I met Kellin last night. I was chilling in the parking lot with my friend and he came up to us and we just talked for like 20 minutes. Nicest dude I've ever met. I hear people say he's an ass. Having this conversation I can confirm he's far from an ass. Extremely nice, humble, respectful. all around great guy.
Zara Salsabila was at his concert and I was hanging out in the parking lot where their buses were I guess and he came up and I waved him over and he did after he got off the phone with his wife.
The problem with listening to this is that you want to scream the lyrics but have to just furiously whisper them because your parents are in the next room
I really appreciate the fact that they included a muslim girl in the music video, as the association between islamic culture and punk culture isn't really one that's necessarily regarded as appropriate or accepted in society, and this is speaking in introspective terms, as I'm a muslim girl as well and you'd be surprised by all the different types of looks I get when I go out in public wearing a band tee or my septum ring with a hijab (scarf) and everything like honestly it's 2016 get over it guys lmao, but fr this makes me vv happy, hella respect for SWS
+SQA Corporation (Mahee) Lol, does it matter if there is a Muslim girl in this video? I mean, I like the diversity this video brings up, but honestly man, if you want to truly end discrimination, then stop categorizing people as Muslim, Buddhists, black, indigenous or anything in general. Just putting that out there....
I just turned 26, my daughter's gonna be 4 in two months, and every time I come back to SWS and all that, I just wanna put on my old shoes, throw on some ripped skinny jeans and go moshing. Sometimes I miss those days.
It really satisfies me founding out other black people (besides me) enjoy the same music taste as me. From where I from, all black people enjoy is rap/hip, which in this generation is about sex, money, etc. No rap to an extent where it's about a personal life story, or inspiration. The only rap artists I like are Eminem and Macklemore. Their songs are about their personal life stories, and it's touching. I usually enjoy rock, punk rock, metalcore, post hardcore alot more although. Ive been through alot, and these genres relieves my stress and brings out the energetic, happy, inspired side of me. I love SWS. I'm punk rock as fuck and I love it. (Sorry I just wanted to let that out, but if you read it: Thank you)
Lynnette Thomas Try some progressive metalcore. It's a bit more chill and less aggressive (sometimes), a lot more innovative in terms of instrumentals and the lyrics are way more complex but the feels are still there. I definitely recommend this song /watch?v=z5Lnzsw85e8 I like helping the lesser known bands get their name out there, so be kind and check it out? It's cool if you don't ^__^ (lyrics are in the description)
Yasss omfg!!! I get soo agitated when people are like wtf are you listening to. Im like its in the rock genre and they automatically are like ohhhthat screaming shit ewwww ummmm are you trying to be white or are you emo? And im just like just because im black doesnt mean i have to listen to rap. And it doesnt make me white because i like the music. It means im not a stereotypical( i think i spelled that wrong lmaoo) black person im who i am, im not a follower!
Andrei Osorio don't get me wrong, Kellin screams really well, but chester has diversity in his screams and could add vocal fry while singing normally in like a split second, which is a huge talent
But this band sucks, I can deal with this band.. Rlly I think this band put on the floor the "post-hardcore" genre. It's better set your goals than this shit, your friend just have a good musical taste.
I dub this song my song of the year. I've gotten rid of toxic people and got help for my mental problems and this song amps me up to take on the day and stand up for myself so thank you sleeping with sirens for making music people can relate to and use to help themselves~♡
well wecome to the fandom. songs i suggest: the bomb dot com v.20, the best there ever was, if im james dean your my audrey hepburn, we like it loud, captian tyin knots vs mr walkway, deja vu, parasites, if you cant hang, do it now remember it later, go go go, here we go, "scene" 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5, 4 corners 2 sides, a trophys father, with ears to see and eyes to hear, the strays, save me a spark
My friends are all trying to get me into Kpop and I’m not against that necessarily but I just made a 360 turn and now I’m falling down the sws rabbit hole. They’re gonna be so proud:)
what i really appreciate about this video is how they used all kinds of people. it doesn't just show a few emo kids (no disrespect intended) but also a few very normal looking people, even a black and a muslim girl. it's off course very fitting for this song, but i'm glad they didn't just use models dressed up as emos.
