Fr. I've been playing bass clarinet for abt 5 years and have always used the same ol selmer that I thought wasn't that good. But my school has 4 or 5 bass clarinets that are all somehow much worse.
My college has a Buffet Low C and a Noblet to Low E flat, they’re both great horns but I prefer my own Kessler Low C. I’m lucky to have it but with the amount of bass clarinet I play, including in a professional orchestra, I kinda need my own
LOW C'S!?!?!! as my school's only bass clarinet player i get the ancient low Eb and my bari player loves flexing that she can play lower than me haha Anyways, you two have FANTASTIC tone! amazing playing :) and pls compliment ur flutes and clarinets for me, as a former clarinet that part is SO hard to play at that tempo and they did excellent!
when i played bass clarinet the low Eb didn’t even work and we had to try three different bass clarinets until we found one that worked (they were all purchased in 1983)
@@technoeggnog Yeah it depends on the kind you have, most low c models are super expensive and used by professionals so schools can't afford them and go with student level, cheaper low eb's :)
As someone who has played bass clarinet for 13 years, this brings me so much joy ❤ my poor anthem bass is hiding in the corner from not playing any lower than an Eb. 😅 Great job!
Dang, those bass clarinets are in good shape, mine (school owned) I ancient (if I had to guess it’s about as old as the school building itself which was rebuilt thirty years ago after a tornado). There’s four bass clarinet players at my school including myself and at least three of us have had our bells fall off while marching. The hook for a neck strap on two has broken while marching. The cases are wood and fabric, there really isn’t padding in some of them. We have one wood bass and two low c’s. At one point this marching season so many broke that we only had three functional bass’s. Four players three bass’s.
As a Jr High Bass Clarinet player, I can confirm that this is amazing playing. Theres only 2 in the school, me being in the Varsity ( top) band and the other in Symphonic. Great tune both of you have
I'm usually the only bass clarinet in my band of 150 ish kids but some people in my section are starting to switch and one did for our performing arts Christmas concert. Me and her had a few solo-ish parts in a few of the songs we played.
Yah. My school has two bands. My band has 1 bass clarinet (me) and the other band has two. It gets really weird when you have a part where it really isn't a solo, but your the only one playing. Nerve wracking at first.
Lol I don’t know weather I’m jealous of there being more than one bass clarinetists at your school. Cause I’m the only one in my whole school who play this gift from god. I might even be the only bass clarinetist in my town lol. Mine is a Kessler it’s a pretty nice bass clarinet and it looks cool I got the black one. But yeah it’s a bit overwhelming to be the only bass clarinetist. But I think I’m pretty good (I practice for hours every day I get swollen lips sometimes lmao.) But hopefully I’ll be as good as you two some day.
Lol I just got a bass clarinet a couple days ago (I don’t buy it my band director is letting me play it) but yeah it’s a cool instrument. It is a bundy and it’s old but I gotta start somewhere. The school spent all its money on the saxophones anyway. Even tho bass clarinet is boss.
Came from Molly On The Shore. Your channel interesting but in a good way. Very talented with the music. Btw Fight On Colleyville Black Panthers! TX UIL Football ended so next few weeks starts Basketball season.
Im the only one who plays this same instrument in my school, I started playing the bb clarinet then skipped bass to contrabass after 3 weeks of middle school
luckily enough we have 4 but i know many schools that only have 2 or 1. really grateful we have so many but at the same time we wont even have any basses to play on them next year💀
