ozzy2k11 slash is my number 1 for 12 years now and will always be my number 1, but i still think it’s just an opinion and i know there are talented people like buckethead, tom morello, etc but the thing is, their music doesn’t hit my soul and slash’s does... so it’s all about opinion/personal preference... i listen to all kinds of music, jazz, blues, rock n roll, metal, pop, rap, and so on.. i literally like all of the genres and i respect every siglw artist but still, slash has something... people say it’s because of his hair that makes it misterious blablabla... it’s all about atitude and personality... give slash his talent to a shy dude and ge will get nowhere... so i think it’s not all about talent but the way you promote your energy on stage... and gnr promoted their energy really well in their music, therefor they are my nr 1 rock band! No offense to anyone here! All blessings and positive energy! :)
He uses it a lot tbh just not in the famous songs like Jungle and sweet child he uses it more for songs like reckless like you could be mine for and solos I’m sure there is probably a few more but I can’t remember
The weight difference between this and the Les Paul really shows, with the Les Paul with these solos, he looks like he is fighting with the instrument, this is much lighter and easier to handle! But damn that Les Paul tone!
He's actually said before that he prefers to play heavier stuff (heavy picks heavy strings and heavy guitars) because he likes the feeling of playing hard
There’s something about this solo that sticks with me. It may have been sloppier than usual in some ways and it’s not his usual tone but he had some of his most epic moments ever in these 8 minutes as well. Some guys gotta heat up.🤷🏻♂️
I started playing guitar because of Slash. I’ve been missing this version of him. So much more emotion and passion in his playing during the cigarette smoking, drunk and drugged up days. Mellowed down these past few sobered years. Wish he would go back to using Emb Rack Mount Wah effects. He sounds so much better.
That was GN"R Live in Paris back in like 90" or somthing. That solo inspired me greatly when I was a kid. It brought brought back some good memories seeing this clip.
People don't get it Slash plays with thick gauge strings on his guitar which makes it extremely hard to shred and solo like he does. The man Is a monster. There are other legendary players without mentioning names who using thin strings especial for the blend but that's like picking up 5 pound dumbbell. Try playing Hotel California solo on thick strings and you will see what I mean. You either have a strong blend or you have to modify some notes. Slash is truly one of a kind
@@_KerinR_ ye its easy playin thicc strings on les pauls but on strats that shit is hard af. i get playin on a les paul since its way easyer to bend...ive never had a different gauge on my les paul other then 11s
@@ferretna6054 yes on a strat is harder and SRV was bending 13s like there was no tomorrow, I myself play heavy string gauge in the style of Stevie and he would’ve dust Slash anytime
@@_KerinR_ frrr.... srv would switch out guages somtimes on different oncerts or different songs... the thinnest he would go was 10... put playing any gauge on a les paul or floyd dosent really difffer for somereason.... fender be makin dat shit hard... me my self i play 10s or 11s the most...
@@ferretna6054 I’ve had a les Paul, and a Mockingbird which has a Floyd Rose and yeah they don’t feel as bad when they got heavier strings but a Stratocaster is a completely different story, I can only imagine the ferocity SRV played with and the strength on his fingers being a small guy.
i realy love his double taking jive with all the extended solo on the use your ilusions live in tokyo DVD, its on here somewhere and his phrasing, vibrato, tone are all sopt on! check it out!
Unico...inimitabile....meraviglioso...fantastico...perfetto...non bastano gli aggettivi x descrivere 1 mito...Semplicemente grande!!!...Slash is the best..!!
The level of passion that Slash has for this heavy rock blues is unbelievable....imagine if he had the same passion for other styles like tappings, very fast playing and other cool stuff....
actually, this is one of slash's sloppier moments imo.. slash was never an "inventor", the pentatonic scale was used long before gnr, but he just happened to be at the right place at the right time. (since most people were interested in exotic yngwie like scales and weird coloured super strats and lightningfast leadplaying.) Slash is one heck of a player though, one of my main inspirations.
Uh… Floyd Rose. It was invented to stop EVH’s guitar from going out of tune whilst shredding. Slash could’ve played another 3hrs and he STILL would’ve been perfectly in tune.😊
