I was so exhausted even after sleeping 8 hours, I’d have to nap throughout the day, and my cognitive function was declining.. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and got on the cpap machine... the machine totally changed my life absolutely feel so much better now
I would say the first week or so was weird getting use to it; couldn’t wear it more than a few hours..... then after about 7-10 days I became use to it and wore it most of the night and started to feel great.
I'm actually surprised there are so many people experiencing this issue. I thought I was having some exotic experience. Not that I want everyone to be sick, but it's so comforting to know I'm not alone in this struggle. And yeah sleep apnea is a real handicap.
@@beerusthedestroyer9325 the Jab gave this condition to a lot of people include myself I was force to take this thing I appeal to not take it and my doctor denied me I was going to be jobless and homeless unfortunately and I can’t believe I’m still alive with auto immune diseases and joint problems now now I have this type of symptom where I can’t sleep or have a goodnight sleep sleep apnea so yeah this jab did it
Nice and very informative video. Sleep apnea can be serious as it may impact our overall health and can increase the risk of heart disease due to reduced oxygen supply. Snoring can be the main symptom of any sleep apnea. Snoring once in a while is alright, but if you are snoring for a quite long period and if your snoring is affecting your day-time activities and your quality of life, then it is always good to talk to a specialist.
I have been diagnosed with severe CSA but never knew it to be what I hope is the main cause of my daily struggles over the last several years. At random times of the day, I lose all ability to read or understand spoken language. I personally never linked that problem to a sleep issue but I hope the treatment will reverse it. I am supposed to start treatment here soon so I hope this is going to fix this issue within the next few weeks after I get my ASV.
@K question , did you ever have like a strange feeling in your head like it’s not a headache but it’s just a aggravating feeling and hard to focus on work I work from home on computer and sometimes get overwhelmed because of the feeling in my head
@@tylerprince2233 yeah it’s really scary..I’ve been feeling like this for about a year sometimes I can’t even remember what I did yesterday..are you getting treatment
First night I used CPAP machine - no morning headache & less daytime sleepiness . Dry mouth sometimes with mask leaks but I feel much better. Therapy works .
I tracked my apnea and found that black and red pepper are triggers. If I avoid those and stay hydrated, I can sleep. The cpap machine was impossible for me. My apnea was horrible. Good luck.
I have suffered from it since childhood. After a sleep test, doctors say your breath stops 11 times an hour, a previous test showed this happens 16 times an hour. Anyway, I am not diagnosed having sleep apnea, but it is ruining my life. It happens every night, making me feel down and having headache in the morning. Sometimes when I'm tired I cannot wake up, and I almost experience death. It's terrible and terrifying. Donno what to do.
I have been medically diagnosed as having sleep apnea. It is also causing me to have atrial fibrilation and high blood pressure as well. I have just got this result this week and the Cardiologist is referring me to a Respiratory specialist at the Austin Hospital but there is a waiting list to get in of 2 years. I am frightened l might die before an appointment becomes available. What am l to do. I feel so ill with all of this.
My suffocating feeling from my sleep apnea causes anxiety. I have dreams of drowning and wake up panicked. The cortisol and adrenaline this produces in my system remains, and I cannot calm down. I have to drink juice and walk, jog or bike. I found that certain foods trigger my apnea. If I stay hydrated and avoid BLACK PEPPER and rep pepper flakes I can sleep well. The cpap machine did not work at all. I'm figuring it out on my own. I'm having success. Good luck. I do not want anyone to suffer what I've gone through.
