Welcome to the first episode of Skyrim life as a merchant. This is the Skyrim Merchant roleplay series where we live the life of a merchant in Skyrim. In this Skyrim Trader roleplay, we see Graylyn a Dunmer merchant embark on his Skyrim rags to riches story. We will travel around Skyrim earning gold until we have enough to open our own Skyrim market stall. This life will not be easy for Graylyn as a dark elf in Skyrim. We will have to deal with the trials and tribulations of being an outsider in Skyrim. If you like what you see feel free to leave a like and if you want to see more consider subscribing. For even more Morrowind ambience for your playthrough, might I suggest some more mods: Ashlander Camp New Zainab, Mihail's Morrowind animal mods, Gray Quarter Overhaul, Dunmeri Furniture Gray Quarter, Gray Quarter Morrowind Goods, JK's New Gnisis Corner Club, and Morrowind Merchants.

You should get "silver tongue". so you can use speechcraft through some other powers as it gets higher.

You should definitely have some bodyguards as a merchant would hire services to protect himself, dunmer like Janessa in the drunken huntsman in Whiterun

One of my most fun Skyrim runs was playing a travelling apothecary. Just going from town to town, picking herbs and making pots to sell. Hiring bodyguards and equipping them as I earned more money.

the mod "your market stall" lets you set up for business in almost any busy area. another mod "The Drunken Dragon" lets you open a shop near whiterun western watchtower.

Love the start this series got! It's incredibly immersive, and you do a very good job storytelling. I love your character A fair warning, though, for if you follow through on that threat to knife Rolff Stone-Fist in the back; he's essential, due to the reason that he's a possible target for a Thieves' Guild quest. There are mods that take that essential status away from him and only him, if you want them: "Unessential Rolff Stone-Fist" just removes his essential status "Killable Rolff Stone-Fist" makes him non-essential and removes the faction that makes him a target for Thieves' Guild quests "No More Essential And Bounty For Rolff Stone-Fist" makes him non-essential and non-bounty-worthy Anyways, looking forward to the rest of this series as it plays out! My first roleplay character in Skyrim was a merchant, so this is really fun to see the differences in playstyle.

I don’t know if you know this mod, but Wintersuns Faiths of Skyrim is a super good mod for any roleplaying play through, and I think our dunmer merchant friend here would benefit from worshipping some gods in these unforgiving lands.

I recently did a forsworn playthrough it opened alot of opportunity for deadra worship and alongside some mods to expand the Sidna mine quest and the forsworn faction it quickly became one of my favourite saves can't beat selling my soul to a deadric price for the power to kill more nords

Amazing! I've always wanted to see a Merchant playthrough. I attempted one but it got a little boring for me so I'm excited to see your take on it. You inspired me to start a RP character recently. I'm playing a "Life of a Healer" type character. Pretty much using Healing Hands, Courage, and Alteration while Erik the Slayer does the fighting. My healer character also happens to be Dragonborn and use non-lethal shouts, except Fus, because I just have to use it even if it's just to stagger enemies. I like to pretend that everyone in Skyrim thinks Erik he Slayer is the Dragonborn and I'm just his healer but little do they know lol.

Sounds pretty cool. Are there any healing focused mods and mods that add sick or hurt people you can heal. I've thought about a healing character myself but I need people to heal lol.

@@JacobyWakeby I don’t use one since I’m following MQ as a support character but I believe there was a Tend to the Sick Mod. I’m not sure how extensive that mod is though in regards to having enough content. You can maybe combine a healer and pilgrim playthrough. Maybe visiting every temple and important sites like the Eldergleam Sanctuary. You can also maybe have your healer get corrupted and decide to collect all daedric artifacts after witnessing the power of Meridia’s sword (I forgot the name).
