The mosh pits do look brutal but there's a video I saw a week or two ago from a Slaughter concert where a woman in the pit had a seizure (I think) and Alex stopped mid-song, made sure she got help, seemed genuinely concerned about her and then gave her a hug when he found out that she was OK. Lovely guy. Absolute monster too, but that doesn't mean he can't be nice.

Having met Alex, he is a beast but, also the kindest of souls. Such a good human and an embodiment of inspiration. Also, they put on the most epic shows! Their show had the best wall of death I have ever seen in person.

I’ll admit that after Epica formed a circle pit right where I was standing, in about 2014, I have preferred to not stand in the middle of the crowd, just to be safe. 😂. Love this song, and the interactions with the fans in this video.

Alex is a different animal for sure. I've been a metal vocalist from singing in my car at 16 to being in several pretty low-level bands, and I generally know how to do most vocal techniques, even if i cant do them well, i understand what they are doing and can mimic to some degree. I'm good at figuring out the techniques. I still dont understand how Alex does that Satan tone. It's not just false chord or baritone inhales, he's doing 2 things at once and can dial them both independently and I do not understand. Alex and Will Ramos have me baffled. They're layering so many techniques together that i cant tell if they just found a combination or something entirely new.

I think the reason this kind of music is relaxing for many people is because it’s cathartic. We release all that pent up angst because Slaughter To Prevail is like sonic confession through osmosis. Just one of many teasers to love Metal. 🤘

Honestly, mosh pits are fucking awesome! If you get knocked down, most metalheads will pick you up and make sure you are good! I lost a shoe after getting thrown, dude who floored me picked me up and I got my shoe after the song. Love pits!

Metal people are all super chill. Funny mosh pit story: We had someone in the mosh pit at the last festival who dislocated his knee. We took him to the medi tent and went back to the mosh pit. 5 minutes later we saw the same dude in the mosh pit again. :D

We prefer being called Norse or Norseman, calling us Vikings is insulting and a Derogatory term. It's like calling the Vietnamese and other Asian People those certain Bad Names they've been called that I personally will not dignify by putting any of those Bad Names whether it's against You Tube Policy or not, and is about a quarter as bad as using the N-word. Viking (pronounced V - EE - K - ING) was a Right of Passage and was more than just a Raid. The getting to the destination also played a large part, as sailing was very technical and required alot of skill, aswell as navigation skills. The main reason for many to call us Vikings is they just don't know any better, and the ones that do know better call us Vikings because they're still Butthurt about our Raids. Remember to call us Norse or Norseman please and thankyou.

Alex’s english is pretty broken, but he’s such a genuinely sweet human being. Saw them two nights ago and he spent about 3 minutes between songs talking about how he writes songs about eating human flesh and crazy ass stuff, but he couldn’t even hurt a fly. That being said, he legitimately has wrestled a bear before, so you know he’s actually crazy. Lol.

If no one has mentioned. The fun thing about real mosh pits is if you get caught up in one, and you don't want to participate, just put your arms up and move away, we will see you don't want to participate and some of us will help you get out. Been in plenty of mosh pits. Love when women join, but, it can be brutal and we truthfully don't want anyone getting hurt. If someone falls, we stop the pit and pick you up. But, if you hear the band wants the wall,.....move quickly away.