I feel very bad, when some one says he couldn't sleep due to my snoring. some times i feel difficulty in breathing while sleeping. But the most annyoing thing is my snoring disturbes others.
i was having it i was about to sleep and suddenly couldn't breathe felt like i can't get air in so i panicked and immediately opened yt and it's such a relief that I'm not alone thank you all ....and please can u also recommend me some ways to get out of it

Not sure if I have it but I know 30 seconds or so after I close my eyes I jolt awake feeling like my heart stopped and with a buzzing feeling going through my body
I don't know if it's sleep apnea, but I do have anxiety especially for my sleep, a lot of nights the moment I fall asleep I notice my breathing becomes extremely shallow or just pauses all together until I jolt awake. Most days recently I've felt great, not tired or drowsy and I can still exercise so I wonder what is causing this
I'm experiencing this too. Six years ago I had this issue and saw every specialist for sleep apnea and neither CPAP or BiPAP solved the issue. After months of being on Ambien it finally went away, but now it's back. How are you now?
@@bobo5467 it's still the same, though some nights not so bad, I'm able to fall asleep with little to no issues. However I notice it worsens when I sleep on my left side more than my right. Not sure why. I wake up feeling fine and throughout the day I feel fine so I don't think it's apnea. I'm gonna get checked this Monday I should have done it sooner
@@glizzyman3956 yep. Same. It’s the transition into sleep. I feel a warm wave pass through me, sometimes makes my heart race, and it wakes me up. The cycle continues until I finally fall asleep and I’m good for the night. If I do wake up and go to the bathroom or whatever, it sometimes starts all over again.
Black pepper triggers my apnea. Also red pepper flakes. If I avoid those I sleep well. My apnea can be horrible, it can trigger anxiety issues. I control it with my diet. Good luck, and sleep well.
Did you have panic attacks from it? I can’t sleep until 4-5 am every night and I’m so sleepy during the day. I’m overweight and have PCOS but I’m wondering if I need this.
@@ryleereynolds5710 yes, my apnea can trigger anxiety attacks. The anxiety can be horrible. If I drink more than one or two glasses of wine I don't sleep well. @@rodneysmart9774 thank you! My brother told me to try plant based and my other brother said try carnivore. They are both real fit. my husband told me I stop breathing in my sleep and appear to be suffocating to death. Don’t worry he went back to sleep because “it happens all the time” and he has to keep waking me up. I requested an appointment for a sleep study. I’m sleeping on the couch because, it’s clear I’m interrupting his sleep.
Some nights I feel like my breathing is shallow. I wake up in a panic sometimes and my heart is pounding. 1 time I woke up and it felt like my whole body was vibrating, I jumped up and knocked over a lamp. I couldn't go back to sleep the rest of the night. It was scary. I had a sleep apnea test done a few years ago, it came back normal but I think it was wrong. Any advice would be helpful.
I'm dealing with sleep paralysis for years but just recently whenever I experience one, I can't breathe. Since my mind is awake, I tried to move any parts of my body and not panic. I like sleeping but because of these incidents, my anxiety got worsen.
The cause are unclean spirits who torment you at night. The only solution is asking Jesus for protecting you. I recommend you to watch videos of Isaiah Saldivar on RU-vid about it
My husband sleep fine he falls asleep quick but what worries me is he snores very loud at times and he stops breathing then he breathes again or gasp fo air...he wakes up confused &goes back to sleep..looks like its time to a visit to the doctor..
Still waitin for my results, but yes I probably have some form but also have restless arm syndrome, and constant sitting up and slewing. It was observed by my wife the duration was 1once every 5 minutes. Am so done and mentally depressed and just so tired. Hope I get the results soon.
As of now, my tests came back around 9 months ago. And right now it’s been a total switch to a new me, I went from 110 to 138 apneas and now am down to 2 a whole night. It’s a struggle to get used to it and the routine you have to have with it’s cleaning and stuff but it’s well worth the wait and patience and growth. I went from being the worst patient my doctor had ever seen to a complete switch to what I am now. Major improvement to every facet of my life. It’s a lifesaver pretty literally for me. It’s something I recommend to get urself tested for and the machine too
Fascinating the way people throw out oh just stop smoking just stop drinking as if for some people that is not a) a hugs struggle and challenge in itself 2) for many people a significant decline in quality of life 3) ignores the substittues which may weigh in if one health compromising habit is abandoned. People ignroe the obvious increase in sugar consumption which usually follows the abandonment of smoking and is one significant factor in the rise of obesity-people not smoking any more!
