Metal, at it's essence, is Angry Music For Happy People, i.e. the music is a cathartic release, it flushes out the sharp edges we all feel in life, a purging, a sort of endorphin rush after some intense exercise or... yeah you get the idea. Alex is really a very nice guy, his overblown persona is for the stage, his humanity is off of it when he interacts with fans as a very down to earth intelligent guy. It's the same phenomena with Will Ramos, a true beast on vocals but a real happy upbeat chill dude in life.
