Summer is finally here in Washington, and even though the mosquitos are relentless, it's a beautiful time out in the Cascades. Sleeping at a fire lookout should definitely be on everyone's bucket list. These stories cabins have stood the test of time in some of the most remote places this state has the offer. Unreal views all around.
Thanks for watching.

We’ve been hiking to the Park Butte lookout since the 1970’s One of our favorite places. Where heaven touches earth.

Park Butte has got to be one of the most beautiful corners of the lower 48. I filmed a shoulder season video there a few years back. The first time we went we trudged through deep snow in white out conditions in November. We were able to stay the night, and awoke to bluebird skies. It was quite the experience for a Wisconsin boy.

Great video. How did you get the permit to fly in the park?

It’s just illegal, but not everyone cares about the law

Hey Brendan, I agree - a great vid. Re: your question: this trail and lookout are situated in the national forest and recreation area respectively. Put another way, this lookout is neither in a national park nor a wilderness area. The national park boundary is over 10 miles to the east of here.