You seriously have no idea how hype this song can get you until you listen to SWS play this song live, they came to Vegas and played his song as one of their closing songs and man, the entire venue got lit, including me, I lost my voice 😂
Kellin, you have impacted my life in such a positive way. Without you and your music.. I would be lost. Your voice gives me hope - your lyrics too.. Thank you for all that you have done for me - for all of us.
I love how SWS feature people of different races at different ages with different styles in this video, it really shows the diversity of their fans and, I think, the emo community as a whole (because, you know, not all emos are "white people with first world problems")
welcome to the SWS fam. I've been a fan for a long time and they were much better back then but I still love them too this day and Madness was a decent album. But their first 2 are by far the best. check out their songs if I'm James Dean you're Audrey Hepburn. With ears too see and eyes too hear. the left side of everywhere. do it now remember it later. if you can't hang...well basically all their songs😂 they are my favorite band. you will notice the transition from post hardcore to pop rock
Everyone here is mostly talking about how cute the guy is. Yes he is cute XD But shouldn't we also be talking about the LYRICS of the song? The song is relatable. I feel like singing this against those who are arrogant, snobby and look down on me. Anyone else feels that way too?
Lol, same. There is this one girl who was my best friend for years, till she showed her real colors. Then I started to listen to songs but also decode the lyrics and I'm like, well... This is relatable
To all the kids who called me a depressed emo kid... to al the teachers who commented on my choice of clothing. To the "friend" I lost bc she didn't like my music and told me to commit suicide. I'm still here and I'm still alive!!!😂🏁
I had a teacher literally tell me I’m suicidal like it’s a fact because of how I dress. People don’t know what they’re talking about and glad you’re still here with us❤️
Let me tell you something. I showed one of my best friends (who is Muslim) this video and she was liking it, but when the muslim girl showed up at 0:43, her face lit up. It seemed like she was so happy to see some representation in music she liked. And that just got me thinking that not every person who likes this genre of music is white and has dyed hair and wears eyeliner. There's so many different people who like this music, and I feel like sws and this video specifically really gets it and shows the representation that lots of others fail to recognize. So I just wanted to say thanks to this band and many other bands of this genre for showing diversity and acceptance :)))
Mcr: mama we all go to hell Bmth: go to hell for heaven's sake Sws: go to hell and tell the devil that Iam not that far behind Conclusion: if you're emo you're 666% going to hell
Im trying to express myself but my dad seems to hate it. He hates my hair, my taste in music, my clothes... everything. I can only listen to music like this when Im with my mom. She supports me even if I act a little crazy. I just want to say thanks for all this incredible music.
60% of comments : KELLIN IS SO HOT 30% of comments: talking about how attractive the people in the video are 10% of comments: actually talking about the lyrics of the song
And thats why its hard for me as a guy to like their music because their whole fan base is obsessed with how hot the lead singer is instead of how just good of a band they are. That’s why bands like this and Asking Alexandria have bad reputation in the hardcore/metal industry because girls ruin it, no offense to girls lol but it’s like that with every band.
MY PERSONAL OPINION: With Ears to See & Eyes to Hear was not only my favorite album but also the best one they ever put out. It sucks that Brandon only sung in one song. I would've loved to hear him in any other song. I'm just glad he got his chance in the spotlight when he joined The Crimson Armada. Lets Cheers To This was another good album, I guess they were going for a more punk sound as opposed to what they originally were going for. Either way it was still good. It had a lot of catchy choruses, it featured Matty Mullins, & i'd be lying if I said I didn't love their music video for Do It Now Remember It Later. If You Were A Movie... I don't really like E.P's but I'm a sucker for acoustic songs any day. My favorite (& any other person I ask) has to be Roger Rabbit, & Stomach Tied In Knots. FEEL Like I said w/ Age Of Ignorance, WTF is up w/ all the hate?! I mean, I know Kellin lied about it being their heaviest album, But it wasn't bad. Like... AT ALL!!!!!!! They also released some pretty good singles. I can't wait for their new album on Epitaph Records. All in all, people, give Kellin Quinn a break. PLEASE?
