Great list! The crazy thing is these are just the graphics mods! The range of mods this game can have is astounding. There's so many overhauls to the gameplay (ordinator is probably the single best mod available, Sekiro-style fighting is fantastic, spell overhauls, etc.), that make the experience better, new locations like Bruma, and the entirety of the contiguous continent of Tamriel all being worked on in Beyond Skyrim, new characters fully voiced and integrated for the game, there's multiplayer (still buggy, but it definitely works). Oh, and now they're working on making it so you can literally talk with your NPCs using voice recognition input mods and AI vocal reconstruction and text-to-speech mods to turn all NPCs into a fully voiced AI chatbot that uses a database containing information about the NPC you're talking with, your current location in the game, as well as information about all accepted and completed quests, and a little bit of extra leeway to come up with lore-friendly responses that can at times be quite relevant. Granted it's got all the ups and downs of being an AI chatbot, but it's one that's also 'sworn to carry your burdens' and will kill things alongside you. This may be a very old game, but it doesn't feel old once you get it fully modded with 4k graphics, a new contemporary battle system, and talent trees that make class-building an absolute joy. This game will still be alive and well when Elder Scrolls 6 finally arrives in another 10 years.
your videos are so crazy underrated. you include a before and after to every mod and your editing is also super fun to watch. keep up the good work and hopefully you'll get the recognition you finally deserve !
I never left comments on videos but you clearly deserve one, i've also been editing videos and the quality of yours is just incredible, huge respect to you for the before > after, recording must be hard as you have to able/disable some mods, i've subscribed to your channel not so long ago but damn, I enjoy your content, hope you'll continue to post videos of skyrim for a long time !
I'm the same way, so I appreciate your comment more than you know! Thank you so much for the overflowing compliments, I'm so happy you recognize the effort this video took, so thank you again. Glad to have you here and I do hope so too!! :D
I love Glorious Doors of Skyrim! You think that you won't need to retexture doors, but think again. You're constantly going through doors and you see those textures all the time.
I think i have more fun seeing if these mods work well in my game and imagining myself playing a finished modlist, than actually playing my finished modlist, it never ends 😢 thanks for the video!
Fabled Forrest looks really good! I've never tried it, but I want to. I recently found one called Dark Forests of Skyrim, and I'm loving it right now. It adds dead looking trees and new forrest areas. It's great and really gives the forests a fantasy vibe without it being too much, and it really changes how skyrim feels. It fits so well! Edit: Also it uses the trees from 3D Trees and Plants by mathy79. If you like that mod definitely checkout Dark Forests.
When this video was over I found myself missing the calming nature of your voice!! My lord woman I subscribed to your channel to never miss it again. Don’t get me wrong, amazing video and great editing. I’m definitely going to check some of these mods out. All thanks to you and your beautiful accent😂
I'm from Brazil! Your voice is very cute :3 Thanks for the mod tips. I was in doubt how to set up my skyrim in the midst of so much variety, your recommendations fell very well!
@@BardsCollegeGraduate So after I posted this, I did a lot of digging and found out I needed to use xLODGen before TexGEN and DynDOLOG. It took a few hours to generate, but it was well worth it!!! 😊
Love your videos! I was taking up a break for skyrim modding and it's about a year and a half already, this video made me want to come back to it! i have a LOT of mods saved up over the time i was on break as to not miss out on them lol, and this just adds to that list so thank you!
Aww thank you! In these year and a half, there has been some of the best new mod releases I've seen. Come back to modding when you can, you're in for a treat!
