Skyrim Mod: Alternate Start - Live Another Life 

I can finally become a hobo!

I'm more or less on the fence about the choices... say I want to start an RP story with a certain kind of character that I have already thought of, which of the three should I go with if I want to start as a lone ex-bandit female coming north from Cyrodiil... Notes* -I may teleport my character to a certain location, and restart all discovered location, for a realistic "entrance" into skyrim that follows my backstory -I plan on cheating certain armour, weapons, and supplies in to make a more realistic and custom start -I will be using some RPing mods; ie iNeed, Frostfall Camping & Survival, etc. -I wish to avoid the Dragonborn storyarch, and frankly remove dragons completely(which if I don't go with Skyrim:Unbound i may have to find a mod that does remove dragons and dragonborn... If any of you wonderful people has any ideas of what I could do, I would appreciate it so much :)

Once I chose the shipwreck as my starting spawn. I had Frostfall installed (among a lot of other mods). I managed to get out of water quickly, but when I tried to reach the coast, I ended up freezing and I thought my character just died. I first thought I would be forced to use another spawn, but instead of that my character woke up in the Dawnstar inn and I started my playthrough there. It was one of the most entertaining starting I had in Skyrim actually, felt very intuitive to begin the nightmare quest as a way to repay my saving.

I recommend Alternate Start Live Another Life. It is the least complicated and has options that really dont affect your character other than starting gear and location. But you can start as a vampire or in a army or own a house already. I love it.

Alternate Start sounds good, but the Skyrim Unbound seems the most like the one I'd pick.

you forgot to mention the really cool feature of have the option of race specific starts such as becoming a member of the Alik'r if you start your play-through as a redguard :)

I downloaded alternative start and then I couldn't do the main quest-line and no dragons ever spawn for some reason. Looks like I will have to start over.

@Brodual please help me. On Xbox when I search it's only different language remakes. I cant find it anywhere

You forgot to mention that some of the options are race specific. For an example if you are a Khajiit you can be a caravan guard.

This is a great mod for anyone playing roguelike. There's nothing quite like spawning in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night wearing nothing but a rag and carrying little more than a loaf of bread. Can you make it through the first 24 hours? Can you kill that hungry wolf with a baguette? Look, a cave! I wonder what's inside?

Originally I played Skyrim on the 360, It was fun, but after about 200 hours over 2011 and 2012, I kind of felt like I had seen everything. In the end, It felt a bit hollow. Fast forward to this year. I had a new PC and I picked up Skyrim on a steam sale. I decided to mod it up to make it feel new and fresh from the version I had played a couple of years back. God damn was it fun With live another life, I had started out as a Nord bandit hiding out near Markarth. My journal said I had grown annoyed with my life as a petty bandit, so I left and started my new life as an adventurer. eventually, I heard about Helgen, destroyed by a dragon and left abandoned and dead. Eventually I made my way there and started up the Helgen reborn mod, teaming up with Marcus Janus, rebuilding Helgen, setting it up as an independent city, training guards, uncovering a thalmor plot etc. By the end of the mods questline, I had some time to reflect on how far my character had come (even in the first 10 levels in the game) from a disgraced, unloved, bandit preying on innocent travelers to a member of an old, respected military order who breathed life into a dead town. Modded Skyrim gave me more story and more context to my actions than the Vanilla version ever attempted to.

This is the best mod ever if you've made like 800 characters.

You forgot to mention thay each race but Nord and Bosmer has a race specific starting point (love the forsworn one for Bretons.)

If your playing with frostfall, realistic needs and diseases, and any other realism mods the left for dead option is a really fun way to start since you start in the middle of nowhere and need to find food and water to be able to even get to a city.

How is this JUST getting covered now?

