This is what Slender-Man should be, he isn’t a father figure who treats his proxies nicely and lives in a place of sanctuary, he is pure evil, he kills children and manipulates his proxies for his dirty work, and some say he uses his proxies for a plan to cleanse the earth

This game is great mainly because the actor, Tim Sutton from the Marble Hornets worked on this game. Love your explanation!

My interpretation of the story is that it's about breaking an endless cycle. At the beginning of the timeline, Slenderman was nothing more than an old legend. But Frieda Matheson decided to find out more about it, and cursed her family in the process. Slenderman started to haunt the Matheson family, kidnapping some of the children. So Frieda decided to end it all with a ritual, burning herself and most of her family in a house. And for a while, it worked. The following generations of the Matheson family were able to leave peacefully, without beign haunted by Slenderman. That all changed a century later, when Charles Matheson took his wife and son to the old family homestead for a picnic. While over there, Charlie Jr explored the place and eventually found out about his family's dark secret. In doing so, he awakened an old evil. Slenderman became active once again, and kidnapped Charlie. The Matheson family was haunted once again. And Charles, like Frieda before him, decided to end it all with fire. Again, it worked temporarily. Until CR came along. Instead of leaving the past behind, he decided to find out more about Charlie's disappearance. He started to dig where he shouldn't, until it was too late. He encountered Slenderman in the Matheson homestead, and awakened him once again. Then, since Kate was a close friend of CR, they both became haunted. Finally, for a third time, it all had to end with one thing: fire. So where does Lauren fit into all of this? Well, by this time, Kate had noticed the repeating cycle. No matter how many times people burned themselves, the whole thing would repeat itself all over again as long as there was somebody left to restart the cycle. First, it had been Charlie. Then, it was CR. And now, it would've been Lauren. She was Kate's best friend from childhood. Kate knew that Lauren would undoubtedly try to find out what happened to her and CR, and she would unknowingly be starting the cycle once again. More people would get roped in. Slenderman would acquire more victims. That's why she had to die. Kate decided that killing her friend Lauren was the only way to ensure that Slenderman would not be awakened again in the future. It was the only way to truly end the cycle, once and for all.

This game honestly scared the shit out of me but it was very confusing so I had to watch this, I've loved slender lore for a while including marble hornets and this game

I have so many good memories gathering all my friends meeting up at my one friends house and at night we would play Slender The Arrival together, with the Switch hooked up to my friends TV... he lived in a house in the woods, it was a big house with a lot of the walls made of glass, so you could see outside. We never really understood the full story, so thank you.

Also, the game takes place in Alberta, Canada. I found out because of a license plate on CRs car in homestead