I Highly recommend the PredCaliber preset for Rudy for cathedral. Its a significant upgrade to the same enb that can be found on the predcaliber "12 years of Skyrim Ultimate Graphics Tutorial" page on the nexus as part of his next gen overhaul. Its an upgrade without switching enb
Ohh I'll definitely check that one out, thank you for the suggestion! Always looking for more ways to improve the look of the game, and if it's still Rudy ENB, perfection
@@BardsCollegeGraduate yep you just dropped the files and overwrite the existing Rudy ones but it uses the same base and requirements. It seems to be most noticeable in dungeons in which they get realistically dark. You may also find some stuff on the tutorial page that you may be interested in. Also since you use JK Skyrim I highly recommend you check out the mod JK Skyrim fix for ugly totems in Moss AKA beautiful Whiterun and solitude. It's an amazing addition to JK Skyrim that significantly improves the looks of Whiterun stairways by adding various banners clutter and walkways as well as removing the ugly Ivy texture from Solitude and adding cool architecture to cover up the harsh edges. I also highly recommend you use the interior and wood textures as well as any other building/banner/carving textures from clevercharifs Whiterun especially since it makes dragons reach look incredibly Royal and Regal especially when combined with JK's dragons reach and red bags Dragon reach
Excelent video! :D I remember I installed some of them in my last playthrough but I definitely should have tried MOAR mods like the doors one even though they are "just" doors like you said xD. Vinland Grass Patch makes me feel I have no enemies... (I hope someone understands the reference xDD) Also, I think I had to uninstall Lux because everytime I looked at any light I got framedrops because of my 8 years old CPU I suppose... and yours is better than mine so... 🙃
Hi, You make some absolutely enthralling videos that are well fascinating and I was curious if you could ever make a video based on How to make better looking Player Characters with mods ofc. Thanks for reading well i hope you read this anyway!
I would love to see your load order. Mostly because I'm curious as to where you put mods in the order. LOOT is a great tool, but there are other variables.
Just read up the mod pages, they usually have guides on how to arrange the load order! Then I just lock them out, so they won't move when I do the comparison scenes. edit. But I won't upload the load order anywhere, because I'm definitely not an expert modder, and I download and try out mods all the time, which can cause incompabilities/crashes/wrong load orders, which I don't want to be responsible for those who copy it! Hope you understand :(
For the grass mod you use, I got better performance from it once I downsized the textures in Flora Orientalis. For some reason the textures in that mod are 8k.
I hear you there I have a reocurring crash in the Riften Jail. Its skeleton torch related that may also be animation related lol Animation Variance I recently got rid of to see if that fixes it the weird thing is it only crashes when I have a torch.
@@methos154 Mine was The Great Cities of JK's North. First it was broken textures, then Winterhold having structures mashed togethrer then Occlusion problems and the current one being the bridge entry making the buildings disappear. Probs more efps patches needed.
Hey. Great video showcase of mods for Skyrim. You know what would be SUPREMELY helpful for your viewers? A 'mods for dummies' tutorial on how to install and run these mods. When I try to install mods for Skyrim, I see all types of warnings about 'don't install this mod until you've installed these other 3 mods!' or 'this mod won't work if you have these 3 mods installed! Uninstall 2 of them first before'...yeah. It's disheartening for beginner PC players.
I'm not sure if it's too late to have you see this (anyone else who knows what they're doing is welcome to help as well), but should my mod order be the same as the order you listed here? I'm new to modding but I adore the way yours looks, so I'm trying my best to figure this out!
There was a youtube channel called Lady of Scrolls and the girl who ran it disappeared all of a sudden from the face of the internet some years ago. Your voice kind of sounds like hers although you have a much more notable accent.
Hi, im having some trouble when trying to install a couple of these mods is there anyway you could possibly help me ? im trying to get my game super fancy with grass textures added buildings etc and some of these mods listed are not as simple as just installing them using mod manager etc (hence why i am having trouble)
You should really have mentioned for lux that you need to download certain options in the installer. It was very annoying having to reinstall lux three times because you mentioned mods later in the video. Great video besides this.
Well, sure! Always remember to check individual load orders from the mod pages if something doesn't look right. Modding has a learning curve, so just keep trying and learning as you go, and you'll be fine :)
you can improve majestic mountains terrible textures with northfires photoreal mountains for majestic mountains, why would you not showcase a superior mod like that?
