If I'm not mistaken, this was the last song of the set. One thing I've always seen from Cornell, from the early days to even now, 2013, he performs the hardest songs when I think he shouldn't. Not only that, he performs it well. Not only that, he's already performed many other very difficult songs beforehand. Not only that, his catalog of songs is pretty much impossible to perform by any other human being. I think I've said enough.
u now have the big gay he also puts his all into songs that are pretty intensive in earlier parts of the set ( if i’m not mistaken, they were also doing 2 hour sets )
I like how you said his catalogue is pretty much impossible for any other human being. Obviously there are really good singers that can do it, but I’m a pretty decent singer, and can sing along to most of my favorite bands and hit all the notes, but I don’t know if it’s his range or the rasp he puts in his voice, but I just cannot sing most Audioslave and Soundgarden songs, with some exceptions for the easier ones of course. I was trying to sing along to the first Audioslave album last night and basically just gave up a few songs in and let my voice rest.
@@leons.kennedy1571 Hey! Consider my original comment here a bit biased lol. I was definitely wrong. It was damn near 10 years ago, woah! Indeed, now I'm sure there are many who can sing his songs. I myself have put in the practice and can sing pretty much all of SG/TOD/AS songs. Problem is, I'm a tenor. Hitting the notes isn't necessarily too much of a problem, it's that my voice is significantly lighter. As you stated, I think the best part of Chris' voice is the distortion and timbre he can create with it. His tone on songs like Right Turn or Burden in My Hand is just awesome, but when I try to sing the way Chris does, it sounds too tinny and thin. I just end up singing them straight, but dammit if I didn't wish I could sound like Chris.
The first time I saw them was in 1996 and they were closing with this already back then,it was usually this and Jesus Christ Pose. He would also sing pats of other songs in the middle section, like he did that final night
I always found it strange that when it came to performing live, Chris could absolutely floor the song Beyond the Wheel but whenever he did Slaves and Bulldozers he never quite matched the studio version. Then I found this version, fuck me, he nailed it.
Idk man, beyond the wheel is really either fully lower range or fully head voice for Chris; Slaves and Bulldozers rides along his vocal break for such a large portion of the song- it is incredible beyond words that he was able to get it so spot on even this once.
What's In It For...MEEEEEEEEE...YEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAHHHHHH...WHAT'S IN IT FOR .......MEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! When he sings that part, you have, I believe, just heard the male rock singer with THE BEST upper range vocal control of any male rock singer, past or present.
I think it's because Chris's technique requires lots of warming up, and when he is warmed up, he's fantastic. So by the end of a set, his voice is at it's peak and he's able to perform very very well.
@@scottschaft1538 Cameron is great in Soundgarden stuff but not in Pearl jam songs, He made every song so simple, compare Even flow played by Dave Abbruzzese and Matt....
@@Plejer1067The Pearl Jam drummer debate always makes me laugh. Matt Cameron's their best drummer and it isn't because of his ability - it's because he's able to stay in the band and has obviously connected with the band. If you're ever been in a band you'll get what I mean. Matt Cameron's Soundgarden drumming is better any day of the week. BUT... Matt Cameron serves the band the best. Even if the style of drumming didn't fit, PJ couldn't have landed a better drummer.
This is a badass song that showcases the individual talent of each member. Ben almost pulling the bass strings off. Kim manipulating the guitar & blowing on the strings, Matt changing up the pace through out the song & beating the shit out of those drums, Chris voice goes from bluesy lows to screaming high....love it! If I had to pick a fave Soundgarden song, Slaves & Bulldozers might be the one. But I really can’t pick a fave.
PEOPLE RESENT EDDIE VEDDER FOR BEING ALIVE, THE ONLY ONE THAT SURVIVED. VERY SAD. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CHRIS CORNELL, AND IF HE KNEW PEOPLE WERE PUTTING EDDIE AND PEARL JAM DOWN IM SURE HE WOULD NOT APPRECIATE IT. WHAT THE HELL? NOT JUST SAD BUT REALLY MEAN COMMENTS ABOUT PEARL JAM AND EDDIE!! I JUST WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP. CHRIS AND EDDIE WILL FOREVER INTERTWINED. 😊🩷🤘✌️ ALWAYS HATING ON MATT TOO FOR JOINING PEARL JAM.
Some of the best live vocals ever in my opinion. There will never be another cornell. His songwriting, voice, and overall presence can't be replicated. No baritone is hitting these notes with that much power. RIP to my personal GOAT voice.
This it IT , nothing compares to this. NOTHING!!!!! No matter how many years go by it is still this moment in time that does it for every cell of my being.
