A very interesting remark goes undiscussed, about the "creative resistance" group in New York. I wish they spoke about that more, and asked themselves why that name was agreed upon by the younger (I assume) activists in New York. I think it represents a schism between generations. I don't know that group specifically but I understand their feeling precisely, I'm in that same "creative class" of young people who does creative work for a living, but badly wants to commune, discuss, and act politically. I meet with people here in California where the same problem arises, we are together in the same room, and we have plenty to discuss, the energy is there, but when it comes time to decide what to do, or what group to create, it's very difficult to form something concrete. And since there are many creative people in the room, creating media together seems logical. It's no surprise to me, "Creative Resistance" being agreed upon by a group of people eager to get together and create change, and aware that media, maybe social-media seems to be the most direct route to take. Of course it always comes back to money, and some people see an overlap in creating activist media...documentaries for instance, that can somehow be profitable... this I think is the crux, where Harvey gets turned off by the idea of the younger creative activists who want to blend their passions, who are trying desperately to make the "gig-economy" work for them, while Harvey may not have to worry about making rent for the next month. Anyway, I do think we need to get together in real life, and discuss, debate, and argue with the older leftists who live in your city. We younger people need to be in the debate too, even if we're asking naive questions, filming with our iPhones, as long as it gets the ball rolling.
