Great quality. Back in the summer of '72, I was taken into hospital to have my appendix removed. Back on the ward, when I came round from the Op late evening, the window next to my bed was open and some A/c units that were located just outside, were all working as it was a very warm night. They sounded like this baby, and it is still one of the most relaxing sounds in the modern world. Also, love the leaves blowing in its 'draught'. Nice one Tex!
I used to like to do the same thing, sit by an outdoor A/C unit and feel the warm air, as well as the noise, when I go to bed at night, I like to have something that makes a gentle soothing hum to put me to sleep :)
That's so wild! I thought I was the only one. LOL! We got our first central unit when I was about 12 or 13. I would just disappear and Mother would find me outside asleep next to the AC unit. "GET AWAY FROM THERE! You are gonna get legionnaires disease!" I had my tonsils out when I was 30 which was a horrible nightmare. I went back home to stay while I recovered. Again, I would go sit out there. The warm air felt good on the back of my neck and would help soothe some of the pain and the sound would lull me to sleep.

@5random1 Aahahahaaa!! The crazy thing is I have owned the house for ten years. That AC is from the 60's and I thought I would have to replace it the first year here. But it just keeps going. Does have a nice little rumble to it tho. Thanks for stopping by!!
My family have no respect when I'm trying to sleep. They're unbelievably loud. Plus I have a Degu, who loves to run on his wheel, or chew on his cage all night long. I usually have to sleep with my earphones in every night. The pain of doing so, is worth it because of the great sleep I have listening to vacuums/hair dryers/running showers... This is by far my favourite. I've stuck it on my phone and its number one for me to listen to whilst drifting off to sleep. Thank you for this
The storm threatens to break, but I am not afraid. I have my leaves and the giant roaring sentinel. Thunder sounds on the other end of town, advertising a cloud burst. Snuggling down, the sentinel's roar is warm on my skin. I am not afraid of the rain thanks to the Magic Chef, the god of the backyard.
Holy dicks this is good... Oh god I've felt like a freak all my life When I was young I used to stand by these kind of machines and just get lost into the sound... The sound that disturbed everyone else.
This is my favorite white noise video! I've been listening to it to fall asleep the past 3 or 4 nights. And I usually find birds chirping while Im trying to sleep to be quite annoying (and one of the reasons I need white noise to block them out!), but for some reason they added to the relaxation in this video. The past 2 times though, I fell asleep before I got to hear any >.
another comment I'd make on this vid - what also makes this one great is that listening to it causes me to have goosebumps, which is a sure sign it's hitting the spot. Just great.

I like the sounds of nature too, but come on, what is more pleasant than industrial ambience? doesn't sound to enticing.. but it reminds me of when I was a child. I had to go to bed early alot because my parents thought I needed lots of sleep to grow, so in the time I was awake, I listened to the humidifiers and air conditioners alike and they're simple unchanging tones became magic to me. So mysteriously comforting and blocking out all outside intrusions whatsoever...^ ^
That seriously is the best sounding "fan" video on RU-vid. Need to edit the birds out of it. You get almost asleep and it makes you jump out of your skin!
First of all, I LOVE this video. I'm a huge pink noise fan (no pun intended) and I search out sources like this constantly to help me relax and/or meditate. Your AC unit sounds especially nice to my ears. I do have a further request, however: if you haven't posted one already, how about the sound from the other end, ie the air coming out of the registers inside the house? Sort of a mellower, whooshier sound. Yeah. Thanks, and great job!
I can sleep to this just fine. The constant white noise is calming. I listen to it on low volume. It drowns out the sound of my ungrateful, Bosnian immigrant neighbors.
I really love this sound,but does anyone remember the old Belt-Driven; Window-Mounted Exhaust Fans that folks used back when I was a boy & Air Conditioning was less common? They'd a Distinctive & Very Robust "Galloping Sound"..."Gall-LUMP!!! Gall-LUMP!!! Gall-LUMP!!!" One Dude had a huge Fan with a five or six foot blade in his Basement. It was relatively quiet, but you could feel the huge air movement. I'd have loved sitting by it, but it only ran briefly, when showing off his home. RVM45
seriously, cant thank you enough!!!! used to sleep with a full AC unit on before bed, or a mini fridge. basically anything that made this noise! and now, i've developed tinnitus. not good. this video is perfect, allows me to sleep peacefully and allows my ears to recover during the night after it has turned off.
I love it, the grandbaby was out in a few minutes of listening to it.... I now use t to drown out the neighbors gheto friend playing DJ in the parking lot. The most disrespectful, flou mouthed crap ever. This is good.........................d c

No you are not! I have to carry a fan with me if I go on vacation or to a conference. Mine started because my Dad worked 3rd shift and would wake us all up slamming and banging things and turning every light in the house on. Mother put a fan in my bedroom to drown out his noise.

Such a relaxing video.... until one of the bird chirps, scares the shit out of me! It's okay, I actually find it amusing. lol The birds add to the soothing hum of the AC unit.
