I was there... lost my mobile phone in the moshpit, but a lovely metalhead had found it and returned it afterwards, was a bliss to this then bruised dude :P
They made mistakes in the World Painted Blood and Chemical Warfare songs but the cool thing is, that you know they are actually playing their instruments and that the singing is real -and not backing tracks!! Hard to find originality in live concerts these days!!
I was there. It was fucking awesome! I met Gary Holt too! I kinda felt like the sound was a bit weak tough :/ But that could have been because i fucked my ears up at Amon Amarth a couple of hours before.. Anyhow. Awesome show by Slayer! Great effects! Just great. The moshpit i was in was pretty weak and unorganized tough. I would like to see them again. As a single concert. Not at a festival.
Did Gary have a beer in hand? I met the band Anthrax in a meet n greet last year in Sacramento when Testament and Slayer played with them. Gary had a beer and walked by us with a chick that had huge cans and said, "ANT-TRAX!!" haha
So much love and respect for Slayer, they stick to theirs for almost 40 years, playing and making real thrash metal music and not change to something pop like others, I saw them twice live, sad not able to see Jeff cause at the first time he was already sick. So much love and respect for keep their line really clear all the way for a long career, I know this is a way to make business but they did it on their terms. Hope in some point in the future they can tour again and release a new album but we know this guys are getting old and they deserve a retire. Thank you very much Slayer for all that you give us, a lot of inspiration to metal musicians and metal fans
Fucking slayer seen them couple weeks ago at merriweather post pavilion Maryland best show in years perfect vocals, drums and guitar sound amazing show !!!!!
One thing I’ve been noticing this past year is that Kerry seems to have trouble playing his leads. Just comparing them to last year and prior, he seems to use more wah than normal and makes lots of noticeable mistakes. I know everybody believes he sucks as a player but comparatively to how his solos are normally played live, this year seems to be giving him issues. I would assume arthritis and getting old makes playing harder and he’s probably fallen victim to that. Sad to see these guys age but I’m happy they’re going out on top and on their own terms
I noticed these too, we can't really blame him. Arthritis can screw you up even at a young age. But at least he is trying his best for these mistakes not to be as visible as some live mistakes can be.
Studio Cottage - Has anyone heard Kerry play outside of slayer regularly? Also, if he can play in slayer, I’d say he’s pretty fuckin good at guitar. It’s easy to hate on him cuz he can be cocky and condescending sometimes as a person. But to simply trash his guitar skill is dumb. He’s also getting old. Playing slayer riffs for almost 40 years will give anybody arthritis and sore hands when your old. These classic 80s thrashers are all adapting. Kirk, Kerry, even Dave M. Just respect the talent. And he wrote most of the riffs, especially after Jeff passed. There’s no Slayer without Lombardo meeting Kerry King back in the day, so lay off will ya. Be happy we witnessed this awesome band. I agree about Gary tho.
I love Gary Holt but his solos on some songs is lacking compared Jeffs solos. I know they're 2 different guitar players but the War Ensemble solo seemed like shorter and less dynamic.. Miss Jeff 😔
Hey!!...paul is getting old and some stuff is not tight as used to be....but there's some issue with the p.a. sound...and can be worst if this is outdoors because of the wind
@@jurgencuypers8350 Im not even American, first of all. Furthermore i obviously undetstood what you meant with gig. My point was that, with gig, people usually refer to a smaller performance, which helps bands to grow. Since slayer is one of the most known Bands in existence i wouldnt refer to it as a gig. It's obviously still correct, but the context of the sentence made me laugh.
Will you guys ever stop complaining about the drums? Every single uploaded concert with Paul it's the same ole, same ole! Let it go, if Slayer doesn't have an issue with his playing, why should you?
