Your skill at drafting a garment is outstanding. If I did not have a pattern, I would be lost. I've only made one outfit in my life, and have only worn it once. I took Home Ec classes as a child, and almost failed the class. I think the teacher felt sorry for me, for I do not have a homemaker's bone in my body. Always enjoyed working outside the home. Now that I'm retired, I'm trying to learn some basic sewing skills. You did an excellent job making that pinafore dress. Your tutorials are very well done. I have been watching some tutors but they are not as detailed as you are. You are thorough and even a novice can follow through but others sometime their tutorials are cut and join. God bless the works of your hands.

why not measure ur daughter since you have her with you, as for the lining you can cut it into two like the fabric and add after you have joined the band to the gathered lower part