@MrYorickJenkins You’re absolutely right. Overcoming smoking or drinking is a significant challenge and can impact quality of life. Simply stopping isn't always straightforward, and many people experience changes in their habits, such as increased sugar consumption, which can affect health in other ways. It’s important to approach these changes with a balanced perspective, considering both the immediate struggles and long-term health impacts. Support and a holistic strategy can make a big difference in managing such transitions.
my dad is kind of obese and likes to drink wine or beer he said hes like forgetting how to breathe when falling asleep and its night here and he just told us this
I experiencing this problem since childhood..now I am 40 yrs old. think my muscle breathing and heart is too slow or too relax until to the point I lack of oxygen and suden rapid palpitation when I sleeping. When it strikes, I'm still capable to to think, aware to my surrounding like I can heard my ceiling fan spinning around. Sometimes it comes with terrible nightmares. Luckily Everytime I having this situation I can think on how to wake up. I feels like "oh this is it I'm gonna die now". Normally my wife will hit my shoulder to wake me up if she was by my side..I made some noise just attrack her attention to help me. The problem is when I was sleeping alone like I went for an outstation trip. I will screaming for help. Can you imagine that? So terrible. At some point I am afraid to sleep now.
I am sure now that I have sleep apnea. I wake up exactly after 2 to 3 hrs after I sleep because I could feel I couldn't breathe.. It's so scary.. I don't even know what to do. How to get help. Where do I even start.
Im starting to think all my mental fog, lost memories, mood swings are due to this. Im 37 just relazing this may be my problem and it could all change by getting better sleep. I rarely get a full nights worth of rest even if I "slept" 8 hours. All of these symptoms of sleep deprivation culimnated over the years is probably what has made me the person I am today. Iamgine actually getting proper sleep. Id prolly wouldnt even recognize the new better version of me. I NEED to fix this asap.
@akiman712 It sounds like you've had a powerful realization, and you're absolutely right-sleep is incredibly important for mental and physical health. Chronic sleep deprivation can have a significant impact on memory, mood, and cognitive function, and it’s common for these effects to build up over time, often without us fully realizing it. Prioritizing sleep could indeed make a big difference in how you feel day-to-day. Improving sleep hygiene-like maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, creating a relaxing bedtime routine, limiting screen time before bed, and making your sleep environment as comfortable as possible-can help you get the restful sleep you need. If you still struggle despite these efforts, it might be worth consulting with a healthcare provider or a sleep specialist to explore any underlying issues, such as sleep apnea or insomnia, that could be affecting your sleep quality. You're on the right track by recognizing the importance of sleep, and taking steps to improve it could lead to a significant positive change in your life. Here's to a healthier, more rested version of you!
It’s been scary af the past year or so. I not sure what’s going on. I went to a doctor a year ago and they suggested a sleep study but it’s $2k so I continued on. I use an inhaler but it doesn’t seem to relate to that. I do chew nicotine gum a good bit so that could relate to it as well. I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for breath, heart pounding, and sometimes it’s just a quick jolt and I’m fine, other times it feels like I’m about to die and it scares the hell out of me. It has affected my sleep a little a because I will be awaken and wait 30mins or more to go back to bed because how disruptive/disturbing it can be and that seems to make me feel less rested when I wake up. I know stress and anxiety has to relate to it
It sounds like you're experiencing significant disruptions to your sleep and health. Prioritizing a sleep study, managing stress/anxiety, and considering lifestyle factors like nicotine gum use could provide valuable insights and relief.
I have got nose surgery 1 years ago when i was facing breathlessness whenever i go to sleep and now after 1 year as soon as winter has started it is happening again the same thing with me
So idk if it’s sleep apnea but there’s been a couple of times where i suddenly wake up taking big gasps for air and heart rate is all the way up, it last for about 4-5 seconds and it’s a horrible feeling, sometimes I feel like I’m about to die while taking gasps, and the noise while taking the gasps is so unsettling that I have to mask it with the pillow on my face because I don’t want to startle my family.
