rumors.
I laughed myself nearly to death with I first saw my khajiit character's ears pull back when she 'felt threatened'. All I could think was, how freaking perfect!!!!
There's one thing I've wanted this game to acknowledge for the races, quests you can do based on your characters race doing various things and only as that race, that would give replaying a lot more value with each race.
Lol in Skyrim one of the NPC called me a Nord (i almost always play as a kahjit) and that the caravans don't even acknowledge the fact your also a kahjit in a place where they are rare is confusing to me.
It's odd how picky they are about it, because there's also details like in "Diplomatic Immunity" that a properly disguised High Elf can breeze through the quest in broad daylight.
Imagine if you pick a Kahjit and the guards wouldn't let you in until you've proven yourself by doing quests for people outside the walls or paid a fine, but at the same time can fast travel anywhere for free using kahjit caravans. It would be cool!
There is just one point where this happens in plain vanilla:? If you se talmor robes and is an altmer you can walk arfound the thalmor without conflict
@@pedroivantaveraferreira3037 Well, the orc strongholds also let you in immediately if you are an orc, otherwise you have to befriend one of the orcs living in a city, or get some book.
The void nights resulted in thousands of "lost manes" Kahjiit meant to lead their race but unable to because the old mane still reigned. Which is the best explanation for a kahjiit dragon born
I literally could not live in a world with khajiits. This would be me every time I see one: Me: (stares) Khajiit: (looks uncomfortably around) Me:(still stares) Khajiit:.... Does one need khajiit's help? Me: (quietly)... Can I pet you?
2 things: 1) there are theorised to be more than 20 khajiit breeds, including the Mane, but 12 (13 with Mane) are documented. 2) during the void nights, Khajiit may have been born as Suthay (Massar new/Secunda new) which are similar to Ohmes and look like Bosmer - could ve an interesting plot point for the next ES game
Are we sure Ysolda isn't secretly one of the more 'Human' looking Khajiit? It would explain why she gets such good deals, maybe shes trading as the face of them and setting up a way into the cities and respectability for the Khajiits.
I feel that we Khajits have a reputation that doesn't reflect us as it should. We assure you that we all have good intentions. Now, would you like to buy some skooma or sell your stolen goods? Edit:No one ever likes my comments so ty kind stranger
Always loved the idea of two allfiq that have three kids, one looking like an elf, one the typical cat/elf/human hybrid, and one the giant sabretooth. Which is always my backstory when i play as one lol.
Do you play as the elf one or the more Khajiit one? You could play as a wood elf and say that you are a Khajiit :p Also, there's a mod for The more elfcat looking Khajiit
@@ThatGuyNyan Is he? Are you sure? Theories abound and nothing Miaq says can be trusted. He's privy to knowledge no mortal should hold and reveals his knowledge mixed with lies to keep you guessing which is true and which is false. He knows where the dwarves are, he knows that the hero of cyrodil and sheogorath are the same person, he knows about the actual birth parents of each main character. Regardless of which race you chose. He's completely and utterly unique in all of the series.
Before video: “Okay, my favorite race and one that I’ve studied a bit more extensively than others; let’s see what Nate’s got for this one.” *after point #4*: “Wait what? That can happen? I know who I’m marrying on my next character!”
The part about them not being allowed in walled cities-I was in heading towards the ragged flagon and a khajiit tried to assassinate me underground. So to get there she theoretically would have had to come into the city.
i imagine alot like our own after all each game was set to look ike certain places on earth but extremely modified to fit the game at least thats what i heard and thats what they are doin with elder scrollls six
A tiny detail I discovered today is that Draugr can be hit by rune spells while still in their coffins. I wanted to set up traps in Dustman's Cairn for the horde that was going to arrive but it actually hit them and caused them to attack me. I was able to take them out on my own time using this method rather than facing them in waves like I usually do after getting the Word Wall/Shards of Wuuthrad.
