The hospital shootout mission is a reference to a major scene in the John Woo film 'Hard-Boiled' starring Chow Yun Fat. The hospital in the game is almost identical to the one in the film.
In one mission you meet an African American record mogul named King and have to show him around the city. I believe that he may be a reference to a Character in the game Saints Row named Benjamin King who is the leader of the Vice Kings. He is also African American, a record mogul, good in a fight, and wears yellow.
There was another reference. When you are buying things for your apartment and you're buying a carpet and table package, it says that it "really ties the room together". A reference to The Big Lebowski.
To tell you the truth, I find the taxi Easter egg funny. I even tried it myself and I cannot stop laughing at how the NPCs would run away screaming. It reminds me of Postal 2!
This game is a joy to play, very rich content and mechanics. And a rare open world happening in asian grounds (I just remember Yakuza games and the future Test Drive Unlimited). It's not a 10/10 tho due the bad driving physics (specially if you're trying to drift). It's possible, but feels unnatural. Also, that huge deadzone in the middle of the analog is a pain to handle with. Still it's a great game and I hope it come back some day, specially now that old games from this sector of Square Enix has been sold, and their main franchises with it (Tomb Raider, Deus EX...).
Totally agree. Don't know why they made the driving system so unnatural, let alone riding a motorbike (that's like the worst in gaming history, haha). Pity. But besides this, the game is truly enjoyable. Super long, loved the main character, as well as his best friend and some other people. The AI is also very funny, especially when they are cursing at you due to hitting their vehicle, haha. Don't understand their language, but it is still funny. I have the DE on Steam, so happy for it. My, maybe naïve, wish is that there will be a sequel to this game. To be honest, to this day I still do not understand the ending. Happy there are others with the same opinion :)
There's an Easter Egg noone mentions. United Front Built the Peak Tramway, complete with working trams, tunnels and (uncompleted and blocked off) stations. You can explore it if you have Cheat Engine and the levitation/ghost cheat to get you over the wire fence. I think it was meant to be in the game at one point, because an inaccessible gravel access road has road signs for the 'Peak Tramway'.
If you search Sleeping Dogs Victoria Peak tunnels or train, there's videos of people exploring the tracks and train tunnels. Nothing in there, but it's solid ground and you can tell you were, at some point, meant to be in there. As in, the developers must have decided against it. A couple people got in without CE.
That blood ring is the place where u fight in Zodiac Championship. Its a Fighting competition, its a very interesting event, everyone should visit it, and BTW its doesn't need any DLC, it is open after the mison " The Election (The Last mission) "
3:32 thats the zodiac island If your game is up to date there should be a side mission involving that island. And in that mission there is a foght sequence in that blood arena you are talking about.

The air conditioning unit and sound system I've never been able to find those in the night market do I have to be at a certain chapter in order to buy those or can I get that from the start as soon as I can explore

Manhattan Melee (Rumble in the Bronx): beat the Central fight club. [Mysterious Things] Do I look like a cab driver?: Steal a Taxi, and watch what happens when you park close to a sidewalk. Sea Monster of Hong Kong: go to the Kennedy Town fight club, and go towards the ocean. The water will ripple, and you will sometimes hear strange noises. Bloody Fighting Arenas: The Arenas are used for missions in the Zodiac Island DLC.
I love this game. Just switched from fornite as I remembered I had this game installed. I play fortnite like 2 a week only now lol. This is my main game.
Aaron Rainge I completed the Year of the Snake DLC Because I have Sleeping Dogs Definive Edition and its on my map. I think when you complete the 3rd to last level it appears on your map..
Funny that you mention the island has eastereggs. Because it's the island of the dlc. The whole easteregg is the dlc, that is based on the dead or alive 2006 movie.
Theres actually one more thing. In North Point, a homeless person is able to steal a purse from an npc who is carrying one, if u return the purse back to the npc, she rewards u with money

This game never bored.. Like me" I'm always finish this game and replay.. I don't have idea, why they are'nt making sleeping dog 2 ??.. We need game like this.. (Real action, easy driving, use skill when fighting) I love this game and I have all Dlc 😁
kacpi26 thinks that Zodiac island is a secret location XD its a mission dude. There is an story behind the temple and you actually have to fight in the "secret arenas" (according to you).
How to remake Sleeping Dogs . Add new improved graphics. . More interior. . More side missions. . More side activities . More combat variations . More freedom like buying properties. . More activities for endgame. Even for a ps3 era game this is very impressive
Just got done with the magazine island mission buried alive and a glitch happened as to where one of the boats flung across the ocean,I couldn’t stop laughing,it was actually halirious.