Idk if it’s panic attacks or what. But ever sense I was little, I’d sometimes have a hard time sleeping at night because I feel like i can’t breath. I’d be trembling and crying so much. Sometimes I’d stop breathing in my sleep or my nose is clogged up and I’d wake up gasping for air. I’ve learned to cope with it over the years and I usually just stay awake until I feel relaxed and then go back to sleep like it never happened, it’s really tiring though and I don’t know what it is I’m writing this right now because I was sleeping normally and I felt pretty relaxed, I wasn’t fully asleep but even if I was was my body would wake me up because I stop breathing out of nowhere, and I always feel a bunch of chest pain. I get so afraid that I’m gonna die from lack of oxygen, or that I’m gonna die because I stop breathing and my organs might shut down. I think I’m just more paranoid, idk what’s wrong with me
This is what’s currently happening to me now. It’s been happening this past 3-4 weeks now, every now & then I would wake up from my sleep & start suffocating & feeling like I forgot how to breathe. Feels like it gets worse every time it happens. I had my inhaler near by but I’m not sure if that’s what helped me
Going through the same thing. All my blood tests come back normal. Idk why I can’t sleep or why I have panic attacks :( it’s ruining my life and sleep lol!
This is really scary because I’m currently going through outta nowhere it just start happening and I’m barely getting sleep I fall to sleep and the drop of a hat sometimes it feels like my throat is closing up on me and I literally almost fell asleep typing this it would be hard for me to go do a sleep study because I’m a single mom and I work a lot I hope this doesn’t last but it’s so frustrating 🙄🥺
Hey I'm having severe memory issues im only 30 like I can't remember what I did the day before and I have sleep apnea I'm getting my machine soon is it to late to save my memory am I doing this all for nothing it's mild sleep apnea
When I started to go to the gym regularly and hit the sauna it helped at first but i guess my body got used to it and it started again. Lost on what to do
I guess mine isn't as bad as I thought. I don't have headaches or major issues during the day besides sleepiness. I catch myself not getting proper air in the night and usually just breath really heavily a few times and it's like it catches back up, but that only happens from time to time. I have NEVER been able to properly breath through my nose. I suspect this plus the weight I've gained since being 40+ are the main culprits.
It's crucial to address the underlying causes of sleep disturbances and breathing issues, as these can impact overall health-consider consulting with a specialist to explore effective treatments and lifestyle changes ❤️
I’m 14 years old and when I stay up to late it’s when I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air or even sometimes choking I kinda feel scared because I have a fear of suffocating I also am very tired during the day around 9 am and especially 5pm
I don’t believe I’m fat or overweight, im active and athletic. I’m 230 and 6ft and 35. Friends describe my sleep as if I’m dead and not breathing for 1-3 mins and then I take a big breather. I know my nose gets really congested when I’m very tired. I’m honestly scared cuz at times I wake up with a headache and other times, I’m constantly waking up middle of the night. My insurance said they can’t provide me the oxygen tank and sleeping gear because I’m out of their healthcare zone. I’m so confused why they won’t provide me the medical care I need.
I’ve had multiple people on over 10+ occasions tell me they’ve woken up or heard me gasping for air in my sleep which has worried me. I’ve also been waking up with headaches, sore throat, been sluggish and tired no matter how much I sleep. And some nights I wake up gasping for air completely alert and my heart pounding out of my chest. Should I get checked out or am I overreacting?
It's essential to take those symptoms seriously, as they could be indicative of sleep apnea. Gasping for air, morning headaches, sore throat, and persistent fatigue are common signs of sleep apnea. The episodes where you wake up gasping for air and with a racing heart are particularly concerning. It's not an overreaction to seek medical advice in this situation. I recommend consulting with a healthcare professional or a sleep specialist who can evaluate your symptoms and recommend appropriate testing or treatment to ensure your well-being and quality of sleep. Sleep apnea can have significant health consequences if left untreated, so it's crucial to address these concerns.
