There are spots on the lake that where just under the surface are tree trunks. They didn't cut down all the trees when they dammed up sleepy creek so you might have gotten hung up on one of them. Also I've never caught a fish in that lake, but I love the scenery, the quiet, and a little exercise paddling. There is a river otter there that probably keeps the fish population down too.
there is port holes on the kayak that allows water to escape if any comes onto the kayak. Apparently a branch from one of the submerged trees slipped into one of them from underneath. causing me to get stuck.
