Slavery at Sea looks at the continued plight of Thailand's 'seafood slaves' through interviews with trafficked migrants, industry insiders and migrants-rights activists. Following a number of investigations in 2013 which uncovered serious failings on the part of the Thai authorities to successfully combat human trafficking, The Environmental Justice Foundation returned to Thailand in early 2014 to find similar stories of abuse, corruption and exploitation.

I came from Cambodia and I once was there for almost 10 months. Aimed they wanted me and my other two mates work for them 4 years and after that they will send back to Bangkok. August time during storms when the boat sailed close to Kok Sumui where I jumped and I went to the police station waited to deport back to Cambodia. I was staying in Jail another 3 months. Life on the boat was such nightmares. I lost 2 best friends and I saw my friends died with great suffered and injustice.

+Patricia Saconi As a Thai person, the main reason that Thailand's government has not been working hard enough to stop this problem is because they are busy dealing with political instability for 9 years since 2006. Most of Thai people still not believe or know that this kind of thing is still existed here since we abolished slavery 300 years ago. I were also shocked when I first heard this news last year. Right now, our military pm is still cracking down this traffickers but it may take time. There's always something very stupid and unusual things happening in Thailand. Even I'm from Thailand myself, and I still don't understand how this could happen in this country, and it always bring shame to our country yet again. I want you to know that this does not represent the whole country. It was JUST committed by a small pure evil community but it hurts the country as a whole. Right now, I know that Thailand is been targeted for the terrorist attacks and we would see this as a karma from the sins that we committed which the whole country needs to pay for it. I feel sorry and want to apologise on behalf of the whole country.

Gulf of Mexico wild caught shrimp is higher quality, doesn't have a bunch of additives and antibiotics, and tastes a LOT better.
