Hi again Drex! There are some exciting ST tracks coming in the new year too, I can’t wait to get working on them! Thank you for your continued support, it means a lot! I hope you have a great Christmas! 🖤
Thank you for listening Daamza! I’m sure they will have already spoken about doing some gigs with an orchestra at this point… only time will tell though! 🖤
Thanks for the suggestions Telekinetic, I’ve not actually heard of Celldweller but that one of the things I really enjoy about this - I’m introduced to so many new bands during this process!
@@jamieturton666Oh that song always gave me a bit of a middle easter vibe in the RnB section. Whatever you do it'll be a banger. Keep up the great work my guy!!!
Michael Kamen had a deep love of hard rock/heavy metal music. He said it was the one form of modern music that most closely related to classical music. A very high compliment from the man who literally wrote the book. Songs like this illustrate that point quite nicely. 👍
Michael Kamen is a legend and was absolutely correct in his statement. I started with classical music at a young age and moved to rock and metal as it seemed like the most natural progression… being at a point where I can enjoy melding the two brings me a lot of joy. Thank you for listening and thank you for your comment! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! 🖤
I adore Sleep Token and these are just fucking incredible, honestly. Top tier work. I'd be intrigued to hear what you could do with another sleepy band, if you will, that band being While She Sleeps. Know Your Worth or Nervous maybe, In Another Now (my personal favourite). There's some incredible music in their discography that I think could be really interesting. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing what you do next!
I’m glad you’re enjoying these works! 🖤 I know of While She Sleeps but I’ve not had the time to delve into their music so I think I will now based on your suggestion. I’ll put one of them on the list for you, possibly two if I can’t make up my mind on one 😅
This is one of my favorite ST songs! Wonderful job adding the orchestra to it. Sounds amazing! I hope you will add some Bad Omens songs to your list. New subscriber!
Hey Peaches! I’m glad you enjoyed the orchestral additions! Thank you for the sub too - welcome to the channel! 🖤 ..I may have already done a Bad Omens track ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-77tA3Nql3Qw.htmlsi=nJe0l2El-i2BhfIm let me know what you think as there may be more in the future! 🖤
This has to be the best ST song for an orchestra rendition, the atmospheric elements of the original song mixed with additional stringed instruments give it so much more life!
Hi FlashReview! I know these are all suggested tracks but honestly I have so much fun doing these 🙂 you’re right though - this one does offer a unique atmosphere and the orchestra serves the music in a nice cohesive manor! Thanks for listening! 🖤
Hi Vlgr! I put the track into a DAW and use a mixture of audio libraries from Spitfire Audio for the strings, brass, woodwind, percussion and choirs to build the orchestra behind the track. It can be time consuming but I love working on them!
I had Michael Kamen in my mind when my wife recommended to me to listen to these. I can’t remember the exact quote from Michael… his point was about how tricky it is to arrange instruments around the music (in the metal context). Very tasteful! Sounds incredible, the mix still breaths!
Hi Neil! Michael is absolutely correct in saying that 😅 heavier music tends to have a lot less spare eq space to insert additional instruments for clarity within a mix. My mixes still need work but I’m learning slowly! I’m glad you enjoyed this one and I really appreciate the comment!
Hello again MrBrightside! I’m glad you enjoy the ST tracks - I have a lot of fun creating them and there are plenty more on the list to come too! I hope you have an amazing Christmas! I’ve not forgotten about Just Pretend, it’s on the list already 🙂 next year is going to be a killer year for music!
You killed it man! And a day early! Hell of a Christmas gift. I’ve been wondering what software you use to make these? Edit: May I also add Terminal by Silent Planet to the request list :)
Yeah didn’t want to drop on Christmas Eve and next weeks track is scheduled for Saturday too! I’ve added your request to the list - I really need to get working on Where The Dragons Dwell for you! I use cubase as the DAW and a mixture of Spitfire Audio libraries mainly for the strings, brass, woodwind, percussion and voices. There are some other libraries sprinkled in for specific textures if needed but mainly it’s Spitfire libraries, they are just very versatile. I will however be changing all of these in the new year to the BBC Symphonic Orchestral libraries as they are currently the industry standard and are honestly just on another level! I hope you and your family have the most wonderful Christmas my dude 🖤
@@jamieturton666 yooo I’m looking forward to it! And awesome info. I’ve been kinda curious about getting into writing music but I gotta learn how to first lmao
It’s the kind of thing you just have to throw yourself into and learn as you go - you’re already musically minded so that will help a lot in the early stages but just jump in and get to know the programs and their nuances as that is half the battle to begin with! I’m sure you’ll be fine though!
Hey man, I’m in Cyprus at the moment but we’ll have to meet up in the new year - feels like I’ve not seen you in forever! I hope you have a good Christmas with your family brother!
Great work on these; what are your goto libraries? It's always cool to learn about what people like, especially when they do more unique things, like make it a mission to do arrangements for metal tunes, you've built a pretty great catalog!
Hi NoNoNoNo! 😅 love the name! My go-to libraries for these are the Spitfire Symphonic strings, brass and woodwind. I do have the BBC Symphonic Orchestra libraries too but I’m still playing around with those to get an optimal mix for a band setting. I’m also using various Hans Zimmer percussion libraries with some seperate obscure patches like a harp guitar and glass instruments for texture. Expect more to be added to this body of works too 🙂 thank you for your comment and than you for listening! 🖤
@@jamieturton666 I find my screen name works great for online chats :P Spitfire's SO range is great, I know Lorne Balfe uses it quite a bit for his sketches, or at least used to. Personally, I love that they stuck with Kontakt for it as well rather than trying to update it to their play engine. BBCSO SOUNDS phenomenal, but with such poor optimization, it's really not useable to me, and I have a pretty robust setup. Anyways, great work! Look forward to hearing more.
Yeah SO is just so versatile and it works well out of the box. It’s quite well optimised with Kontact too so loading times are relatively short. I love the BBCSO libraries but you’re right - the optimisation needs looking at. There is a quick fix though; in the top right of the articulations panel should be a clickable link that will take you to a list of the active articulations for the particular instrument you’re using, you can uncheck all the articulations you may not be using in that particular session so when it loads next time it cuts the load time down a lot. When you load an instrument it will load every articulation and that’s the main part of the problem. If you do find that you need one of those unchecked articulations later in the session you can always go and check them and add them back in. It’s a much more efficient way around its shortcomings! I hope this helps!
Hi again Evaj! Sleep Token use dynamics well and it lends itself to a natural and more powerful integration of orchestral arrangements, it’s almost like it was made to have orchestration. Thank you for your support and I hope you have an amazing Christmas 🖤
I’ve already done quite a few of them that are on my channel and there are plenty more of them on the list - the new years song list is absolutely killer! 🖤
I got the notification and thought it was Rain 😅 You are keeping me on tenterhooks here Jamie, I can't cope lol. Excellent nonetheless! Another beauty ❤ Well done!
Hi again Angela! Rain will be making it’s appearance in the new year, the song list for next year is absolutely killer and I can’t wait to start working on it! Thank you for your unwavering support 🖤 I hope you have the best Christmas!
You’ll be pleased to know that The Offering is on the list for January so not long to wait! Thank you for listening, I’m glad you enjoy the additions! 🖤
Hi again Manpons! Breaking Benjamin is a great suggestion! I’ll have to have a review and see what would work well with orchestra! I really appreciate your support and I hope you have an amazing Christmas 🖤
Have to admit I like this one much much better than Ascencionisn. What I'd give for Sleep Token to play with an orchestra. Or just to see them live tbh. Superb work