You did it again, I have so much respect for creators like you who present the comparision of every mod showcase. Ik it takes a lot of time and effort to record and edit these and I appreciate that. Thanks for an amazing showcase❤
There IS a way to get all those frames back! Community Shaders. Same ENB effects without the framerate hit, more features are getting added to the framework and you can control it all in game which saves having to close the game, fiddle around with config files, reload the game, then change the file again. The Light Limit Fix is nearly done too!
Ahhh them pesky Community Shaders! I'll just wait more for it to develop, and it's hard to leave ENB after 10~ years xD But I'm open to it, when the time comes!!
Fair enough :) I switched fairly early because my PC is getting old and I damn near would have to take out a loan if I wanted a new one today with how expensive parts are to do exactly what it to (anything you can possibly throw at it and it doesn't break a sweat). I've seen the new presets though since the Light Limit Fix release the other and OH MY GOD! Can't wait for the video if you decide to cover it! You can use CS's menu to switch between different presets on the fly in game which is kind of cool. This is coming from someone who tediously had to install, uninstall, test and decide between RealVision, Opetheldt, and ReEngaged for 2011 Skyrim. Such a chore back then lol
I used to be sad that a RU-vidr I liked doesn’t do Skyrim mod showcases anymore. But now I’m really happy that nowadays there are a lot of RU-vidrs like you who are making videos because they’re always highly polished, covering mods I’ve never heard of or have in my mod list (which is really validating because it makes me feel like I’m in the know), and are always presented beautifully! Thank you for your hard work your videos are always fantastic to watch!! Also me saying there’s a lot of mod showcases being made is not supposed to be disrespectful towards you. I’m really really glad people are passionate about Skyrim modding like me and are making videos and I’m glad that you’re among them!
Aww such a sweet comment!! Thank you, and I'm so glad there's still such a wide interest in Skyrim mods and Skyrim mod videos, since I've also been passionate about modding for a long time, and love combining it with visual storytelling.
Considering the fact that lilson hasn't yet further polished the male side of Skyrim's NPCs, I suggest checking out nightmarezome over at nexus. For the NPC replacers outside of Whiterun region I use her overhauls since they closely resemble the realism which lilson creates with his own Dibellas Blessings mod for the female NPCs.
I like using pfuscher's texture parallax with bjorn enb reshade, but I guess realistic look is very overrated and not performance friendly but I really like the feeling everytime I launch skyrim and it immerses me into a new realistic world. And I also added pfuscher's mods AIO which adds high poly misc objects paired high poly project and SMIM. This way I don't miss a single object that isn't modded😅
@@BardsCollegeGraduate yeah it is very nice! But I usually have 30-40 fps in places with lots of clutters like jk's overhauls considering I have a very potato PC but I really don't mind as long as it's still playable😁
Hey, I saw this comment, and I wanted to say that you can use Noble Skyrim with Pfusher. You put Noble Skyrim first and and then Pfuscher 202X after it. This combo allows you to have appearance you get from Noble skyrim loaded into the game first, and then Pfuscher 202X overwrites it and ups everything from 2k to 4k or 8k depending on which version you downloaded. I just wanted to share that, and this video was great! 👍
I don't know exactly how it works technically, but I just know that I tried both separate because I thought you could only use one. I saw where someone combined them by putting Noble first and I absolutely loved it when I tried it.
Is It possible for you to do a video of YOUR gameplay overhaul mods? I've been out of the modding scene for a while and i don't know if any of the old one are up to date or not, or if there are any new ones I should look out for. *Edit: Scratch that, when looking at the mods and requirements, I immediately got overwhelmed. It it possible to do your full modlist WITH basic step-by-step? I know this is asking a lot and I'm sorry for that.
Hahah absolutely no problem asking and I always appreciate suggestions and video ideas! But yes, at the moment it seems unlikely, because of the state of my modlist and the vastness of it. But I'll definitely keep it in the back of my mind! Thanks for being so interested!
I'm setting up my first modded playthrough of Skyrim, I've already added 300 mods, and through ALL the videos on modding that I've found on youtube, yours are probably the best. You have consistently fantastic, neat, and to the point videos. I can't thank you enough, you've been incredibly helpful.