Im just 32years old. I drink alcohol and take tobacco also. When i breath any time I'm feeling deficult. What reason and tratment. Please sugest to me.🎉

My breathing stopped while sleeping for only one night .and i can still control my breathing when i realise my breathing stopped. And i was feeling fine when i woke up . I m not sure if it's sleep apnea bcz my nose was also blocked bcz of low temperature .
I have severe sleep aponea 60+ episode per hour, I personally think I developed it about 1 year after a fall from a ladder landing on feet but hurt my back... Keep reading things that possibly connected with lesions in the spine and or arthritic changes. Would I be right in assuming this....?
@dantandem It's possible that a severe fall leading to spinal injury or arthritic changes could contribute to sleep apnea, especially if there are lesions or issues affecting the nerves or muscles involved in breathing. While sleep apnea is more commonly associated with factors like obesity, airway obstruction, or neurological conditions, spinal issues could potentially play a role. It’s important to consult with both a sleep specialist and a spine expert to explore this connection further and determine the best course of treatment for your sleep apnea.
I am suffering quite badly with apnea at the moment, but think it is down to a pure lack of decent oxygen in the atmosphere. There is so much carbon dioxide around at the moment and car fumes etc, that I don't seem to be able to get that oxygen fix like I used to.
I have felt like I was floating or like i left my body! Mostly, I stop breathing! I do have allergic rhinitis and i snore like a bear…or so I was told!
Improvements in sleep quality, duration, and daytime alertness are key indicators that your strategies are positively impacting your health. Keep monitoring these to gauge progress. ❤️
Sleep apnea, characterized by breathing interruptions during sleep, can indirectly contribute to muscle and joint pain through symptoms like fatigue, often leading to a sedentary lifestyle. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy, the standard treatment, has been linked to improved overall well-being and reduced fatigue. Addressing sleep apnea with CPAP may, for some individuals, result in better sleep quality and potentially alleviate associated musculoskeletal discomfort. However, the impact on muscle and joint pain varies among individuals, and not everyone may experience direct relief. Surgical interventions are considered when CPAP is ineffective, but their influence on musculoskeletal symptoms is variable. Individual responses are influenced by diverse factors, emphasizing the importance of consulting healthcare professionals for personalized advice and management.
I don’t get “sleep apnea”, i get it while I’m awake/carrying on with my day and I just stop breathing and I’m searching for it everywhere, but i can’t find it…
Everytime you have an apnea, your system doesn't get oxygen for a couple of seconds. Imagine an engine doesn't get lubricated for couple of seconds. Do this for several years and you will understand why it does matter.
You missed my point. My blood 02 level stays good all night no matter the apnea reading. Blood 02 consistency will mean no harm to any of my systems.@@WatchfulListener
Does anyone have the problem that the CPAP and/or mouth appliances have reduced their sleep stoppages to almost nothing, but they are still waking up with their head filled with sand/snow/cotton? If this simply because it takes a while for the brain to adjust to the machine so you wake up with a clear head? Because the machine has its own side effects? Or because of an undiagnosed brain condition in addition to the sleep apnea?
I never used the CPAP machine but I would get brain fog every day and it wouldn't go away until late afternoon sometimes later. My problem was from eating food with gluten iin it and eating before bed. I dont eat 4-5 hours before I go to sleep anymore cut way back on gluten and I hardly ever get brain fog anymore.
For the past week or two I can’t fall asleep. My wife says I don’t snore. I’m almost about to fall asleep then all of a sudden it feels like my heart stops and I pop up gasping for air. Then I go through that same cycle all night. It gives me anxiety. The first few days I would take something for anxiety to fall asleep but now it’s not even working. I used to wake up to pee 2-3 times at night but I would go right back to sleep. Now I can’t fall asleep at all. Once i finally do fall asleep I’m fine but I’m only getting 2-3 hours of sleep at best on a good night.
