Nice one TBW, another fantastic ride through the trough of Bowland, the views on a clear day are spectacular, from Morecambe bay to the west across to Pennyghent and beyond...😊
Thank you Dave for taking me on your ride out. Going through a bit of a rough patch right now. This made things a bit better. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down bud. Cheers
That road has been on my list since I spotted it when planning one of my last big trips south in 2019, but by the time I got to Settle from the Highlands the Sun was going down so I went straight to Slaidburn and through Clitheroe to my hotel for the night in Wigan. There are some very atmospheric places in the North of England, your choice of music suited that ride well. Thanks for taking us along, Mick.
Good to see that you escaped the border guards, Dave! That was a lovely ride over glorious country; very obviously the road less travelled - and all the better for it. Nice choice of accompaniment, too; very atmospheric and well-suited to the sombre hues of the sky.
I tend to ride The Dales mainly but having watched your video I’ll skip to the other side next time. Looks really tranquil. I think a flask and sandwiches in my pannier will be required. I came across you having purchased a Crosstourer when you had yours. I understand why a mid-sized bike is your choice considering the roads you ride. Thanks for another great story.
I know this road very well. I remember when on an NPR ride out, where we rode from Bentham to Slaidburn, one of the lads (who comes from Huddersfield) came to me and asked if this was Lancashire? He couldn't quite believe that Lancashire could be so pretty! Lol. I remember the stretch of road where you go under those trees being particularly bad, especially for a large touring bike like the K1600. As your video is only a month old, it's clear that it's no better. Great ride Dave.
Good Morning Dave , What a wonderful ride out mate, i bet it's pretty bleak up there when the snow comes down tbf , so take care & ride safe till the next time
My old stamping ground. The roads around there are brilliant (except in winter). You want to try Bentham→Burton in Lonsdale→Westhouse→Westgate lane→Thornton lane (Kingsdale)→Deepdale (Deepdale lane)→Dent (it's easier doing it in reverse, starting from Dent). Take a change of underwear for after the run down into Deepdale 😀. Don't, whatever you do, do this in bad weather. If you're feeling really brave, you could try Far Westhouse to Westgate Lane (via Bank House lane)...
TBW, I’ve just watched you new video & I’d say that whilst the side scenery, roads & beautiful countryside you traverse is obscured by the windshield of the super meteor 🤔 I don’t recall the classic 350 being blurred by a windshield. I’d have to look back at your previous videos 🤔 Otherwise sensational travels!
As much as I like watching your videos, I wish you'd stop showing all the fabulous roads around Bowland. I've been riding these roads for over thirty years, and up until about six years ago I hardly saw any other motorcycles. I want this area kept secret, it'll soon become festered with the loony sports bike brigade, and the long parades of bikes you see in other areas. Selfish of me, I know 😁
I’m sorry but I have to disagree with you, stunning just isn’t enough of a word to describe that ride. Sublime would be closer and awesome, in its true meaning, (not the overused americanised version) is better still. Those colours through the woodland then over the moorland were spectacular and the accompanying music was a perfect fit. A brilliant ride definitely on my to do list. Excellent work, well done. 👍👍👍
Stunning ride but does looking through that screen not annoy the hell out of you? I feel its dangerous as its so distorted and so many reflections! I would want to take it off!!
