Some really cool specimens! I am so jealous of your rock hounding abilities!

Don’t be jealous, it’s mostly dumb luck 😆. Thanks for watching James!

All neat stuff! I hope I can get out there some time in late October, whenever the weather starts cooling down.

A Terlingua local told me to never use rocks from the area to encircle a campfire. He said they contain heavy metals and off gas when heated up. He said lots of local people were getting sick because of this.

Hey Kayla, thanks for watching! I honestly have no idea. It’s certainly possible.

How do you decide which direction to cut? I know it must be hard to guess what is inside. Do you sometimes cut in one direction and then try a 90 degree angle to cut the other way? I'm working on a mosaic and see great potential for leaf shapes and colors in what you have.

Thanks for watching! I use a very precise and scientific method to determine the cut angle. I call it “random” 😆. Normally I just decide based on the best fit for my saw, without too much regard for anything else like color or design. In some cases I do cut based on something I see in the stone.
