The Balkans comprise the areas of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Vardaska, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. What wonderful music!

My girlfriend said she has witches in her heritage, and considers herself a voodoo princesses, but considering my bloodline I’m a gypsy prince, and a viking lord.
This is beautiful music! Not only should the group Dikanda be given credit, these songs should be translated into English so that more can enjoy them! This is gorgeous music! Very soulful and full of harmony!
I disagree, not all music can or should be translated into English. All cultures have their own tunes and tales, and they're best experienced in their native tongue.
@@basic5926 i think we can enjoy both listening to the songs in their beautiful native language but also enjoy reading the translation to see what the songs are about :)
@@henlokitty3358 translating the words, yes of course that's fine, but I do agree that these songs are best sung in their native languages and not in English. It takes away the charm of the music. A slavic Pagan :)
Minute 8:20 - Jovano Jovanke Jovano, Jovanke you are sitting by the River Vardar, washing the white linens washing the white linens, dear and looking up all the time. Jovano, Jovanke I am waiting for you to come to my home but you are not coming, dear my heart, Jovano. Jovano, Jovanke your mother is not letting you to come to me, dear my heart, Jovano.
I come from a very musical family from bohemia. My grandmother always said that we're descendant from "bohemian gypsies". As an American, i always thought that was an exaggeration of culture. Then i took a DNA test. It traced a migration from India into eastern Europe. When i told my grandmother, she responded with the most stern "I told you so!" That I've ever heard.😮
i wouldn't know the dialect but some of my Jewish ancestors did .... I'm sure Lithuania, Latvia, Poland.. it speaks to my European roots .... enjoy you Gypsies, (sorry Romani and Sinta ) xxx
Roma, roma! A myślałem, że tylko cyganie takie inteligetne są. A proszę górale też cwaniaczą. Jak wy górale polscy Papieżowi takie pieśni śpiewaliście, to chyba owce poczarniały na halach. A Jan Paweł II tak Wam górale zaufał! Ajde jano!
@@stickystick1048 Generally, this is Balkan music. Some may say Romani, though this is such a cross roads, it is hard to tell what started where or what spread there....
Same, but as good fortune would have it a random stranger just this second offered to sell me a very similar bike at a very similar price, so I can still get to work tomorrow.
