Ale iste by si viac rozumel portugalskemu jazyku a spanielskemu jazyku ak by tam sedeli slecny, ktore by hovorili tymito jazykmi. :) Pocul som, ze portugalsky jazyk ktorym sa hovori v Brazilii, je odlisny od portugalskeho jazyka, ktorym sa hovori v Portugalsku. Neviem, ci je to pravda, alebo vymysel.
@@CSC313 You're right, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese are two different dialects, while they're both the same languages there are many differences in their pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, truly an interesting thing!! Also there are other Portuguese dialects like the Angolan Portuguese and the Macanese Portuguese
Hearing Polish unlocks tons of sweet memories when I stayed in Poland for 3 months. It’s almost a decade since I went there and I can still picture the language clearly.
10:47 The Ottomans. The Ottomans happened. “Masa” is “table” in modern Turkish, so, it must have gotten absorbed into Bulgarian as a loan word at some point during the 482 years that Bulgaria was under Ottoman rule (most-likely after the Fall of Constantinople in 1453). Languages are fun that way. They frequently act as a sort of hidden history that we never really think about in the day-to-day of speaking, reading, and writing them.
Spanish and Portugese is "mesa" and Romanian "masa". It is probably a source from the Romance or Latin language. The sentence structure of South Slavic languages is very similar to Romance Italian or Spanish.
I am native Russian and I understood: Russian and Belarussian 100% Polish 90% (probably because in North Kazakhstan we have many Polish people and we used to have TV-channel in Polish, so the language is quite familiar for me) Slovakian Serbian and Bulgarian 60% Check 50% (probably it depend of person, as I understoon Slovakian girl much better, while they told that their languages are very similar).
But out of all the countries represented in this video, Serbians speak good Russian compared to the rest of the Slavs. You could tell there was a connection, a bond between the Russian girl and the Serbian girl
@@andyx6827 Serbia is the only country in Europe ( along with Hungary) that supported Russia when they invade Ukraine so yes out of these 8 girls , you can bet that the Russians and Sebians are very good friends. They're allies.
Jesus, I'm Pole and Serbian and Bulgarian is black magic for me. Russian is little above but I don't know this language(It was taught in schools a long time ago due to the Soviet occupation).
Not really. IF i'm not mistaken Czechs and SLovakians speak the same language ( correct me if I'm wrong?) yet Spaniards and Portuguese speak different languages
@@andreigierwagen5759 It's the “same”, but they say otherwise due to historical and geopolitical reasons. In the case of Spanish and Portuguese languages, they share 89% of the same lexicons, but, yeah, they are totally different.
I'm also used to this language... I just need to go to the other room to listen to it, and I don't even have to move because I can already hear this language.
I'm from Czech Republic and for me understanding is: - Slovakia = 100% - Poland = 65% - Serbia = 40% - Rusia, Belarus, Bulgaria = 10% + Slovenia and Croatia was not present (about 65% for Slovenia and 45% for Croatia)
Can I say how wowed I am on their grasp of multiple slavic languages ...but their fluency in English takes them to another level. They probably also speak Korean.
The slavic languages are the only group that are mutually understandable between its natives. I've never seen Romance, germanic, or Finno ugric natives could've talked in their languages and everybody would understand each other.
I appreciate you inviting Polina to take part in this. Seems like a sweet young lady. I also appreciate Andrea wearing "Czech Republic", even if it is mostly for English speaking eyeballs. I imagine it would be Cesko something. Be proud of your form of government and your Constitution. If I was there, I'd wear "The Republic of the United States of America", just to get the point across, even if it means I'd have to wear a big sign. I like people who understand the flak they may get from doing something but demonstrate courage.
This channel could make a video, for example, speakers of Romance languages would have an Italian speaker say a phrase, or saying, riddle in Italian and the other participants in Spanish, Portuguese or french would have to guess and vice versa, the same with Asian and Germanic languages.