I kept waiting for a double joke after he said raid. Like “like x sheets aren’t real so here is our real sponsor. Raid shadow leg...got you again!” But it kept going =(
A Khajiit can also be found in the town of Riften if you do the Dragonborn main questline to get Esburn, they are sent there to try and kill you and can be seen in town before you even go down into the ratway.
There's actually a total of 16 Khajiit breeds. Their breeds are dependent on the phases of Nirn's twin moons, Masser and Secunda. Masser's phase decides whether the Khajiit is a large/small quadruped/biped, and Secunda's phase decides which specific breed. I'll keep it as a simple list: Masser Full (Large Quadruped): Secunda Full: *_Senche:_* The Senche is a fierce, tiger like Khajiit not unlike the Pahmar-raht and is roughly the size of an Altmer when standing on its hind legs. The Senche is also one of the few Khajiit to be used as a steed by other Khajiit. This is thought to be voluntary, but is unconfirmed. Secunda Waxing: *_Senche-Raht:_* The Senche-raht is by far the largest of known Khajiit breeds, standing at twice the size of any Altmer. These Khajiit received the term "battlecats" for their use as steeds, though they are slower than their Senche counterparts. Secunda New: *_Pahmar:_* Sharing the appearance of a Tiger, the Pahmar is usually just as large and fearsome. Secunda Waning: *_Pahmar-Raht:_* Similar in appearance to the Pahmar, but is much larger, stronger and fiercer. Masser Waxing (Large Biped): Secunda Full: *_Cathay:_* The Cathay are a relatively common type of Khajiit seen throughout Cyrodiil and Skyrim. They're larger and stronger than Suthay-raht. Secunda Waxing: *_Cathay-Raht:_* Still maintaining their agility, the Cathay-Raht are larger and more powerful jaguar-like Khajiit, often described as "jaguar-men." Secunda New: *_Tojay:_* There is little known of the Tojay, other than that it prefers the Tenmar Forest and southern marshes and jungles of Elsweyr. Secunda Waning: *_Tojay-Raht:_* Little is known of the Tojay-raht, other than that it is larger than the Tojay and lives in the same area. Masser New (Small Biped): Secunda Full: *_Ohmes:_* Almost indistinguishable from Bosmer, the only notable anatomical difference between the Ohmes and Bosmer is the Ohmes' shorter height. Secunda Waxing: *_Ohmes-Raht:_* Similar in physiology and appearance to the Ohmes, the Ohmes-Raht differ in stature, being closer to the height and appearance of Men, except for their golden fur and tail. Secunda New: *_Suthay:_* Similar in height to the Ohmes but with much more cat-like features including high set ears and facial features, a long tail and digitigrade legs. Secunda Waning: *_Suthay-Raht:_* Suthay-raht have similar features to the Suthay but are taller, around the height of Men. Suthay-raht are the most common breed seen in Morrowind. Masser Waning (Small Quadruped): Secunda Full: *_Alfiq:_* Small in stature and a quadruped, the Alfiq resemble housecats. Secunda Waxing: *_Alfiq-Raht:_* Little is known of the Alfiq-raht, other than that it is larger than the Alfiq. Secunda New: *_Dagi:_* Larger in stature than the Alfiq, the Dagi are lanky, lightweight Khajiit that typically live atop the branches of trees. Secunda Waning: *_Dagi-Raht:_* Only slightly larger than the Dagi, the Dagi-raht still live atop the branches of trees like their cousins.
the Bosmer were also true natives to tamriel, as they used to be shapeshifting creatures forced to choose a form by Yphre. It's believed that this is also the orgin of the Khajiit.
The Khajiit ear back-folding was a thing in Oblivion too in the speech minigame (maybe in combat too?). About the Void Nights, I think the High Elves did it on purpose so later they can "save" the Khajiit and gain their alliance.