I wish there was a mod where all the characters you create exist in the same world. But if one of your characters has for an example already done all the questlines in the Mages Guild your other character can join the Mages Guild but can't be in charge of the mages guild because your other character is already in charge, or you can overthrow him and even kill him. I know there's a mod named "Familiar Faces" but i believe it should be made felt even more real and deep. Another awesome idea is that if one of your characters did something bad or good or let's say helped the Imperials win the civil war then that would immediately take affect in the world of the other characters because they're all in the same world. You guys get where I'm getting at right? Now that would be AWESOME.

I used the live another life and joined the imperials but as soon as I had to do the whiterun quest, I was told to get the dragonstone for farengar and defeat the dragon afterwards when I just wanted to do the empire questline, now I have to do the main quest. Then again this did lead to whiterun being attacked by a dragon and stormcloaks on the same day which must have been a crazy day in the history of the town.

am i the only one who cant start skyrim with live another life mod??:D

This is a great mod But now everytime I touch the bed it crashes to desktop

I've been using this one for a long time, this is hands down the best of the three in my opinion. Its top quality, and it doesnt -seem- to mess with much of anything. I love how they "cover up" the helgen opening and tie it in.

Skyrim Unbound has been updated a lot.

Love this mod. It goes great with character creation overhaul so you can further control your character, class, skills, and birthstone.

It’s 2020 and Skyrim still kicks ass. I still play the shit out of it! Never gets old

random alternate start just puts you in a random place in the world it RECOMMENDS the one where you get a class

really the only difference between current gen consoles and PC's are that PC's can do mods, the games are cheaper, there are more games available, and a PC can do more in the application department (internet, music, movies, etc) graphics wise there's only a SLIGHT difference in PC's favor. but to get that slight difference you pay a lot more. my PC is fairly decent for the $700 i paid for it. in the end it does come down to a matter of preference. and lately the console market hasn't been making a big enough case as to why i should play on there systems with there games over a PC. since putting together my gaming PC i haven't touched my Xbox360. but i still keep my 360 around in case there is ever a issue where i can't use my PC.

I like unbound the best among all the alternate start mods personally.

Some optioons kinda remind me of the Misery mod for stalker call of pripyat In the misery mod you can choose the black road start. You are in a house at the sawmill. The sawmill is full of zombies and you only have a Makarov with one mag and some food. How you escape and how you get better equipment to survive is your choice

before this mod i once saved a half second after Ralof finished the sentence "who are you", got a faster beginning for every character of mine but this is so much better

They patched the mod for anniversary edition and in doing do screwed over everyone that's not willing to dish out $20.

Sh*t I spend around 47 hours modding Skyrim SE - I have MO 2, SKSE 64 and 9 graphic mods. I plan to use at least 100+ mods with focus on gameplay and stability and of couse a bit grafics too. If I continue in this speed TES7 will release before I get all the mods to work together xD

How do I activate Live Another Life on Xbox? I tried enabling it but it keeps saying that I don't have the proper files, do I need to do something specific?

So, you can start off camping in the woods? Is this compatible with frostfall? Note btw that I was banned from the nexus for asking how to manually install mods, so I can't download the latest version of frostfall or any compatibility patches.

Is it possible to use this mod, to start you're character off as a member of the theives guild but come back to start the traditional opening of helgen without losing your data. dont care if i lose my items

How about the major difference between Unbound and Alternate Start: Unbound is known to conflict with a couple of mods, last not least the Unoficial Patches. It works for some people just fine but for others the Unbound-Scripts have broken the Dragonborn-DLC, main Questline and AI-Scripts. There is NO report to my knowledge of Alternate Start causing gamebreaking problems of that magnitude. It's well cleaned and not as intrusive and scriptheavy as Unbound.

Those mods are old, they were never showcased here? O_o EDIT: Oh, they got updates, nice! I don't play Skyrim on PC by months, and my new PC is arriving tomorrow :D

I like this mod, I am now actually tired of being the Dragonborn. Thats why I'm waiting for Elder Scrolls 6. Oh yeah, and the ENB and texture mods u used were awesome. Still love vanilla though.

When manually installing it has no data folder, and does't work. It NEEDS nexus.

If i'm using Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod can i still kill Alduin ?
