That's the SG Carrie played on the '06s tour and they are rocking harder right now than ever before. This might be their best tour yet.

I saw them Monday night with Palehound and they were amazing. 30 years and just sound better than ever. Also really enjoyed Palehound.

Definitely do yourself a huge favor and see them live the first chance you get. They're phenomenal and videos of live performances don't do them justice.

I was there! Really fun show. Carrie was so funny and engaged with the audience and the new songs are amazing live.

@@PK-cb3fk yes, so great! I'd been meaning to see them for years. Missed them at RiotFest 2016, went to 2017 instead and won a signed copy of The Woods. Such a fun show on Monday.

@@pauldidier6101Agreed! The drums feel...non-impactful? Like, Corin and Carrie are still killer, but when I listen to The Woods, Dig Me Out, AHoTBO, Call The Doctor...all three are blisteringly present. While I enjoyed this performance and am always glad to hear more S-K, the drums felt more like an accompaniment and not a driving force.

I think it’s hard for any band that has been around as long as they have, but I also think it doesn’t take anything away from their previous body of work.

Sure, their previous body of work remains as great as it has always been. But with Janet gone, all the new songs lack energy and excitement; they are much less unique. In that sense, Janet clearly defined the style. Implying clear correlation, though it's unclear how much of if is direct causation. Something has changed with the *other* band members, and not for the better. I don't even want to blame the new drummer - who knows what she's got inside of her but can't show [on the new studio recordings]? Even on "The Center Won't Hold", Janet was kind of forced(?) to sound as if she had been in large parts replaced by a drum computer. Who was to blame for that? Whatever has ridden Carrie and Corin, it's a de-volution toward middle-of-the road genericism and more mid-tempo slog. Adding more instrumentation and live performing members? Completely unnecessary. And I'm just not interested anymore in what used to be one of my very favorite bands. I was always hoping for another "The Woods" but I don't think that's in the cards anymore.