Kellin never said feel was going to be heavy he said it very sarcastically during an interview then he said no I'm kidding it'll be " sleeping with sirens "
Give THE BAND a break not Kellin. Hate to be that guy because Kellin is the main selling point of this band, but the band has a lot to do with the band to not just Kellin.
Ok everyone is hating this song because "they think they're so cool because they can scream SHIT!" and because they changed their sound. Well, 1. This is a free country they can change their sound if they want and I think right now they're experimenting. They tried something new with their last album and not many people liked it, so now they're trying a new sound and I personally think it sounds great. And 2. I respectfully disagree that they're trying to be cool by screaming cuss words. I think they're trying to represent the anger and frustration you feel when someone is judging you. And when you are angry you tend to cuss. This is only my opinion, I am trying to put things in perspective.
I just freaking love the fact that there's a muslim girl in this video (the covered one) It just makes me so happy to see that there's girls like me who are covered but still love rock and metal and post-hardcore or metalcore, punk Etc Ermahgerd i love love this video more than anything right now
There's littlle to no layering in vocals, which is something I noticed Kellin did a lot in his past songs. I'm loving the pure vocals a lot, this song is amazing.
Melle Wachelder ya but, girls dont sing like Kellin though do they. I know this was 5 months ago but, have you ever heard a girl sing and scream this good. No! Me neither! Hate when people say this (no offence xox)
I dont know how I feel about this, i loved this band, i would still go to the world tour if they come to my country, but i just feel like it would be crowded with thirteen year old girls that think they are depressed and not understood by anyone fangirling kellin "cause his so cute :3" fangirls ruin bands, i know that they make a huge part on their succed, but then no one can take the band serious thats my opinion, sorry for my english
13 year old girls yeah many times things they are depressed but you don't know what many of those girls at going through so if you're not going to say nothing good please just shut up
Some 13 year old girls are going through some serious shit and sws is helping them through it and honestly saying that it would be crowded with 13 year old girls isn't bad because anyone can like sleeping with sirens it doesn't matter what age ok? ok
Tammy Alvarado Whoa, calm yourself. I don't think that comment was meant to be hateful, and I personally agree that sometimes it's hard to like a band or something when the fanbase is so deliberately obsessive. But i do also understand and respect that a lot of young teens do struggle and this type of music is an escape, but there are those who only listen to this band (and others) because of the attractive band members, which is really really annoying to people who, like I said, find this music to be their refuge.
Some of them actually are going through crap. Some of them REALLY ARE depressed, some of them REALLY HAVE anxiety and anger and whatever, and music helps them get through it. I have always been that kid, and I take offense to that. I agree with you on the fact that some fangirls pretty much ruin everyone's view of the fanbase. But really, some people actually have problems, as crazy as that may sound.
Well many of those girls ARE depressed and do have anxiety. Music is their way of letting go. You have no damn right to say that they don't! When I was 13 I was diagnosed with depression and severe anxiety . Just because you're young does NOT mean you don't have issues. So shut up and take your opinions elsewhere
I'm happy SWS signed with epitaph records. Rise records were making them too poppy. I hope this will give them more freedom to make their own sound and not be forced to make something they don't want. So far, I like their new sound.
Welkin craig from rise records managed the last band I was in. Trust me when I say Rise does NOT force their bands into sounding any certain way. They sign the band's because they already like them how they are. Complete freedom with all the people at Rise. Great work relationship.
I was listening to this in the car with my mom and we were singing and she said "Woah, this is some angry girl rock, I like it". I had to explain that Kellin was a guy...
WHOA! I haven't seen so many people from other races and cultures on a rock band music video before. How refreshing to see! I mainly like this song for this one reason tbh
I liked that they had people from other races it shows that there's not only one type of group that listens to rock, for example I'm Hispanic and love rock music . I think all bands have a fan that's from another race but they aren't shown as much because there aren't many of them sometimes
Yes, I Still Ship Ryden I love music that isn’t too super mainstream cause you see a lot more diversity In the fans and music videos (and yes yes she was beautiful)
floral benefits exactly like my friend (she's a atheist) wears a head scarve because she has cancer and is going through chemotherapy she wears the head scarve because she doesn't like wigs or stuff like that but she doesn't like people staring at her.
