I love how these "duck and cover" films show kids outside surviving a nuclear blast. I guess showing how they would really be vaporized in the first three tenths of a second would be a morale killer.

These are so cool. I find it extremely fascinating that we can look into past presentations of the future and past media. It's like time travel! Past corporations seemed much more human back than and it's kinda sad that corporations now (for the most part) minimize risk and limit expression!

Or maybe it's having to do with the decline of cable TV, ads are now so commonplace and short that they cannot be very expressive. Or maybe because in modern-day the future is generally not explored very much, other than dystopia of course. What am I saying idk

This shouldn't be entertaining in the least to me, having grown up with so many of these drabbly-produced films with their presumption that audiences were all on a 2nd grade level of understanding of the world,. Virtually all of those Encyclopedia Britannica (sp?) films were awful, but good excuses to doze off in class (we learned a lot more about radioactivity and what to do from Hollywood movies at the time, like PANIC IN YEAR ZERO!) Yet, somehow, some of this IS appropriately drab background sounds for simple late night tasks. Ugh..but, er, thanks.