Everything about the song slaves and bulldozers is made perfectly.Chris's vocals are solid to the stone fucking kims guitar is on the fucking set matts drums are loud as fuck! And ben shepperd bass rhythim is sexy
The 90s was a great fucking time to be going to shows and getting into heavy music. I saw Soundgarden play at the Warfield in San Francisco in late '91 and they simply tore it up. Just an incredible hard rock performance. Then I saw them on the '92 Lollapalooza tour. Also good. But this band was best experienced in smaller club venues (with crowds of one or two thousand maniacs). I'll never forget that Warfield show when they were touring Badmotorfinger. This video of Slaves and Bulldozers takes me right back. Chris Cornell RIP.
Badmotorfinger is in my opinion Soundgarden's best album. I mean sonically, lyrically and vocally it hits the bullseye every time. The vocal ferocity is delivered with such unflinching confidence and riffs could collapse a 20 storey building. I don't know any other time that Cornell has sounded as good. If I could write just one song as good as any on the album I'd die a happy man and the bastards wrote 12 of them haha. Definately one of the greatest albums of all time.
RIP Chris. Thanks for the memories, the headbangs and the rest of what remains of my life to rock out to you and your cohorts. Sad I won't see you live again, I would have liked that - just one more song. Peace to your family and my fellow fans, we've lost a good one.
Oh, and also, I love the I'm Eighteen part. "I like it, love it, like it, love it." Chris wrote two songs for Alice Cooper, and did backing vocals on one. My two favorite bands, Alice then Soundgarden.
definitivamente esta es la mejor presentacion de soundgarden, no me canso de verlo:) el vocerron, la musica bieeeeeeen vergas tooooooooooooodooooooooooo!!!!
Unbelievable performance. So so cool how he worked those other songs into the jam at the end. Nobody can even challenge Chris, can't wait for the reunion tour.
I just love this, like this, so much! It is so relaxing to listen to before I try to sleep. Funny thing was I turned my radio up and Alice Cooper was playing 'Alive' by Pearl Jam on his show on Planet Rock which I listen to every night. I live in England by the way, and love his show because he plays Soundgarden and other great bands I love. They hardly ever play the music I like on mainstream radio. I love watching these live shows of early Soundgarden, and Audioslave. Chris is my favourite singer.
Every word I said is what I mean Every word I said is what I mean Everything I gave is what I need Virgin eyes and dirty looks On what I have and why I took Counting all the hands I shook Now I know why you've been shaking Now I know why you've been shaking Now I know why you've been shaking Now I know why you've been shaking So bleed your heart out There's no more rides for free Bleed your heart out I said what's in it for me, what's in it for me Everything I've held is what I've freed Everything I've held is what I've freed Everything I've shown is what I feel Buying lies and stealing jokes And laughing every time I choke Biding all the time you took Now I know why you've been taken Now I know why you've been taken Now I know why you've been taken Now I know why you've been taken So bleed your heart out There's no more rides for free, yeah Bleed your heart out I said what's in it for me, what's in it for me What's in it for, what's in it for Every word I said is what I mean Everything I gave is what I need Everything I've held is what I've freed Everything I've shown is what I feel Virgin eyes and dirty looks On what I have and why I took Counting all the hands I shook Now I know why you've been shaking Buying lies and stealing jokes And laughing every time I choke Biding all the time you took Now I know why you've been taken
He truly pushed the limits of vocal self expression. I'm a very strong singer and this is truly one of the most challenging songs one could ever attempt to sing. He was amazing♡ "Jesus was his friend"...he'll be ok up there RIP
I was at this show and this really brings back memories. It was actually better being there. I remember The Melvins opened this show and rocked the crowd as well. Four months later, I saw these guys at Lolapalooza in Bremerton. Such good times! I've forgotten how great music was compared to today's music.
I love how genuine and authentic 90s Grunge was. No choreographed dance moves. Insanely talented musicians coming to life with each song. Great time for rock n Roll, great time to be a fan of rock n roll!Roll!! I was lucky enough to see many bands from this era. some of the greatest memories I have are from 90s concerts.....
this is deffinetly the heaviest live track by Soundgarden in my book. I recommend to just listen to this video [minimize the window or scroll down]. Then you'd probably think this cant be live, this sounds fuckin finesse! Play the video again and watch it this time. Its unbelievable how badass they sound while having such a great time performing.
Search for the "SOUNDGARDEN LIVE '92 - Slaves & Bulldozers" video and then tell me about it. F*ing amazing is an understatement. That whole show is outrageously good.
I'm not worthy enough for this video...Matter of fackt nobody is worthy enough for this video...I kneel and bow in honor then i watch it...Its greatness is toooo much...The quality is awesome for a live performance....Yeah like the kid said...RU-vid is stupid for not letting you give it ten billion stars
yeah. i love audioslave. great band all three of their albums were solid. especially their first and third albums. and even tho most of his long time fans despise his new work with timbaland, i actually quite enjoy that material as alot. people arent looking at it for what it is. even if its not rock, its still an artistic album with alot of integrity. let it be known, i love chris's new work with timbaland.lol
