I chose this as it shows a little bit of everything. You do need check out some of the others for sure! You definitely need to listen to lyrics too as they really do hit deep.
I can see why one would want to trim the song down to its main parts however the magic of this record lies within its atmospheric parts, Sleep Token is more of a AAA blockbuster type of experience rather than "easy music to listen to", even though they definitely have something for everyone. the band consists of 4 touring members + 3 background female vocalists however the studio albums themselves are entirely done by essentially 3 people, the main singer (he plays the guitars, keyboard, bass, composes/writes, sings, produces a bit does the majority of the artistic side of things), the drummer who writes his parts of course and the album producer the band has a very cultish vibe as their "thing" is that they do "worship" an ancient deity named Sleep, who appeared in the main singers dream one night and since then the band writes music as a token for said deity, hence their name "Sleep Token" Edit: I forgot to mention that the drummer II has so had an AMAZING hour-long play through/interview of some of their biggest songs uploaded on the Drumeo channel, as well as 2 or 3 other uploads on the sleep token channel if you're interested in that. He is truly phenomenal and fascinating to watch! essentially the songs focus on toxic relationships, abuse, mental health etc but can be framed as worshipping sleep the band is entirely anonymous and performs with masks only, they don't or barely talk on stage and the singer goes by the name of Vessel, as he is seen as a vessel for sleep. The other members are simply II, III and IV...yep Sonically the band is known for very atmospheric builds, huge epic choruses, lots of RnB/Pop influence, jazz, funk, prog metal, alternative, acoustic stuff too they kinda do it all and Vessel has the talent to somehow make these different genres blend well while maintaining a unique sound as a band...idk he is truly gifted. they do have some heavy songs or at least heavy parts within some songs, but they aren't your typical metal band for sure the heavier stuff would be something like Gods, Vore, The Summoning, Hypnosis, Ascensionism (partially), The Offering (partially), Higher (partially), maybe Chokehold and High Water? they have some GREAT RnB and pop stuff that could easily top the charts as well like Granite, Sugar, Aqua Regia, Rain, The Apparition, Atlantic, The Love You Want, Fall For Me, Descending, Like That they got Ballads as well and their first two EPs were very dark, spooky, artsy and atmospheric AF