Honestly I feel like this story should have been in the Slender Man movie and speaking of which I've made up a story that is somewhat synonymous to the Slender: the Arrival Story and it would be a pleasure if you tell me what you think about it. Alright without further ado here's the story made up by me: So this story is about 3 group of adults like in the Slender: the Arrival. There's Tom who is CR, Laura who is Kate and Brandon who is a male version of Lauren (yes I made up the names so don't judge me). So it begins with Brandon waking up in a forest not knowing how he end up there. Until police were there and they saw Brandon and asked him if he was OK in which he replied "Yea, I think so". One police officer then went to Brandon and asked him how he ended up in the forest and what actually happened. But at that point Brandon was stressed and so the officer told him "it's alright, we can talk in the police station, if you want to" which Brandon agreed. The officer then told his crew to check the forest if there were another survivors in the forest and drove Brandon to the police station so that Brandon tells him what actually happened. Later on they got there and the officer gave Brandon something to eat because he thought he was hungry. The police officer asked Brandon one more time how he ended up in the forest and what actually happened to him in which Brandon then started explaining the officer of his "experience": It was about a few days ago and Brandon was with his childhood friends Tom and Laura. Tom and Laura lived next to each other while Brandon was about a few miles away. They were at Laura's house with swings and Playground where they used to have fun when they were kids. Tom tells Laura how excited he was about his adventure with Laura about the disappearance of Mathew Henderson's son Mathew Henderson Jr since they were solving mysteries, ghost hunting they call it, in the woods, at the Oakside Park, that was behind Laura's house as kids when they were sneaking out of the house at night and to no surprise Brandon ignored them although he was into solving mysteries as well. That was until Tom texted Brandon to see if Laura was OK. At that Brandon was a bit confused and asked Tom about what happened in which Tom replied "I told Laura that I had feelings for her and now she doesn't answer me. We were doing an investigation and I said some things to her that broke her and we were done with the investigation". "Well that's stupid" said Brandon "You shouldn't worry about that bro. Just give her some space, you know". A few weeks later Brandon decides to meet up with Tom and Laura to see how they're holding up. After meeting at the Oakside Park Tom then tells Laura and Brandon about his idea of searching for more clues about the disappearance of Mathew Henderson Jr at his old farm house and he wanted to help his father, Mathew Henderson, even if Mathew pushed Tom away instead of letting him help. He then asks Laura if she wanted to come with him to understand a bit more about the mystery in which Laura replied "Sorry Tom, but I can't really, I already told you we ended this investigation". "oh, o- OK then, I'll try to solve it myself then". At this point Brandon thought of stopping Tom to investigate alone. "Hey, Tom." Brandon started. "What's the matter?" asked Tom. But then Brandon knew that his childhood friend was into investigations as kids, so it wouldn't be a problem for him. "Good luck"Brandon said." Uh, thanks" Tom said confused. However a week later Brandon texted Tom to see how the investigation went. But judging by Tom's texts it seemed like Tom was paranoid of something. "Dude, are you OK? What's wrong?" texted Brandon in which Tom replied "oh, uh nothing's wrong, I'm fine". "are you sure?" asked Brandon. "you can tell me everything bro, I won't tell anyone I promise". "I'm fine really" Tom replied. "you don't have to worry about anything". At this point Tom seemed a bit suspicious, like he's seen something during his investigation that he's afraid to tell what was it. However Brandon ignored it. That was until a few days later Brandon heard a knock and when he came at the door he saw Laura who was puffing so hard like she was running marathon. "Laura? What are you-" Brandon asked when Laura interrupted her. "Brandon, let me in please!" begged Laura. After letting her in Brandon was confused. "Laura, what are you doing here? What happened?" asked Brandon once more. "There's something in the woods behind my house!" yelled Laura. "What do you mean there's someone in the woods?" asked Brandon confused. "Have you heard of the myth Slenderman?" asked Laura while trying to calm down. "Slenderman? You mean the tall guy with a suit that has no face and haunts children?" asked Brandon. "Yes, but..." she starts. "He also appears when you're aware of his existence. Like you know he's there, you know that he's real and he just... Haunts you for eternity" said Laura. "Damn. But what were you doing in the forest at night?" asked Brandon. "Tom sent me a message that he wanted us to go to the forest to confront him, the Slenderman . And then..." stopped Laura. "Then, what? What happened? What did you see?" asked Brandon once more. "We saw HIM , the Slenderman. We ran away because we were so scared but I lost Tom in the woods and I couldn't find him as I was screaming for my life. I didn't want to go to my house since it was too close to the forest so I ran all the way here." said Laura. "So Tom is out there? In the woods? Jesus Christ. We gotta go find him." said Brandon. "NO! Are you crazy?! What if HE is still out there waiting for us?! I don't wanna go there in the dark again." said Laura. "Alright then I guess we have to wait until dawn and get you back home and after that I'll try to find Tom. Ok? Sounds good to you?" asked Brandon. "Yea... I guess" replied Laura, shakenly about what happened earlier. The next day Laura and Brandon go to her house after what happened last night. But by the look of it Brandon knows Laura is hiding something that Brandon still doesn't know. "Brandon..." says Laura while looking at Brandon. "Thank you for letting me stay during the night". "Sure, no problem". Said Brandon. Brandon then got Laura to her house. "Well I guess now I have to go look for Tom if he's still in the woods. So see you later then." said Brandon. "Sure. Be careful." replied Laura. Brandon then went in the woods and started yelling Tom's name couple of times but it was to no avail. Eventually Brandon gave up and thought Tom probably went to his house and so he went home again. A few days later Tom called Brandon." Hey dude. Where were y-" started Brandon. "Brandon, shit, where's Laura?!" said Tom. "What? What do you mean? I was with her the other day. She came at my house because she told me she ran away from the forest and lost you and I took her to her house the next day." Brandon explained. "Dude, I've called her dozens of times and she didn't answer. I later checked if she was home but she wasn't there at all!" said Tom. "Did you inform the cops about it?" asked Brandon. "No, I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should go out there to look for her, I don't even know where she is for crying out loud!" Tom yelled. "Calm down. Call the cops and tell them what happened." Brandon said trying to calm Tom down. "Alright, fine, if there's no other option." said Tom. "Hopefully it's not too late." A few days later Brandon got a message from Tom. "They found her. She was at the Oakside Park lying on the floor. There were also a broken camera and some weird drawings right next to her. We're at the hospital at the moment". "Alright I'm coming right now" Brandon replied. As soon as Brandon sent the message he got in his car and drove to the North Cross Hospital. After asking the receptionist where his friend Laura was and after she told him the room in which Laura was he got there as fast as he could. After going in the room he saw Tom standing next to Laura's bed. "How is she?" asked Brandon. "She's fine. The doctor said she was knocked out unconscious but she's gonna be fine" Tom replied. "Well, that's a relief" said Brandon. "Hey Tom. What happened at that night where you and Laura went to the woods to confront the Slenderman? She told me that she lost you in the woods when running away from the creature" said Brandon. "So she told you about that night?" Tom sighs. "Well after investigating the barn house of the Henderson family I started seeing hallucinations" Tom replied. "What kind of " hallucinations"?" Brandon said while interrupting Tom. "It were of this creature, Slenderman. You heard of him, right?" asked Tom. "Well, I definitely heard stories of him. And Laura told me as long as someone knows about his existence he'll continue to stalk them" replied Brandon. "So she didn't tell you everything" Tom interrupted. "What do you mean?" Brandon asked. "While I was at the Barn House investigating the disappearance of Mathew Henderson Jr..." Tom began. I found this old book of stories from Richter Henderson, Frieda Henderson's grandmother. Frieda was told about the Slenderman since she was only a kid. From that moment she knew about his existence and thus Slender began to haunt her and her children, Walter and Rose Henderson. And there were also journals left by two of the family members, Maggie and Aurora, with one page in each of the journals in particular with the Slenderman. Maggie states how Rose suddenly vanished after not coming home. However Aurora didn't believe in what her grandmother tells about the creature taking Walter and Rose away from the family and believes they only ran away from this world, never to be seen again. .

