Wow, you covered a lot of ground in a cohesive way. It worked almost verbatim first time through (I had to manually activate one of my custom objects but that was good to learn). Very helpful, thank you!
Many thanks for sharing this. It is truly helpful. Could you please kindly advise: 1)in Salesforce, how can I check to which Slack workspace it is connected to? 2)In Slack, how can check which SFDC Orgs are connected to a specific Workspace? (Note: The above two questions are related to SFDC =>Slack connection, not Slack to SFDC connection)
Thanks for this detailed video. There are so many videos on RU-vid on the Slack integration but you covered it very well. I liked your pace and teaching method. Already subscribed to your channel and looking forward to learning more!
Thanks for sharing slack integration with Salesforce. Can we send message to individual users rather than channel? I tried it for individual user but it didn't work. Please share your thoughts,.
Hi, please have a look here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UGDDNE-mdBo.html I've summarized the ways how to use the integration. Is anything missing?
Can you programmatically generate a Channel from a record? So for each open opportunity (or ideally a custom object) create a channel when it's created or hits a certain stage, and then embed that channel inside of the record in SFDC so people can interact with it in both places?
We use the Rethink CRM built ontop of Salesforce and the Slack integration only allows Admin users to push information from Slack into Salesforce. Advanced Users can push information from Salesforce into a Slack channel, but not vice versa. Any idea what approval the Admin may need adjust to allow non Admin users to have full functionality.
I encounter this error "Your Salesforce Organization doesn't have the permissions to access this Slack app. For help, contact your Salesforce admin." anyone have the same issue?
Is it possible to modify the record fields that are shown in the slack message when you include a record reference? For example, my case slack messages always include Case Number, Status, Priority, and Subject. Is there any way to change which fields display. They do not appear to be tied to compact layouts.
Hi Steve! Not for standard objects that are available out of the box. But with custom objects you can configure what fields are displayed (up to 9). Go to > Slack Setup > Custom Object Configuration > Edit Fields
