ABOUT SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in Nora Ephron's wonderfully romantic comedy about two people drawn together by destiny. Hanks stars as Sam Baldwin, a widowed father who, thanks to the wiles of his worried son, becomes a reluctant guest on a radio call-in show. He's an instant hit with thousands of female listeners who deluge his Seattle home with letters of comfort. Meanwhile, inspired in equal parts by Sam's story and by classic Hollywood romance, writer Annie Reed (Ryan) becomes convinced that it's her destiny to meet Sam. There are just two problems: Annie's engaged to someone else and Sam doesn't know yet that they're made for each other. Co-starring Rosie O'Donnell, Rita Wilson and Rob Riener.

the first time i see this movie is 94 95 yr, that yr i see this movie LD in my University Library, i still love this movie very much , about 1 month i must see it again , i only have VCD , the bluring screen in the tv, the mood is quite good, i can accept, i also can feel the romantic of tracing the love, Merry Christmas Mood, and Happy Ending. I keep watch ing it.

I don't how many times I've watched you've got mail. Still I can watch it hundreds of time. Sleepless in the Seattle is my 2nd favorite of his movie.

It would be good to be able to find both and see them all the way through. "Sleepless" is now thirty years old--and still loved! The actors made it what it is. I hope they sometimes check in with RU-vid comments and get they are most appreciated!

Tom Hanks has had a career over more than 30 years and he is the only American actor who is as good as the British Shakespearean trained actors out of the Royal Conservatory. He is that good. Sully who landed the plane on the Hudson, the CIA agent who interrogates Mark Rylance the Russian spy, and executes the exchange over Bridge of Spies, and many more.

He grew up in Oakland, CA and I grew up on the Marin County side of the SF Bay. He worked in concessions at the A's stadium as a teenager. I heard that he would stand on busy street corners (not sure if it was San Francisco or Oakland, maybe both, and entertain tourists and locals for money. He was very funny. His acting style is similar to Spencer Tracy ~ who when asked how he prepared, replied; "I just don't let them catch me 'acting' " So I think his style is pure Tom Hanks and you don't see him acting, ever, right? He's a genius and talented! The Royal Academy of Acting has an entirely different way of expressing the character. Stanislavski etc ... Although, you made a great point !!! He's definitely a special actor. Forest Gump, Cast Away, Sully and so many earlier comedies . Oscar's how many does he have? Plus all the other big awards 🏆? Love him !

I feel sorry for Meg + Tom. They will never be able to watch this film like we can. I've watched it 3 times and enjoyed it so much. Thank You for making it for all of us to enjoy

@ShawnEldridge I've always thought about a sequel, although Nora Ephron who wrote Sleepless has passed away from cancer and she wrote and directed a lot of these, especially Sleepless and You Have Mail. I always thought that the characters would definitely marry and never figured out if they had more children. Jonah is happy. Or maybe they have 1 or 2 for siblings for Jonah & don't forget Annie deserves to have children at this point if she wants. Yeah, I always imagined them dating long distance then marry soon. Now, I sound like they're real people 🤭🤣 I love that they cast Hanks wife as his sister in it too. #RosieODonnell is so adorable in it too. Bill Pulman - he's a Shakespearean type of actor and he downplayed his role so perfectly you would never know he is in the TV series "The Sinner" and so many varieties of characters.