@@BardsCollegeGraduate Thank you! I have my fingers crossed that it works. I'm trying to do a one and done last playthrough of Skyrim, so I'd be devastated if when I finally get all the mods it just crashes on my constantly haha In any case, Yeah you've been incredibly helpful! For me as a beginner I love seeing all your showcases that either compare mods in a category (like your 9 tree mods video, omg that was amazingly helpful.) Or videos that go over a certain category to overhaul, like seriously, your videos are so focused and clean.
I love your modding vids, they're great! I have half these mods already and would get Vinland if it wouldn't kill my PC - will have to make do with Skoglendi. Natural Waterfalls and Skyland might be about to be added too. About the only thing I wasn't sold on was Lux Via. I already had Skyrim Bridges and did not see Lux Via's bridges as an improvement. Nicely crafted stone bridge suddenly becomes a ramshackle wooden thing that looks like it'll collapse if you try and get a cart over it? No thanks.
Thank you! Vinland truly is a menace, but what a beautiful menace it is, sigh. :D I can see what you mean with Lux Via bridges, and that does make sense!
I tried Lux a couple of weeks ago but it fail to me... I mean, main menu CTD..... I think it's because I am using EVLaS and that it's a game changer for me because it gives volumetric light and shadows and realtime directional light meaning that mountains(and pretty much everything) will project shadows when the sun or moon are behind them.....!! I just love it. Also, nice video, lovely!!!
This is an awesome list but i bothers me that you had to always justify and borderline defend many of your choices (im sure that's not your intention) because some douches out-here will come for you with the argeuement of frame-rate drops and etc. i think people worry too much about frame-rate even though the eye has a really hard time seeing the difference in live time above 80fps to begin with. Skyrim was a game built around the framework of 2K Resolution and 30fps. Even Skyrim SE / AE are truly still built around that same foundation. So when there's all this combative language about textures/appearance vs frames/play. If you can run 4K textures at above 30fps (even if its just barely) then you're already outperforming the original development of a 12-year-old game. Im very new to modding and have never played Skyrim outside of its vanilla version until a few months ago. So iv ahd a steep learning curve but always quickly found out about the weird division in the modding community (a community that is mostly united though) I have a very similar rig to your PC build but i know that i'll have a hard-time running 4K textures and i just don't want to deal with any stuttering or ctd's from build over-load. So im comfortable with my high 2K textures at 60FPS (anyone trying to run the 12 year oid game at a higher frame-rate are truly just fooling themselves). At the end of the day, Cathedral Weathers/Landscapes/Water, and Better Trees by themselves already turned the environment for me into a whole new experience, and JK's Skyrim w/ Immersive Interactions already makes the cityscapes feel completely overhauled. I included Pandorables NPC's, High-Poly Head, Racemenu, CBBE (3BA(/Himbo, and Improved Alternative Camera + DBVO make Skyrim feel more like a last generation title rather than a game that released two generations ago. Then when you add things like modded followers and quest expansions. Skyrim can easily transform into a whole new experience whether your mod-list is textured heavy or not. All of that to say, im happy that we can all try to just meet each other where we're at. Your mod-list are great and iv definitely taken some of your advice in prior videos and implemented into my build. Please keep making these type of videos, as they're very helpful.
I was thinking about your comment, and yeah, reflected a bit on my flaw of prematurely disclaimering things so that I could lessen the chances of me getting into any sort of conflict... in RU-vid, all videos should be viewed with the idea of a subjectivity being implied, so having to defend myself before there is anything to defend is counterproductive. Your modding journey sounds awesome, just a perfect way to go about it if you're new at modding in 2023 me thinks. Thanks for the comment!
