Did anybody notice the fresh paint on the wall? Hammer wipes it off with his jacket, leaving a streak mark. Later in the episode, the streaked wall is marked as SOLD in the art gallery ;)
Oh man, from 11:15 to 12:00 Classic! "I'm losing my patience with you, eggplant!", as she's grappling the scruff of his neck. The whole epi is priceless!
Hands down was my favourite episode when I was a kid! Trunk thought he had it bad now he has it in stereo! Wish there were more episodes of Dori being Sledge #2!
23:27 "Ballad of the Green Berets by Sgt. Barry Sadler" has 1.6M views on RU-vid since 2019. 50+ years later, it still means a lot to a lot of people apparently.
On NBC's Hunter, Fred Dryer's character rick hunter said "Works for me." ABC's Sledge Hammer answered back with David Rasche's title character saying "Trust me, i know what I'm doing." Sledge hammer was a comedic parody of (a) Dirty Harry movies with clint eastwood and (b) a dirty harry-esque TV drama called Hunter on NBC. With Sledge teaming with a hot, smart, brainy female partner Dori Doreau (played by Ann-Marie Martin), i could see them as an couple. Sledge hammer was fucking awesome. Too bad it didn't go beyond season 2.
ROFL just noticed this 2 part joke. Part one is the wall paint on Hammers jacket @2:02, and then later, you see the skid mark his jacket left on the wall @19:04
I want to see if people in the world agree with me like the error when Sledgehammer was on that was when TV was good TV. Also another good show Dragnet and emergency those were classic shows that's when TV was also good now the stuff they have on TV is junk. Like for example I cannot stand all those reality shows and stuff like that that's not TV it's just trash. But back in that era that I was talking about sledgehammer and Dragnet emergency that's when TV was good TV.
This show was originally intended to be sold to HBO, but ABC came in at the last minute and outbid them. However, with as awesome as this show is, it's much better now than when it aired since they used a laugh track, that thankfully the producer of the show insisted be removed when this was released on DVD - so now we see the shows how they were intended to been seen.
In all seriousness, I love the list. My father loved Nick Yemana from Barney Miller. I believe the actor was Jack Soo. Barney Miller was before me, but I knew Soo as the black market trader that Hawkeye and Trapper traded Blake's new desk to in the first season of MASH. I remember my dad being sad that Soo died. On a funnier note Leahy from Trailer Park Boys used to be a cop. He was hilarious. Shit, he's dead, too. Smh. Welp, I shoulda just left and stayed gone.....
ABSOLUTELY NJOYD IT! Seeing sexy Cdn actress Dori act like Sledge wz gr8!Reminded me of 1 of my fave St*r Tr*k TOS eps.Mirrorx2,where Leonard Nimoy said he njoyd playing an alternate version! I wish MsAM,MrHP,MrDR,the SH tv kru & all u fanz cont'd Happiness,Health & Success!
This episode's case was about counterfeiting. So why were FBI agents involved?. You don't call in the FBI for counterfeit money. You should call the Secret Service. That's their jurisdiction.
In the art gallery , Why/ were the bad guys only able to shot and hit the gun hand? Why did the good guys think to use the other hand to fire the dropped weapon ?
Everyone's saying this episode was the best, and while it was good, it ruined the chemistry Sledge and Dori had. She was the voice of reason and Sledge was chaos. That kinda fell apart and while it did make an interesting episode, I don't think I'd like this as more than a one off thing. Also this is the shit you do when you run out of ideas :(
