This tutorial has been sponsored by IGK Hair. Today I'm going to show you how to achieve this pretty 'Sleep-in Ponytail Beachy Wave' hair tutorial and how to maintain the style for up to 3 days using some of my favourite products!
This can be a completely heatless hairstyle, simply forgo the hairdryer and allow your hair to dry naturally until it's 10% damp.
* For thicker hair - you can create two braids at the top of your head instead of one. This will help to create more waves.

I also have fine hair and I've experimented with so many different braids over the years to get waves but man, if only I knew I needed just one braid. Also, do you use any products when you braid your hair or is it just slightly wet?

Short hairs even better for waves! Its lighter and doesn't fall out as fast. Just french or dutch braid it

Try sleeping with your hair in a loose bun (with a scrunchie elastic instead of tight band) and getting a silky pillow case! The bun will keep it from getting knotted as easily without making your hair too flat, and the silky surface of the pillowcase will prevent your hair from breaking

micha mi Try a Setting Spray on your hair before you braid it. There’s a product called Pli by L’Oréal that you spritz onto damp hair and then you braid it or use curlers, and it’ll set the style. Here’s a link: rstyle.me/~cz-aO2SU

same so what i do is after i wet my hair completely i put in french or dutch braids for two nights and one day. after the last night i take my hair out of braids. then my hair is somewhat curly for a day at least.

you should try marrakesh oil! Personally I have thick hair, but I've read lots of reviews from people whose hair was thinning and this product helped them grow new, healthy hair :) plus it smells amazing

My hair is really thin too so I use a volumizing shampoo and I always get so many compliments about how thick my hair looks (It's really thin but the shampoo leaves my hair with volume for days rather than just the day I wash it!) If you’re able to go several days without washing your hair one time (like by covering it or just not caring what people think haha) it will not get greasy as fast after that. My hair takes several days to look greasy now but when I washed it every day it would look greasy if I missed one day

You can always try double Dutch braids or braid every strand of hair, that's what I did when I had short hair, now it's medium length

This is the best sleep in braid tutorial I’ve ever used, sometimes my hair is dry so I just spray it all over with some leave in and wait 10 minutes and put it in the same braid it works just as well if you don’t have freshly showered hair :)

Doing this style is a great way to make your hair look thicker! Straight hair will always enhance fine hair, if you curl it or add a wave and some texturing volume spray like Beach Club it’ll appear thicker!

Okay, in that case, take an old t-shirt and cut it to create a long strip, you can use this to wrap around the top of your ponytail before you start braiding, and you can use this as 1 of your 3 strands - so you're actually only parting your own hair into 2 strands (thus making each section thicker). Create a three strand braid as I have done here but incorporate the strip of t-shirt as your 3rd strand. This will allow you to still create waves but with thicker sections, so when you take it out your waves won't be half as tight or poodle-like, haha... works so well for fine hair.

i have my school pictures tomorrow and i’m trying this for the first time! wish me luck! i’ll keep you updated! okay so i (usted to) have really pretty natural curls, but because of bleaching my hair, it’s not as pretty, and sometimes looks supper brassy. tbh i didn’t think this was going to look good/ work on my thick hair, but when i woke up, it looked super pretty, and I put some oil over it, and it made my hair look really healthy. Sometimes I would do my hair in French braids, and it would come out wavy, but I like this way a lot better, because it’s easier and the curls are prettier. totally recommend!!😁 my pictures look really good!! thank you xx 😁❤️

Have you tried sock buns? They were a trend years ago and my mom used to use them on me when I was a kid. Perfect ballerina bun, and if you sleep in it you get really nice waves.

Braiding only causes waves anyway. Add a super hold gel “while” your braiding. Slap perm curl rollers on the ends, let dry and voila. Waves from roots to tips. It’ll likely dry the heck out of your hair.

LOVE IT! So many tutorial s for curly hair out there these days but hardly any on wavy hair like this! I really feel left out with the curly hair method as I feel like it doesn't work with hair that literally can't decide wether to be straight or wavy and then ending up just a frizzy mess. Haha, yeah I’ve done that before, that’s how I know to make it about 80%-90% dry before braiding. Glad you found it worked for you! It’s such an easy look to just get up and go!

I’m so excited I found this video. I don’t like going to bed with my hair in a bun. It either hurts or falls out. This is perfect. It’s actually really comfortable to sleep with!! I don’t have to worry about my face moisturizer getting my hair greasy AND I’ll have a natural wave in the A.M. I’m definitely going to start doing this every night on the days I wash my hair!

You can try two braids! Works a treat for really thick hair. Also, you can try a product by L’Oréal Pro called Pli, it’s a setting lotion for your hair. You apply it to damp hair and then you set it by curling or straightening (or, in this case, add a little heat from the hairdryer once you’ve braided it) and it’ll prevent your hair from dropping the shape you’re trying to achieve! It’s made for people, like yourself, who’s hair refuses to hold curls/waves.

I tried this and it turned me into a lion when I took it out lol. I’m going to try to tame it for today and keep trying new methods to get the waves without the heat! omg ive been doing this but braided side to side & putting in products while my hairs wet. i will have to try braiding in that direction next time. go in with dry shampoo as well for the roots. THE ending up do is the BEST! love love your such a doll.

Same i do have hair that is pretty much long to where my legs start after my butt. But i never use any unnecessary products on my hair (other than castor and coconut oil before wash shampoo conditioner and once in a week rice water treatment)then again i rarely use heat styling and mostly air dry my hair. No setting spray no creams no serums nothing sorta chemical. My hair is perfectly fine and doing these hairstyles stays too even tho they're a little thick.

@@harryjamespotter4645 I don't use conditioner at all. After I wash my hair, I put macadamia oil, baobab oil and almond oil on the lengths and ends. I can't dry my hair naturally, it would go mouldy before it dries.

I do this all the time with absolutely no product. I just do it when my hair is still slightly damp from the shower. I dont know if because it dries whilst sleeping in the braid... my hair ends up just like this but no gels or sprays or anything. (My hair is stick-straight for reference.) Save ya dahlahs 💸

Anyone can use purple toning products to help with brassiness. It's basically just purple hair color, diluted with other products. I've used them on my hair when it was light brown just to help make it a pretty, ashier tone.

Hi, I’m a professional cosmetologists and you can use toning products for a lot of hair colors not just blonde. But if you do have blonde hair and you prefer it to be a cool tone (more blue than yellow) then I suggest using a purple shampoo and conditioner, you can pick up a variation from almost any beauty supply store that is open to the public.