Hello! Firstly, after the dozens on dozens of videos that my eyes inhaled, THIS is the one that got me to buy the Skyrim-SE on steam. Issue is, I didn't catch wind of the recent update about Bethesda adding mods and an update that kinda botched a lot of mods. Being new to the modding scene with my fresh hot little gaming toaster, I am a bit of a lost to how to go about a few of the mods on the list or their Reqs. Is the solution currently to just roll back the version from 1.6.1130.0 over to a previous one? I just need a pointing finger to which version to set everything up for, I just don't want to go down the very long req list to get some of the downloads but find out a version mismatch is the issue. Any help is kindly appreciated from you Tube-of-You gurus
Hey can you help me 😢 I need advice. I'm trying to build a gaming pc so far I got a Asus tuf gaming x570 plus motherboard, I'm thinking of getting a Ryzen 5600g and 16gb ram. And don't know what GPU. I want to play Skyrim with your mods. I don't know the requirements.
Sorry, I'm not an expert on any other PC's than my own, I suggest you consult other corners of internet for this :( although probably can't go wrong with a beefy GPU with good memory!
I wish I could make a complete and curated modlist to my own taste lol like you said, but I play on Xbox and so many good stuff like enb, folkvangr, etc aren’t on Xbox :(
I'm new in modding and this video helped me a lot in discovering new visuals and gameplay. The fun about mods is that you can create your own mixes. For example, I dont use grass or terrain textures cause the vanila gives me a oldschool gaming vibe lol. But the water ones is a must have. I also prefer vanila characters and npc. Great vid!
Thanks! Modding is definitely (for me at least) about ccoking up your own mix- and making the experience completely tailored to your needs. Good luck in your modding journey! :)
i've been using Fabled Forests ever since it was released. it's a truly fantastic mod (now that the original bugs have been ironed out) that has quickly become my favorite tree mod. i've been using the "mythical" variant, which makes the trees HUGE and adds to the forboding environmental tone of the wilderness. it has virtually no impact on performance as well, which is a plus for me as i prefer gameplay over screenarchery. some of the other mods you mentioned i have been using as well such as Majestic Mountains and Glorious Doors of Skyrim, both of them great in their own right. i didn't know about Natural Waterfalls, so i'll be checking that out next. thanks for this video and informing us on your load order.👍
Ooh a Fabled Forests Mythical forest variant user! :D Those trees look amazing, but maybe a tad TOO huge for me xD Thanks for watching and absolutely my pleasure!
Although I must admit that your npcs look way better than mine, I still prefer cathedral npcs. One single mod to change every npc in the game! I especially adore the new khajit and argonian textures. ♥
Lots of lots of time, I remember modding this game couple of years back ago, the time consuming for every detail is stunishing , of course it was very fun and addictive to improve every aspect of the game mod to mod, until you finally make the perfect environment and atmosphere that Skyrim has, I can say that I didn’t get there, that’s why I thank you for doing this modlists so much effort here, just amazing.
It is very addicting for sure! At times, it's good to stop and think about if adding anything is necessary anymore hahah. Thank you for watching and for the kind words!
My biggest gripe with the male overhauls are the douchey hairstyles. I really hate them to the point that I just go for the 'High Poly Vanilla Hair' mod instead.
I will be following your mod list for my next playthough, so thank you for presenting to us these fantastic mods. Just out of curiosity though, how hard are these mods going to hit my framerate?
These mods are quite demanding, all depends on your machine and the resolution you're going to play the game in. The ENB is the most fps-hungry, followed by the grass mod I'd say. So try them out and see which setup is good for your desired performance and visuals. Good luck!
I gave up JK's series. They alway cause CTD for my game when I tried to install them even with their patch. I don't know if The Omnibus compatible with Skyland AIO. I will try Vinland Grass Patch. This grass's combo look dope.
Very nice. I’m going to try this on my next time off. Thanks for sharing. I like how your preference keeps some of the gloom represented in vanilla. Some player setups look like Candyland or Saturday morning cartoons. Which can be fun to experience too, I guess.
@@BardsCollegeGraduate Hit 70% yesterday with the mods. Want to remove and replace a few I have that don’t work great. I’m glad I bought Skyrim, a decade ago it wasn’t a game for me but I’m loving it now.
It's amazing to see that even though Skyrim modding has come a long way, yet some of the OG mods like Rudy ENB are still in use. Just shows how amazing these mods are. BTW amazing video as always.
