I always made Farkas my husband. I liked the idea of them meeting early on and experiencing so much together, but it was more so to have my Daedric armor clad Dragonborn walk into his house and hear a gravelly "Hello dear" coming from the campfire

I never see Cosnach on these lists, I think he's a really underrated spouse. People seem to not like him because he's a drunk and the first thing he does is fight you, but he has unique dialogue as a spouse that I find very endearing. He sounds like he's genuinely smitten with the player, and it's adorable

Nobody touches Lydia for No.1 She knows when to range with a bow and put the stick in them, and then bust out the sword and board and hack em down. I sometimes stand back, just to watch her work she is so glorious. Runs a profitable side business, while being a great cook. Nothing more I need in a Nord woman.

Ysolda; if you play it right she can be your Bannered Mare running drug lord.

On my first playthrough I married Aela the huntress and after our wedding was complete….she ran away and I couldn’t find her, she wasn’t in her normal location and she ran away so quick I didn’t have the chance to tell her what house I lived at. I eventually managed to use cheats to teleport her to me but seriously if she didn’t want to get married she shouldn’t have suggested it lmao

One of my favorite play throughs personally was as a Khajiit, marrying Ysolda, and using crafting and the thieves guild to take over the world economically. My other favorite spouse was Muiri. No specific reason why, she just seemed interesting.

Actually, usually chose Lydia just because she's the first one available, but after reading a few comments on similar videos I'm curious about Shahvee or one of the Orc women just because of the way they treat life and pressure, not like "we're gonna fight alongside till the end" or "I'll have the best business" or "Bring me 10 bear pelts to satiate my hatred" but "Life's a bitch and we'll have to get through it togerther". Not eternal fight, not eternal trade, not whatever dumb reason, but "we respect each other and we'll stick together and see for ourselves what the life brings us". It's like what they said in the Temple of Mara "Life in Skyrim is short and brutal" or something like that. Haven't yet even started Serana's quest line, don't know what she's like but if we're talking non-modded game - Shahvee, Orcs or maybe Mjoll, that's my choice.

Real life: Date for three years in college, live together for five years after graduation, move to a new state together, plan grad school around each other's career plans. Consider maybe getting engaged. Skyrim: Help someone carry their groceries up the stairs. Get engaged by the time you come down the stairs.

I really like my characters story with Mjoll. I told her I would join the thieves guild and she shunned me for a while. Then I got her back Grimsever and she was thankful that I did that for her instead of selling it like a thief would. I like to think that when you become leader of the thieves guild, you can act as someone working from the inside to make the thieves guild less harmful to Riften so that Mjolls job is easier. Idk I just think it’s a cute forbidden romance story. But fuck Aerin. Use Nightingale Subterfuge so he gets killed by guards so that you don’t feel as guilty? 🤷🏻‍♀️

My first choice was always Marcurio from Riften. I loved how sassy and snarky he was and then turns out he’s a total nerd for Nord ruins. The only sad thing is once you marry him most of his passive dialogue when adventuring with him goes away which makes me sad that I can’t hear his sarcastic remarks anymore.

Ysolda was the first character I married and chose her for a few playthroughs. After Ysolda, I chose Mjoll the Lioness. She is AWESOME as she is a pretty good companion (she won't die). Then, I chose Aela the Huntress... something about her outfit that makes her look hot. Finally, I chose Muiri... for no good reason other than she's cute LOL

For those asking how to marry taarie, you need speech 70 and invest perk points upto the investor perk, buy the radiant rament clothes and wear them when you go speak to the yarl in the palace, now finish the quest and invest 500 in the radiant rament store give the 500 gold to taarie only, if you give the investment to her sister you will not get the dialogue option to marry taarie when you wear the mara amulet

Taarie also have some of the best diaglogue when you marry her and have kids in a 'poor place' she won't like most places but if you move out in the wilderness she will be upset with you for allowing the children to grow up around wild animals

I remember marrying the Argonian who works at the mine, he has a bug that makes him run away from the players house back to the mines. Many times I've fast travelled to breeze home to see him running off in the distance. I then have to chase him and force him to go back inside. A healthy relationship.

I feel like a lot of the NPCs get kind of dull to be around after you exhaust all of their dialogue. Which usually only takes one or two conversations. This includes spouses and adoptees. I kind of wish more followers had quests associated with them so you can spend time getting to know them. Which is why it's a cruel irony that both of the main DLC followers are unmarriable...