It's nice to see to finaly see an english video about Slender the Arrival's story. I think there is to much "reading", I think It would have been more interesting to see more interpretation because the video is mostly reading the note you can found in the game, also the smoke effect is quite annoying, I understant that you want to create a creepy mood but the music can do it by itself. Now the video's still good, there's just some little thing here and there that needs to be change, keep trying !

Awesome video! I play Slender: The Arrival every October to get in the mood for Halloween. This game does an amazing job of capturing that childhood feeling of being out in the woods and always wondering what else is out there, and if you're really alone. I got excited when it received a Switch port in 2019, thinking that meant they hadn't forgotten about the franchise and are possibly developing a sequel...

Been a while since I dived into Slenderman. Definitely has become a classic in video game horror, or even horror in general. I do wish a sequel of this game would be made but the chances of that are slim to none.

Great video, but there’s still one thing that bothers me. When does Kate get turned into a proxy? Because if that happens when Lauren hears hear scream coming from the woods, how would she then later meet up with CR and then run away from him? It seems illogical that she was already a proxy at that point... Also, how sure are we that CR started the forest fire and not slender? And who wrote all the text on the walls of the mine, the cave and the building by the radio tower? And to who was that all written? Especially the mine, because the text tells Lauren how to get up by the elevator. Could it not be that CR arrived before Kate at the tower and wrote all of that on his way for Kate to read? Then when Kate met him (after being harassed by slender), she ran away, got caught and turned into the chaser to later stalk Lauren? What do you think?

In a sense Slenderman itself is a modern boogeyman. It has vaguely authoritarian shape and has this far appeared only in current times. Of course being fabricated folklore gives it flexibility to appear always anywhere and anytime. I would love to see exploration of it in a period piece.

As for the timeline of Lauren's part. Here's what I thought this is: Lauren heard Kate's scream in the house ->went investigating, got chased and blacked out at Oakside park -> At the same time Kate jumped out of her bedroom window, left for the radio tower to meet up with CR, where Kate was unable to follow CR's plan (which is, to kill themselves) and eventually gave in to Slender Man. When Lauren finally woke up and went to the mining factory, the chaser she saw was the newly transferred proxy, Kate.

Despite the seemingly endless cycle of it all, Kate and CR were able to end it all The way Slenderman was discovered went up in flames, alongside the rest of the forest, CR died and Kate killed Lauren, the last person to ever find out about Slenderman, while Kate and Charlie would never die as his proxies, Slenderman would never be able to claim any other victims, he’d claimed the last ones in Charlie, Kate, CR and Lauren, and Charlie and Kate are proxies, he can’t torment them anymore In other words, humanity is Slenderman’s toy store, when they become a proxy, they’re a broken toy, not worth playing with anymore, and so he must find new victims, new toys, but he can no longer do that Although it’s tragic, CR was able to do what he set out to do in the first place, uncover the truth of the Matheson family’s haunted past, and ultimately rid the world of the ancient evil once and for all
