Whatever the beef with Janet is/was, it needs to be fixed and they need her back. Too many guitars, not enough drumming force and the music sounds way too full. This isn’t Sleater Kinney
I agree. I usually find the saying 'less is more' silly, but I think it's true in this case. As a trio they had a uniquely taut concision. This sounds sort of generic to me.
I respect Corin's and Carrie's vision. Janet is great, great, and she did not agree with Corin's and Carrie's ideas, hence the break up. That's life and art.
@@aaronlercher8581Janet said in an interview that Corin and Carrie told Janet that she was no longer going to be giving creative input in any songs in the future. So F that shit.
J'adore. Mais en attendant le nom de la "guitariste additionnelle" qui chante aussi n'est même pas cité dans le descriptif. Elle s'appelle Fabi Reyna et elle est vraiment remarquable.
The new material is just awful. Carrie still rocks the guitar, but Corin - what has happened to "The Voice"? She has lost a lot of the power of her voice. The lyrics to the new song are just sad reminders that even great musicians rust. The percussionists rushes in some sections, drags in others. I can't believe how terrible this once great band sounds now. As Neil Young said, it's better to burn out than to rust, but clearly Sleater-Kinney has grown rusty and less edgy. This new mustic and version of the old material sound like they were catering to grandmothers in their mid-60's. Yikes. I can't restate this enough. They have really lost their edge and this is painful to watch or hear.
This, so many times. This isn't the band I seen in a 150cap club projectile sweating. The fire has gone out, I'd love to blame age but the comeback tour was amazing, this is just boring. Carrie only looks like she's enjoying herself half the time at most, Corin sounds like she's worrying about the babysitter, too many spare parts on stage and a drummer that doesn't fit the sound. Looks like we're wrong though as they're playing bigger shows than they ever did.
Yeah rock voices are not forever but Dig me out was not bad. It sounds like she has some voice issues and tries to save her voice and don't be too loud
I've been a fan since '99. I saw them in 2019 with the new drummer. I was skeptical going into the show due to Janet's departure, but they tore down the house in Austin. I didn't have a chance to see them on the next tour, but I'm looking forward to hearing some Path of Wellness songs live next year because I really like that album. The only song of theirs I don't like is "Bad Dance," which was on The Center Won't Hold. I've never been disappointed by Corin's voice, but on every tour, some performances are bound to be better than others. She sounds like she's intentionally holding back at this show; there could've been any number of reasons, but generally speaking, I think her voice sounds as strong as ever. The following show was late 2021, and Corin sounds great there: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eu04jTESqBg.html I'm loving the singles from Little Rope too; I think the second features one of her best vocal performances.
@@WaitingtoHityeah, I'm sure it's me not them but I'm not enjoying the new side of SK at all, not to worry they'll survive just fine with one less old man in the crowd anyway :)
We need Janet back and Corin's voice to be healed. Seems like she tries to "take it easy" and sing like not so loud. I guess it is due to health issues. And more old stuff. See BRMC, they are mixing old and new stuff on scene very cool.
