Big respect to STP for this track. 1984 is referencing the book by George Orwell, and the song was written when Russia began it's war in Ukraine this February. The song was sick, the lyrics were on point, and that ending got me emotional.
Easily their best song yet, and it took balls of steel to release it now, speaking out against an authoritarian government that frequently jails people for dissenting. I hope they don't face the kinda backlash other Russians have faced speaking out against the war.
Lol, you really don't know & understand nothing from situation between Russia and Ukraine! Such a dumb sentence about "war"!
He actualy broke his orbital playing soccer, he has a plate under there. Edges are too clean for scarification. Those were done by a medical professional, gnarly scar comes with it. I have one from midline in my left eyebrow to under my eye, they roll your face back to do the work. I have pictures of my face open while I was put under.
There was a rumor floating around that Alex got into an altercation with a driver of a vehicle. There was a video clip of a person (allegedly Alex) reaching in and punching the driver and the driver pulling a knife and slicing his face. However, the video wasn’t clear so you can’t see who the attacker was. A couple days later the scarification thing popped up and soon after he b-lined for the US. He lives in Florida now. Can’t say if any of that is true. Just the timing of all three was odd. Either way, this song slams.
yeah. the last couple months he has been recovering from the scarification his face. and the reason he has moved next to fronzilla in orlando.. he is working to get the rest of the band and his family out as quickly/soon as he can.
when a russian man doing deathcore vocals says "Please stop the violence Please stop the bloodshed on Earth Look into the eyes of children who are scared And remеmber, remembеr yourself" its much more than just an casual word play, they are speaking for the situation going on in ukraine at the moment, such an brave and influential song even though the riffs and blast beats are fun and all.
@@torr3n it's true, and the mass of the people, who supports invasion in Ukraine, is fucking putin-believers and half-dead ussr-time's elders, most of our nation don't supports this action of aggression
These guys just have such a great sound. The things from nu-metal hardcore they pull from makes this just such a more accessible death-core band for me. They don't have a single song I don't like, and this song is up there with Baba Yaga as a favorite from them.
@@jeremyanderson11 Alex already stated that this song is in relation to the current war from Russia and Ukraine, as Alex is from Russia and is completely against the war itself like many other Russians
This song is a fucking banger, and I'm glad someone also thought of SOAD on that bridge towards the end of the song. They go from Slipknot vibes, to full on Pantera face-stomp chugs and then throw in some juicy SOAD infused goodness all in one song, it's like an early 2000's era kids wet dream.
PLEASE go to his channel and react to the video for Alex's other band SCUMSTERS and the song is "FOLLOW ME" He sings clean the whole song, you will be shocked.
Yeah, I will wholeheartedly admit deathcore is usually too much for me, but this Slaughter to Prevail track with a mix of Slipknot, System of a Down (fav band ever), and with more high screams AND "clean" vocals, I'm all in!
Its not 1984 vibes for sure 😂 i like me some slaughter to prevail music for sure! Its amazing its not "the usual" from them but the uniqe identity tells you right away that its a slaughter to prevail song! I have to give it more listening time but i love it!
i think 1984 is a reference to the book called 1984. and if you read the lyrics its obvious the song is about the war in ukraine and control of people in russia. thats why alex went to USA so he could sing about anything he wanted without being arrested.
@@CallsignTrike i see now it make sense! It was a bit funny for me being named 1984 bcuz i love retro/synthwave music wich is the music at the time knowing it being named after a book is cool! It was a cool song but mixing music with politics isn't the way + USA being a free country is a proven 🧢 its not smthn i can just say its proven many times
@@CallsignTrike moving from A to B doesn't give you the "so called freedom" in the end he's someone not related to the russian government and he moved for the better of course! My point isn't russia and russian issues my point is usa claims freedom when its actually not actually freedom so its 🧢! Lets go back to the song yes i dont like the mix of politics and music or any industry that isn't related to it and yes whats happining is bad the world haves enough already but i hope its thier way of sending the message of alot of russians or some ppl in general about whats happining bcuz mixing the both puts you in bad spots you dont need to be in
@@mr.nahyan7626 meant to say that USA has relatively more freedom than Russia. Also music and conflicts have been related since people learned how to sing. From soldiers singing in trenches to everyone else expressing what they feel about wars
STP doing something new , good for them but its not even the same band anymore . but each to there own , i just dont like this new slipknot rip off take they going with
