Jim Lea best bassist and multy talented musician from these shores. Had the privelage to see Slade back in the day and I knew even back then that I had seen the best live band ever. 40 years on and countless gigs big and small I'm still waiting to be proved otherwise. Times running out but Slade are forever in rock and my head never to be erased. Keep on rockin in the free world while we can.
Slade were great and very underrated due to the term glamrock. That suggests a bad band who compensates with good looks. Slade was far more than looks and made brilliant music!
The Glasgow gig of this tour(1983)was at Glasgow University and there was a video camera recording it from the balcony. I wonder what happened to THAT tape?

slade were the best live band of the 70,s early 80,s never got the credit they deserved, shame they did not play live aid, as for jim lea, a special special talent, a true rock god
Who says the violin can't rock? The whole band is great, but this is surely Jim Lea's moment of glory. Every time I see him (or his videos anyway) he's pulling else from up his sleeve. It's this kind of thing that separates a great concert from a hum-drum one. The element of surprise! Long live. . .
