That the Queen rewarded Pipes' years of service with HIS choice of Lament shows how much she respected the man. And wasn't it the perfect lament at the end of the funeral? Well done Ma'am you did us proud. Duty done. Rest in peace.

Pipe Major Paul Burns who played at The Queen’s funeral have only been The Sovereign’s Piper since 2021 so it was probably not his choice… But ofcourse earlier made choices was to be respected and honoured by anyone who happened to have the job when she died
@1chish

@@rickardnyberg4899 The passage shown in the video was clearly from a very earlier time than 2021 by which time the Queen was becoming very frail and poorly and arrangements had long been made. So I suspect Pipes in the video was Scott Methven, who served as the Queen's piper between 2015 and 2019

Is being that my family hails from scottish heritage, I am sure you know my opinion of the british colonists... But queen elizabeth the second, She did something different with her reign entirely. I mean obviously I never knew the woman, But she had a kindness about her, She had a care for those under her monarchy symbolic, though it was at that point. She was unique in a type of job where you were not allowed to be and she did it in a flawless way while maintaining that royal stability. There will never be another like her, Not in my lifetime at least and Lord willing. I have quite a few years left to live. God bless you dear queen and god speed.

@@1chishStill pretty recent. I’m thinking they probably made her funeral arrangements during her golden jubilee year in 2012. I’m sure there was a sketch for operation London bridge as soon as she became queen at 25 and they kept Refining it through the years. Pipers lament maybe the last element as it’s the last piece of the service.

How good of an actress do you have to be just to convey a wide array of emotions without uttering a single word nor sound, with only expressions on a single, uncut shot, that gets progressively closer to her face, crying on cue and letting us read everything on her face alone?
