I had a strange conversation yesterday. In the morning I was in a supermarket buying some apples when I saw a man pointing at me and telling his wife "This guy's gonna buy everything but the kitchen sink!" loud enough for me to hear. I kindly asked him what his problem was (as I love riddles and problem solving in general) and pointed out that they don't usually sell plumbing fixtures in supermarkets to which he replied that I should hold my horses. Confused, I politely explained that I was no breeder and thus had no horses to hold so he rolled his eyes and quipped I should put a sock in it. Once again I assured him that no horses were in my possesion and so sticking anything "in them" was impossible. At that moment his face turned red and his wife started dragging him away but he muttered in an angry tone "In my neck of the woods people like you end up kicking the bucket." I just replied that where I live people don't abuse idioms in every day situations.
