Never saw Phil with Pantera. I have seen him twice with Down and he was actually great. Saw Him once with the Illegals and they were fantastic too, played some Panteraa tunes and smashed them of course but Phil was better with Down, purely because they played their music as a team, a proper band. They walked out and owned the stage and the crowd from the first minute til the last. Both times it was a real pleasure to watch them do what they do best. On top of that, there's the fact that they played Bury Me In Smoke and it is an absolute weapon of a song. Phil has always been a controversial figure but as a frontman there aren't many who can beat his energy.
Laszlo FARKAS J. Hahha well world peace would be outstanding but definitely this is awsome Tom and Phil singing together like they mean it FUCKING HOSTILE 💪💪
Well Tom can't head bang anymore, he has a metal rod in his spine because back in the day (which was quite recently) he would headbang his fucking head off almost literally, so they had to put a metal rod in his spine. Enabling him from doing all these crazy things.
Nobody talks about his bass playing or his bass sound. He's an absolutely solid player and his sound is quite unconventional for metal, I've never seen him let loose, but I imagine he has quite a few tricks hidden away in his arsenal
@Deb Morales R.I.P. Vinnie Paul as well. Vinnie joined Dime not that long ago. I really wanted the Pantera guys to get the band back together. But, Vinnie and Dime both dying was not exactly the way I hoped that reunion was going to happen.😭 The good news is, Vinnie and Dime get to rock together forever. I guess the only question is, are they rocking heaven...or hell? Well, wherever it is? It's loud and heavy as shit. A musical bulldozer and steamroller warring in heaven. "Walk on home, boy" takes on a whole new meaning, now, since two of them have walked on home forever already. Speaking of making myself sad.😭😭
You gotta admit, that true class right there. Phil telling it like it is, Slayer so humble, they come up there and play those songs. Truly about the music and about being fucking humans to each other. Awesome!
Since we didn't had the oportunity at '01 to saw Pantera with Slayer in Greece, the show was canceled due to the events of 9/11, that cover pay the debt. RIP Dimme, RIP Jeff.
this brings me tears of joy you know? Slayer and Pantera were the 2 firsts metal bands in my childhood, I grew up listen to them, if I ever could see them in the same stage, I could die happy on the next day
and this, ladies and gentleman, is what Phil sounds like when he gets excited and has a real, true metal band behind him. I can't wait for the new Superjoint album.
Slayer was our punching bag growing up. Without being able to hear Slayer..alot of us would be in jail. ..and a lil weed helped level us to normalcy. Lmao. TrueStory! Listening to Slayer..thrashing our skulls..fists pumping..not bumping..king of air guitar..air drums..EVERYONE WAS A GOD..WITH SLAYER !!!! \m/ thank God for their sweet little diddys. Slayer..SAVED THE WORLD. 😕😬🚬
These guys make an amazing band together & the only way they could be any better is if Dime & Hanneman were down here playing with them. RIP Darrell Lance Abbott & Jeff John Hanneman
Saw these guys on stage together in Huntington, WV. 2001, if I remember correctly. Phil sat on the side of the stage and drank like 12 beers during Slayer’s set. We were kind of concerned that Pantera wouldn’t be able to play when he stood up and staggered.
The last fucking hostile. I was like damn Phil kinda still got it. After all these years of drugs smoking and alcohol . and screaming his head off. What a legend
Seeing Tom Araya or James Hetfield do backing vocals on their own show is a different kind of feeling. This performance has great metal personalities all in one.
When ever Tom says "in turn" I think of that track on the box set of him screaming at the security guards and audience "IN TURN YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THEM"
