Correction to the video, right now Physical damage is only triggering DR on warlock if from a melee source (as of HF #37) - I am going to check if this is an intended mechanic or not!
I swear this channel is the holy grail of dark and darker, literally when my friends got me the game the first thing they said to do was to watch ur stuff!
I appreciate your videos Ryan! The tone of voice, the information, and everything else are all worth watching and helped me a lot. Hope you have a good one man!
Thanks Ryan :) Edit: Might I make a suggestion in regards to the perks? I completely agree with Slayer, Dual Wield, and Sword Mastery as those provide great value to Slayer Fighter (and you don't really have any other obvious perks to choose from). However, I think that there's some nuance for what the fourth perk can be . . . I see that you recommended Combo Attack or Adrenaline Spike - personally, I think that Combo attack is borderline useless as it only provides an average value of 3.3% physical power bonus in a three attack combo. This is the same as a singular affix roll on a piece of gear which you can easily obtain through normal means. Adrenaline Spike, however, may come in clutch when you need it, but it only provides you value if you're low on health meaning it provides you no value whatsoever beyond that circumstance. My personal recommendation for the 4th perk is Projectile Resistance. You're playing a slayer fighter, which means that you're not using a shield and you're not wearing plate; you're vulnerable to projectiles of all kinds. In most PvP fights, projectiles are thrown around often - both magical and physical. Since Slayer Fighter is vulerable to being hit by ranged attacks, I think that the 10% resistance to projectiles would provide more and consistant value in gameplay. Even outside of PvP. Depending on your base health, PDR, and MDR - the 10% projectile resistance can add anywhere between 10 to 20 effective HP vs projectiles.
Hello, slayer main here. This is a fantastic start for building a slayer. I wanted to add that against classes that don't have great long ranged options like barb, cleric, and warlock, you can really get leverage out of your move speed by playing the annoying mid-range. It works against some other opponents as well, anyone who swaps away from their primary weapon really, but these classes are particularly weak against a fast character with ranged damage. All you have to do is poke with your ranged weapon from a distance just outside of their melee range and force them to either chase you forever or swap off their weapons. The moment they swap you should pop sprint if you have it and close the gap into melee, getting at least one but possibly more free hits. Once again, the moment they start reacting to your rush you immediately jump back, put away your weapons midair, and get back in your mid-range pocket. This is why move speed is outrageously important, on a build like slayer you will almost certainly be faster than your opponent and can take full advantage of their inability to fight back from range. The only exception to this strategy is wizard. Magic missile from a geared wizard will destroy you, don't mess around and find out. Wizards are arguably the strongest solo class right now when geared, do not engage and if you must then your only hope is to kite with doors, hit all your ranged shots, and dodge all of their spells.
Ryan, thank you for being hands down the best content creator for dark and darker. Your videos and editing style are clear, concise, and fun to watch unlike someone else I know *cough* Onepeg *cough* . Your videos have made me the demigod player I am today and for that I’m extremely grateful. Keep up the fantastic work and have a great weekend ❤ 🤗
Since HotFix 58, I've started running Slayer Fighter with Weapon Mastery on, giving me access to a bow, but more importantly, allowing me to equip the Stiletto and Morning Star with zero negatives. That means my main weapons have a total 20% armor penetration. It's treated me real well so far.
4:20 been trying to tell people this for so long.. when you jump it makes it super easy to predict where you will land making it a free shot... I do like how in this game you can "contort" your hitbox by turning to the side etc so its not ALL bad.. but for the most part if someone is patient and picks their shot.. its basically free.
Yes, please do keep on slayer fighter-ing it up. My ranger is loving all the move speed and additional damage loot you guys drop when I burst you with one Q.
Why not use the Falchion with the Shortsword? PS: I was a little confused to if you meant 2 left clicks and 1 right click Or you meant 2 left sword swíngs and 1 right sword swing?
how do you properly use dual wielding, I find myself only attacking with the stronger weapon, should I just hold both mouse buttons instead/alternate presses?
What do you do with Rangers? He is kinda better om range and they are faster. I don't understand this matchup. What am I supposed to do other but W key, throw frannies and pray? 😅
Why castilon dagger tho ? its not a sword u are not getting sword mastery benefit ? or u just keep it as a stat stick not ever using it only falchion is in action
haha I already did my fighter hit piece a while back, might be time for another due to the stat rework but I honestly think Bard is stronger at the moment but that could be just personal experience because I have been playing more Bard lately
at 6:00 u say any physical dmg puts dark reflection on cooldown(such as throwing axes and crossbow shots) but it is only melee attacks that does so. you can see yourself take damage from it in the clip. just don't want anyone getting the wrong information. obviously still enjoyed the video :D
I always get off topic questions answered watching your stuff, as you do not shy away from including information for everything as we go. (In this case, I didn't realize that there was a duration for BOC to drop, and that you could wait it out). Thank you for all the info you share, another great video.
I'm a little confused... any physical damage removes the dark reflection stacks but.. I am thinking of a time when I was in full legendaries hit a warlock with 3+ throwing knives and at least 1 crossbow bolt then pushed over the hydra like you did and hit him melee with demons glee and the dark reflect took over half my hp and BOC in the arm took the rest... needless to say I Was extremely tilted getting absolutely 1 tapped by a guy in blues who played awfully every step of the fight, just hiding behind a hydra in door way sucking it off eating crossbow bolts to the face... So like my confusion is at what point do the dark reflection stacks come off? how did he get them back? Is it new that any physical damage pops it? cause this was before wipe. I think I clipped it so i'll have to watch again but... from what you are saying about the franny or crossbow he should have lost his stacks..
There is no real beneficial combo for the Falchion and the Castillon Dagger so when using this pair I typically only attack with the Falchion. There are some VERY niche situations that the Castillon should be used but it is primarily just a stat stick used to activate the Slayer perk for the Falchion with minimal move speed penalty.
