Sadly Johnny Craig was booted from this band too. So this album was the only good one that had him as vocalist. Check out True Colors that's good song too
He was also the lead singer for several of Dance Gavin Dance albums. His replacement is something else, too. Check them out, sometime. Incredible band.
He also is the singer for a few Emarosa albums. He’s also a singer in Isles & Glaciers. He also has solo albums under Jonny Craig. He also robbed fans for money and drugs numerous times during a nasty drug addiction years ago. He’s my favorite singer and my least favorite human I’ve ever met. I’ve met him twice and both times he was toxic to his fans. Only reason he was nice to me is because I had drugs.
I met him when he had been sober for one year and he was such a nice dude. I’ve met lots of artists and he was one of the genuinely nicest dudes. He was way smaller too than I imagined.
This music is my inspiration. I listened to this song directly before I played at the last gig that my grandmother ever saw me and my band play. I asked her if she enjoyed the show, and she said "I only wish it was longer". She passed away about a month later, I am always happy and blessed that she could see me put my heart out there for her. She was the only audience I cared about that night. Love you grandma
Kick me when I'm down Keep me on the ground From the ones who I thought they would never leave Who gave you so much faith? Who gave you so much power? You turned it all against me I'm feeling alive like it's the first time But you're goin' and you're goin' and you're gone tonight I'm feeling alive like it's the first time Never gonna be a part of me this time I know you'll write me off I know you're always gonna count me out You think I'm gonna let you down? I know you'll write me off I know you're always gonna count me out You think I'm gonna let you down? Just wait, just wait, just wait Kick me when I'm down Keep me on the ground There's no black and white when it comes to pain All I gave up, it's still not enough You're twisting my demons like there is no love When push comes to shove that fine line gives up I'm left with the feeling of chasing a rush I'm feeling alive like it's the first time But you're goin' and you're goin' and you're gone tonight I'm feeling alive like it's the first time Never gonna be a part of me this time I know you'll write me off I know you're always gonna count me out You think I'm gonna let you down? I know you'll write me off I know you're always gonna count me out You think I'm gonna let you down? Just wait Gonna show what I've got left You haven't even seen my best Just wait All I gave up Still not enough Kick me when I'm down I know you'll write me off I know you're always gonna count me out You think I'm gonna let you down? I know you'll write me off I know you're always gonna count me out You think I'm gonna let you down? Just wait Don't count me out Won't let you down I'm never gonna let you down (Don't count me out, don't count me out) (Don't write, I won't let you down)
This is the song that got me into Slaves, and now they are one of my all time favorite bands. Their music is golden and I listen to them pretty much every day
I just stumbled upon this band, this dudes voice is absolutely mind blowing! I can not stop listening to these guys. thank you spotify recommendations...
His soul is too genuine for this world. He wouldn't be attacked by demons if he didn't have such a gift. It's sad. Addiction takes the most beautiful people. Rather they are alive or dead, it takes them. His lyrics are just perfect. So sad.
I just started listening to the whole album for about a week. It has been such a long time since EVERY SINGLE song on an album gave me feelings and emotions. Beautiful Death is one of the best albums I've ever heard. It's rare for me to enjoy every song on any album and BD is one of them. This album can do no wrong. I'm a fan.
Y’all are talking like the man is dead. I realize he has demons, highly publicized ones. We all have demons and his personal life shouldn’t be any of our business. Respect to an immense talent. This man is a legend and one of the best vocalists to ever do it.
You mean *was* carrying them. Sure, he has a unique voice but the new singer is gonna be better for the band in the long run. Fewer issues to deal with ;)
This song is so bloody good. His voice really matches the lyrics very well. Great vocal range too. Deserves a lot of recognition. This band is gonna be very big!
@@deathmetalguy100 "Slaves took to social media to announce they have removed frontman Jonny Craig from the band. The news comes after Craig allegedly “chose his addiction over the band” and did not board an international flight for their upcoming tour." ... I don't think they took him back...
I prefer Dance Gavin Dance, and Emarosa. But everything Johnny Craig touches is awesome! Going to see Slaves, and Escape the Fate in Birmingham Alabama!
