SLEEP TOKEN | 'Granite' and 'Aqua Regia' | REACTION/REVIEW 

I swear if these guys don't blow up more this year I'll have no hope left in modern music

I'm so ready for these guys to take off. Sexy, sultry, visceral, heavy, and groovy. Every track so far has been a completely unique experience. Just incredible how they've evolved.

Sleep Token is the Perfect blend of R&B and Metal. This band is so unique and just getting better.

Those jazz chords on Aqua Regia are so uplifting I'm just totally mesmerized

Sleep Token: Proving that true musicians cross genres.

They took all my R&B and pop guilty pleasures and added some dissonance and low guitars just to make sure I didn’t forget where I came from. I get some of the same vibe from The Weeknd. I know that seems like a reach, but there is that same sexy, atmospheric and dark vibe.

The drum fills in the last part of Granite are so.damn.good. Also I haven’t listened to these back to back yet and Granite flows into Aqua so well! Even tho Aqua is a different vibe it felt so perfect after Granite. This band is incredible. I’m so excited to have this whole album in my ears.

After 4 song drops now, this album feels like what I want to call "black silk". The songs have been heavy, but so smooth and jazzy. I love that they're still doing whatever they feel like doing. The year started off with new Darko, now we get new Sleep Token and I'm hoping this year we also get new Loathe and more Invent Animate as well.

Can we just crown them AOTY for 2023 and call it a day? Granite is my favorite of the four, cannot stop listening to it.

I was almost worried they were going to do a heavy album but I'm super thrilled this is more like Sundowning where you can have a couple of tracks per mood. Love the piano in Aqua Regia.

I love The Summoning and objectively, I think it's the best song they've ever done...but Aqua Regia man. This one hits me in all the right places. That piano section (and the piano throughout) is just chef's kiss. I wish this song was 10 minutes long

I have been waiting on this reaction/review since last night lol, spot on. I feel like Sleep Token is like tool in regards that anyone one can get into there music, take that plunge and have there mind blown by the range of there songs. ST is not afraid to do things that most other bands wont venture into, I don't think they try to make songs to appease everyone one, like you said not every one is gonna like there style, but that is ok. I do kind of feel like Aqua Regia is like a Vessel showcase, Lots of his vocal range and his piano playing. Just one more reason I was glad to discover this band so long ago. I can't really say which is my favorite, never been good at that more so like its how I'm feeling at the moment as to what i want to listen to. They are all on repeat for me or rather shuffle lol.

I didn't think anything could top the Summoning for me, but Aqua Regia is my favorite of the four. 1. Aqua Regia 2. The Summoning 3. Granite 4. Chokehold All songs are 9+/10 for me but that's my ranking They're constantly outdoing themselves and everyone else with these singles. This is gonna be an AOTY for a lot of people, I can feel it!

I love these two songs so much! I've described Sleep Token to people that haven't heard them as if The Weekend decided to go heavy.

The 4 new songs are amazing!!! Chokehold had me in a chokehold since it came out, as did the Summoning, particularly the break and end section! And now I am full in love with Aqua Regia, what a killer song! Granite is dope af too, but if I had to pick a least fav it would have to be that one. All of them are top notch honestly, now I wonder if the rest of the album will suck haha. How could there be MORE amazing songs, like really.

Loved your reaction and thoughts as always! These two new tracks are both amazing and I love them both, but I think I like Aqua Regia just a bit more! The flow and vocal runs Vessel does are immaculate, and the piano is gorgeous, instantly stuck out to me! And the lyrics I think might be some of their best! Also, you're not alone in mispronouncing Aqua Regia! I thought it was how you pronounced it too lol, I also didn't even know what it was before this. And I get your comparison to the release of Sundowning! I kinda hope these are the last singles we get and they don't go FULL Sundowning route, mainly just because I like being able to sit down with an album and listen to the majority of the tracks for the first time, but regardless I'm just thankful for new music and will be please either way! Favorite is The Summoning so far. It's on another level. Least favorite? Now that's a difficult question to answer. I suppose Granite just cause Aqua Regia is just so pretty. But they're all so good! Truly hope the quality remains this high throughout.

The Summoning is a solid song, even though I am not a fan of the transition near the end of the track. Chokehold is ok. Aqua Regia and Granite? Nah.