@andyx6827 but the videos they made were short words to find out if they were the same or similar in their languages. I'm talking about whole sentences, like a whole video, for example, of an Italian person speaking and the others trying to find out what that person is saying just like on the channel called ECOLINGUIST
Also, the letter ( Ü / ü ) doesn't exist in the English language. Moreover, based on English orthography and pronunciation rules, when the letter ( E / e ) comes alone at the end of a word, meaning unpaired with another vowel, it's called a ( Silent E ), and it alters the sound of the preceding vowel. Based in this, the word ( Turkiye ) should be pronounced as ( tuhrk • ai ), with ( ai ) sounding exactly like the English word ( Eye ). So yeah, we should definitely continue saying and writing ( Turkey ),,,,, in the English language at least.
Interesting vid. Did not understand a word of what they said but it nice to listen to. I agree with what the Serbian woman said about Russian. Russian is a beautiful language and not really aggressive at all. Would like to see a vid comparing African nationalities, ethnic groups and their languages.
I am from Poland I am very disappointed why there is anybody from Ukraine. Especially since they are now paying with blood in defense of their country.
@Thunderworks What's wrong with you what do you they are wrong. why don't you just leave them alone or better yet don't watch their videos of languages. who gives a rats ass they they are right or wrong. why don't you delete ur own comment. it's all about having fun. if you can not get that throught ur head why bother watching World friends. Chennal on youtube.
Here we have the most racist countries which are found in Central Europe: Poland, Czechia/Slovakia ( and Austria, Hungary) and surprisingly the least racist countries in Europe: Russia, Serbia ( and Ukraine)! It's cool they invited girls from most Slavic countries but they forgot Ukraine, Slovenia and Croatia! They should have invited a Slovenian, Croatian and a Ukranian girl! Because Slavs from various slavic countries are different. They are not the same and have a different mentality. And because Ukraine is the least racist country out of all European countries but Croatians and Slovenians ( whom they didn''t invite in this video) are the most racist countries in the Balkans whereas Serbians are the least racist in the Blakans The reason being is Serbians and Russians are friends and both speak the same language ( you can tell in this video, the Russian girl and Serbian girl understand each other and seem to like eachother!) But yeah according to the stats about who voted the most and the least for the right wing in european countries, Russia, Ukraine and Serbia are bottom of the list with the lowest amount of seats and lowest percentage of votes for the right wing whereas in the rest of Europe the right wing is on the rise where the right wing form a majority in the governement whether it's in Western Europe ( France, Italy, Holland, Belgium, ) Southern Europe ( Portugal, Italy), Central Europe ( Austria, Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia), Northern Europe/SCandinavia ( Norway, Sweden, Finland), the Baltic states ( Latvia, estonia), The Balkans ( Slovenia, Croatia, Macedeonia, Greece, Romania,) I didn"t mention Germany, Spain, Belarus, Lithuania and Denmark because I'm on the fence about those countries whether they're racist or not. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_active_nationalist_parties_in_Europe
Nenalepkuj jednotlive narody rasizmom. Otazkou je, co je v tvojom ponimani rasizmus? To ze napr. Cesko, Slovensko, Polsko a Madarsko nechcu na svojom uzemi migrantov z Afriky, alebo moslimov z Arabskych krajin? Na takyto postoj ma vacsina spomenutych statov velmi dobre dôvody.
@@CSC313 "The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary do not want migrants from Africa or Muslims from Arab countries on their territory? Most of the mentioned states have very good reasons for such an attitude." Yeah most countries in Europe ( except Russia, Ukraine and Serbia who are the least racist countries in europe) dont want non-whites foreigners suxh as Africans and Arabs simple because they are not white! Sorry but that's pure racism. If so tell me why don't they want colored people in their countries then?
@@CSC313 Racism is being racist towards non -white people hence voting for the right wing fascist racist political party which the majority of the population of these countries have done. For what reason would those European countries not want Arabs or Africans? Because they're not white and not because they're terrorists. So that's pure racism and discrimination based on their skin color!