@@maxwellmusick When he was in Dance Gavin Dance, he was on their Ep, Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean, their debut album, Downtown Battle Mountain, and Downtown Battle Mountain II. In Emarosa he was on Relativity, and their self titled album Emarosa
One of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard. JC has such a good and pure talent. I’m so sad because he’s struggling so much with his addiction. He needs to get better in his personal but his voice is pure gold
if you're new to Jonny Craig as an artist it may be fun for you to check out his older work with Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, and Isles & Glaciers. He's also got a handful of solo projects.
This is how I originally found Slaves. This song spoke to me so much, I decided to keep following this band. When the album To Better Days was released, I was so excited that they released another album, I had no idea the singer was different. I had absolutely no idea this guy was the original singer. It just speaks volumes of the new singer and the power of the musicians. I am devastated that the original singer has had problems, but I am fully invested. RAIN CITY, let’s go.
"You haven't even seen my best" - we know, all the talent to be one of the biggest artists in the world and it saddens me that we'll never see Jonny at his best. Addiction is no laughing matter and I hope stays clean and focuses on the incredible talent he has.
This band is awesome I just discovered them this song is awesome the vocals are unreal I was listening to a lot of their songs on the way home from work I’m definitely hooked
Oh I give up, it’s still not enough. Kick me when I’m down, keep me on the ground. I love this song. Currently going thru some hard times and hits like home. Thank you for your Gift in music
only 43k views wtf! I'm still shocked. Amazing song I listen to this all the time. It's raw real and I can't help but think we've all known someone or been there in a sense.
Man I just found this song a month ago. Fuck I can't stop listening to it as well as the rest of their music. Johnny's voice is a thing of beauty and when he yells "Juuust waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait" chills and goosebumps! 🔥 🔥
Can’t believe how far he’s come from Ema, DGD, and Slaves. He’s a dad now and sober. Everyone has their moments, not everyone has the press and fans to watch their every moves though.
So it’s okay to abuse your fans and band mates and I guess sexual assault is cool too as long as someone learns from it? The dude is obviously talented but it went to waist time after time because he couldn’t keep his head up and focus on becoming a better person. The fuck out of here with you’re defending him non sense.
@@tvo8977 fuck out of here with your bullshit and misinformation. Every single band you mentioned moved on and became bigger without him, so there's no reason to feel bad for them. That shit was like ten years ago. Plus, he never actually sexually assaulted anyone. People take that story way too far. Since you think you're backing up everyone he hurt, it's ironic that you're not glad he's in a better place in life where he's not the harmful person he use to be. Fuckin herb.
@@goodapolloimburningstariv7539 You're obviously misinformed and don't know how to do any research. Fuck out of here you moron. I don't forgive people that sexually assault women, nor do i think they deserve forgiveness. Why don't you read up a bit, or listen to the testimony's of his victim rather than letting your fanboy obsession of a monster stand in the way of what a person has done. Read up before you run your mouth. You sound like a fucking MORON.
Just recently found these guys last week. And holy fucking shit omfg Aaaaah!!!! Soooo good!!! The band is icredible. And the singer's voice is just unreal. So glad I found this band!! Addicted!😍
I'm not an anime fan, but this song sounds like it could be used in the end credits to an anime show. It has the right mixture of guitar, upbeat vocals, and appropriate lyrics describing perseverance. The lyrics are also in English which is convenient too. Regardless, it's a very uplifting song. I personally rank it up there with Throne by BMTH.
Legit heard this on the radio like 3 years ago Maybe more and look for it for almost 2 years cuz I forgot the name and was so happy when I was able to find it shit just hits
This is and always will be my favorite song by Slaves (followed by Talk to a Friend), and the new singer of Slaves doesn't hold a candle to Jonny Craig, in my opinion, even though he is a great singer as well. Jonny just has that sound you can only get from having personal torment and anguish, that makes you feel the lyrics and not just hear them. I hope he overcomes his addictions and get back to making songs as powerful as this.