Some suspect that, upon the first founding of the Aldmeri Dominion, they did something similar by creating an artificial disease that nearly eradicated the Khajiit and to a lesser extent the Bosmer, before creating a cure and using it to leverage the Khajiit into the Dominion. To put it very roughly, that is - it's been a while since I've played ESO.
Fun fact: each breed of Khajiit has a secondary variant indicated by the suffix -raht. Breeds ending in -Raht tend to be larger, more intelligent, and much stronger than their standard counterparts.
@@VINCE-pp3es depending on who was the female and who was the male, it may not be that weird. small male dogs get with bigger females ALL the time, and usually there's no issue. it's only when it's reversed it becomes dangerous since the mother has to birth puppies much bigger than her body should be able to handle.
Somehow, I think the void nights were simply a giant illusion. I am fairly certain the two moons of Tamriel have similar power over the ocean currents, that our moon has over our oceans. Their disappearance could do more than simply determine what kind of kitty is born.
I would love to see those four legged and two legged khajite running along the shore yeeting Spears and lobbing arrows at the big wooden boat and it’s crew. All of them shout in the third person about killing all the invaders and such. The amount of shitting that crew did through that must of been legendary. Glory to the fierce cat people!
@@randomcatname7792 Everything has a limit. "Hello everyone, this Video is sponsored by Hitler. He wasn't actually that bad guys, listen!" You wouldn't like that, would you? Raid is absolute cancer
The elves also claimed that they ended the oblivion crisis on their own. I think that its more likely Azura might have gotten angry at the Khajiit and blocked out the sun. Then she made them re appear, and the thalmor were like "Hey guys we did that!" The thalmor are powerful, but not that powerful.
18:09 - That would make a lot of sense from the Thalmor perspective. If the theory on the towers is correct then the Thalmor want to wipe out all of the "lesser races" as part of ascending back to godhood, but presumably not other elven races. If they're not sure whether the Khajiit count as a "lesser race" or as an elven race then it would make sense for them to try and find out. And the moons are supposedly part of Lorkhan. Maybe they thought that Lorkhan's corruption had mutated their elven brethren into a "lesser race" and they might be able to "save" them this way. And maybe others thought that wasn't the case at all. So in other words, they'd want to do this experiment to find out whether the Khajiit are merely a "corrupted" elven race to be saved or a "lesser race" to be wiped out with the rest.
You can come up with as many outlandish theories as you like about the disappearance of the moons, but we all know the truth: it was a glitch that got fixed in the 4E100 patch. This is Bethesda we’re talking about after all, we all know it was just a random bug!
Eh I think it as planned.. But that's just me! It could've been a glitch but I think it was planned lol Please don't hate me😅 Edit: why are you talking bad about Bethesda? They made the fallout series and the elderscrolls so maybe don't? Thanks!
Khajiits are very useful for missions, because of their sneak levels already and others, they have a better time getting the sneak missions done than anything else, but because they are overused to most Skyrim players, it makes them very easy to make memes of. Truly though, khajiits are very VERY useful, since most missions (that I’ve done) are sneak missions already.
That Khajjit caravan wedding info was very fascinating. Always looking to make a bit of coin those sly felines! Great video. Ultimately, you gave me the race for my next character build! Thank you for the great videos Nate !
Wait wait, men arrived tens of thousands of years after elves, but one of the first elven explorers’ writings is 15,000 years ago? Did you mean 150,000?
Nah, that's just Nate being bad with numbers. He also once claimed that ESO takes place thousands of years before Skyrim, which is not true either. It's only about 1000 years in the past. Basically, when it comes to numbers and such, take Nate's words with a grain of salt.
I just watched a Fact Fiend video about how slimy the Raid Shadow Legend sponsor contracts are. This ad fits all the criteria. Every advert is almost the exact same, including the fake product beforehand
Alana Hann I used to watch Fact Fiend all the time until I found out how anti-fan Karl Smallwood is. Dude muted me in his twitch chat just for asking what his favorite type of videos to make were. Blocked hundreds on Insta and Twitter for making video topic suggestions.
