I felt in love with Joe Perry’s 1959 burst instantly the first time I saw the video of November Rain and Slash posing in front of that church. 23 years later I was able to afford a custom shop one. It was an eye opener, that high quality guitars have that hefty price tag for a reason. I sold all my other electric guitars except my modded Tele and bought a 1960’s Fender CS Strat that I absolutely love. Now owning the holy trinity of electric guitars i can say that the Les Paul is just something entirely else. It stays in tune way better than any guitar I ever owned and still own (no offence Fender), I can get the action down comfortabley low without buzzing, it has sustain for ages and it just feels unbelievably comfortable in the hand. It will stay with me until I breathe my last breath. Thanks Gibson for building such an incredible piece of art and thanks Slash for being such a badass and inspiration from Appetite till today, you, Miles and the Conspirators absolutely rock!

It was specifically the first solos’ of: November Rain and Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door that sold me on getting a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in Honeyburst. The Sustain , The Tone, The weight, and my god.. that Vanilla Scented Maple Smell when you open up the candy hardcase. Gibson, make a cologne out of that smell please!

I owned for a brief few months Jeff Lebar's 1982 spotlight special. I knew it was a show player because it had serious buckle rash. Didn't find out it was Jeff's until I put it up for sale. The guitar had almost no frets left. A true sin like no other.

First, let me say that I realize it is financially difficult for many (if not most) people to be able to afford these guitars or even a regular Les Paul Standard. However, I want to give you a little advice just in case this is the way you think. Many people get caught up in the idea of “I’m not good enough to buy my dream guitar (whatever that might be)”. My advice is that as soon as you can afford your dream guitar(even if you have to save up for months or years) you should buy it. It will likely inspire you to get better. The only exception I would make is if you haven’t been playing long enough to know your personal preferences and what feels the best to you (neck shape, body shape, etc.). Don’t buy it just because you think it looks cool.

this guy single handedly lift Gibson LP into mainstream again in 80's, back in the day in all magazine such as Kerrang, Hit Parader or Circus all guitarists of rock band usually posed use pointy aggressive headstock guitars such as Jackson, Ibanez or Kramer. It's only him goes nuts in LP.

That’s easy. $2,499 of the price is your regular Les Paul Standard (which is actually reasonable considering they were $3,299 before Gibson changed the Les Paul line last year). The other $500 is your Slash premium (which is probably only worth it for the limited edition colors).

Slash said it all the time back when the custom shop run of AFD's came out! It's basically a '59 reissue with a '58 neck and alnico 2 pro pickups that were what was available when Derrig built the guitar

Must be by design or as a result of their production environment, probably there is a good reason because a few years back I took an SG to their historic shop where they do restorations and they did some work on it, they kept it for 2 months and when I picked it up the fingerboard was very light in color to the point that I thought they had replaced it but it was the original. It took several passes with fret doctor oil to get it back to a darker color. They probably have controlled humidity because they use nitro or something. Last Gibson I bought is a Les Paul DC Tribute and the fingerboard was bone dry too, it took several passes of oil to start darkening.

I find it Amusing Gibson that you take all the credit for things that you Gibson know that you shouldn't..for example the solid body Les paul..you seem to leave out that Les Paul actually invented his solid body guitar that eventually turned into the Gibson Les paul in the Epiphone factory in 1941 10 years before you Gibson were even a thought and Les Paul actually never left Epiphone he was with both of you and he was associated with Epiphone from 1940 until his death in 2009..so why Gibson do you leave that out a lot..Gibson the 2021 Les Paul Custom Koa is probably the best Les Paul made in modern times and so are the 2021 Epiphone modern figured Sgs..Les Paul once said he may be with Gibson but he'll always be a Epiphone Man..Epiphone Gibson has every right to the Les paul name probably more than you do Gibson...Epiphone founded 1873 - Gibson 1902...

@@gibsonguitar I guess my only real beef is that they were limited and custom shop. I like that you made the slash ones standard line and I think you should do the same for some more classic guitars.

He could go door to door and sell a fuq ton of just about anything. Nicest guy ever.... I think he gave Joe Perry back his '59 les Paul many yrs after Joe had sold it during hard times.
